PSA: Kerbalmaps.com is down!

I know!!! Today I was planing to start my big Mun project. On the west side of the big central crater there is some nice flat terrain. I tried to go to Kerbalmaps to pinpoint where I wanted to land my survey rover, but instead got the dreaded 404.

Could just be a temporary glitch, it's not as if the Internet is without these issues after all.

Well, the name (domain) is held (on hold) by GoDaddy. I have the owner / registrant's information (WhoIS). Looks like the site was taken down on purpose... like maybe some manner of legal action.

According to the Wiki the highest point is near the south pole (152.33° W and 82.52° S) at 7061m.

@saik0 was/is the maintainer of the site, at least until some time 2015, according to this thread:

But has shown no forum activity since 2015. Also, April 2015 the site was down for a bit too, and then came back.

I did find a full download of (a version of) the maps here, and a set of biome maps for Kerbin/Mun/Minmus here. I think they are pretty much guaranteed to be out of date though, and the 1.2 pre-release dev notes mention numerous updates to biomes that will definitely not be in there.

Your best bet for maps is SCANsat and generate them yourself.
