Brotoro
I remember when Starship skins used to be all wrinkly. That huge length of smooth, shiny tube sure is pretty.

Benefit is that you save one engine and you will use the oxygen first to get into orbit or trough the van allen belts and then the lower trust but higher isp nuclear thermal for velocity. That engine is huge, must be an 3.75 meter scale and long even hen folded.

The title was 'completed ship moving out of the highbay' but the image was of them getting ready to mate the parts. The subsequent pics in the thread all showed no gap. Beccab
S21's thrust dome (follow up tweet corrects this), S20 section with full TPS and first B4 section in the high bay. It seems that now S20 is just missing the nosecone and flaps Edited July 3, 2021 by Beccab
JoeSchmuckatelli
Going back to the structure we speculated might be a leg, or fin attachment... Did we ever get an idea of what it was? The subsequent photos make it hard to tell if there are 3 or only 2.

I'm not completely sure, but I believe it turned out to be the housing for a large COPV tank

RCgothic
I think this nomenclature makes a lot more sense: RC, RB and (presumably) RV numbers. No more getting raptors confused with ships. Edited July 4, 2021 by RCgothic
sevenperforce
Do we know if the RB-series engines are already uprated for more thrust, or are they merely fixed and unthrottleable?

StrandedonEarth
Wow.... which makes legs that much more complicated, which really drives towards catching.... and the wider ring of engines is made more possible by dropping the legs in favor of catching... JoeSchmuckatelli
I just want to watch the thing fly. (I feel like even if I had written that in all caps, it would not make sense of how awesome I anticipate that many engines firing at once would be.)
