Earlier today, I heard this old gem from the past. The title song was a heck of a lot better than the movie. In fact, the movie needs to be critiqued by Svengoolie! At least then, it would get at least a few laughs. Oh dear Kod not Xanadu! Yeah, I saw that movie when I was ten. Not our first choice, of course . My uncle had taken my cousin and me to the movies. The plan was to see Smokey and the Bandit II, but it was sold out. So my uncle bought us tickets for The Blue Lagoon, then used a payphone (remember those?) to update my aunt (thinking now that that was his mistake). Needless to say, he had to trade those tickets for the only other thing playing at that theater: Xanadu. Um, yeah, big disappointment for a couple of 10yo boys, and I don't think my uncle was much impressed either. But hey, it was a night at the movies, so I guess it was still a good night over all. I was going to post the theme song from SatB2, but, nope, can't bring myself to post country music. Certainly not country music from 1980. Then I'd need even more ear bleach.
