A small note: in Russian the small m looks like this: м
the way you used it it's actually t (when printed it's usually т, however handwritten it looks like m). Yeah, it only makes sense given that capital Т when handwritten has three legs, most likely to avoid confusion with Г (wihich is G).

And this is why I'm not going to do a lot of Russian or other Slavic languages here: difficult to get it right when you don't even know the alphabet. Thanks for the lesson! :)

See, this is why I prefer to study spoken-only languages.  No worries about spelling or orthography :D

To be honest, correlation between spelling and pronunciation in English also makes almost no sense from the viewpoint of most other languages. And if you run into a word adopted from another language - it's completely unpredictable.

And those were the symbols that mostly match. Given that both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets were derived from Greek, it's surprising how much inconsistency is there between all 3 of them. And if you want something at least partially recognizable for those familiar only with Latin alphabet, it's even more of a problem.

Also it's a real problem when you have 2 or even 3 layouts on your keyboard - you always end up with the wrong one.

Quote

A rough, dough-faced, thoughtful ploughman strode through the streets of Scarborough; after falling into a slough, he coughed and hiccoughed.

Yes, English can be weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.

By the way, why not make one lander with two stages for Bob and Pol?

I'm not sure what advantage you think that would give.  Bop and Pol are both pretty easy compared to the inner moons.  A single stage lander that did a return trip to each moon would be much smaller.  Of course, that may not matter to Bill and Wernher considering the size of the [REDACTED].  If I was building a lander to do both moons in one trip, it would probably still be single stage.

And @RandomRyan, of course Google Translate is exactly where I got that word, good to know it works in reverse too :) I'm going to trust the actual German speakers here when they tell me that such a word is silly and stupid and no one today would ever use it. Just what I wanted! :D

Still, "Weltraumfahrzeugträger" is kind of a hilarious naming in its oddity. The problem with the German way of creating new words by connecting old ones is that sometimes the created words don't really make sense anymore. For example, "Weltraum" means space (literally, "World-Room"), Fahrzeug means vehicle (literally, "Drive-Thing") and "Träger" just means carrier (even literally). But if you combine these words it gets comical, since one can't "drive" in space, and it's not necessary to "carry" anything since there is no weight.

@Kuzzter: It's not that complicated to slip in some russian influence, you could just transscribe some English words into cyrillic or use Russian words with the latin alphabet. For example, "Kerbfleet" would look like "Кэрбфлит" (also considering the pronunciation), the Russian word for "Hello" would be "Privjet"(pronounce like "pree-vyat") or "Sdravstvuj" (pronounce like "Strust-voo-y").

Also, isn't there XP for planting flags?

Yeah, you get about 10% more for planting a flag than for just landing. But I always thought spamming flags was cheesy so I tend not to do it except when I have a good reason to mark a landing site. In any case, the max XP available for this trip without flag planting is over 18 (Kerbin orbit, Mun and Minmus landings, solar orbit) so everybody will be at least Level 3 when they come back.

I hope Nizmo doesn't try to instate kommunism aboard the Space Drive-Thing Carrier.

I got the impression he left Russian territory to escape that.

I'm waiting for the Negative Gravioli Detector to start talking trash again :D

There's no reason to believe that, @Sanic. As Kuzzter has repeatedly mentioned, his Kerbals do not know from violence, so there would be no need to have separate countries, let alone spies.

Well, he could be Kerbulan.

No, they don't even know that the other exists, except for one dream. They're not in contact... yet.

Concerned Ponderings!

Well, until Kuzzter comes along and ruins the conspiracy theory by stating the obvious, the Kerbulans could very well have discovered Kerbin already. We haven't seen them since their khristmas karol, where they were singing about using all their missiles, presumably against the abandoned Eve flotilla.

I know I haven't shown the date in a while, so for reference, Kenlie Kermulan left Kerbulus for 'the purple planet' 30-40 days ago.

Thanks for the update Kuzzter!

'Not quite yet...'  but soon(ish) I trust.

Definitely adding to the level of concern.  But that's to be expected at this point.

Happy Concerned landings!

Roger that. Pretty sure that if I have room inside KSS [REDACTED] for the Quadhammer, Skimmeroo, other landers and the Longboat, I can fit a few tons' worth of scansats as well :)

In any case, I'm not going to be bound by any of the various formal rulesets for the Jool-5 challenge (though my intent is to go in a single mission with a ship assembled in LKO, perform ISRU, and have different crew visit each moon)

If I do end up qualifying for a badge, fantastic! Just so long as @sdj64 accepts comics pages (showing the occasional resource window) as a valid entry :)

I'll keep an eye on it.  You're probably all set for most of the rules, the big one to watch out for is interacting with other stuff that didn't come with you on your ship (besides the one allowed refueling mission).  I suppose you already take lots of screenshots for your comics so you should be all set if we can see some resource windows or at least fuel gauges for the important bits.  An album would be much appreciated if you want to submit your mission when you're finished because it will take a lot of time to go through the whole thread of comics.

Kuzzter always creates an Imgur album of each chapter.  That should make for easy review.

Happy landings!
