Forget struts? It blows up in your face. Not enough fuel? Your crew either: 1. Dies in the cold depths of space. 2. Chrashes into surface of planet/ mun you are landing on or 3. They die stranded on the said celestial body, because you couldn't take off because you knew you would not get back into orbit. Look at it the wrong way? Kracken attacks it. I then had to waste the entire lunch explaining about the Kracken and orbital mechanics.
