Apaseall
@JadeOfMaar Hi, back on the trail of the resource manager. What I have done is to create a new set of folders. They are a copy of the game I am playing install. I have stripped out all of the gamedata folder contents. I am in the process of adding folders to gamedata. As you can see from these files; https://www.dropbox.com/s/s6cmu051e77a2pt/save for JadeOfMaar.WBI-Manage.3..rar?dl=0 I have a couple. I thought I would need squad, WBI and OPT. I think I may be missing a dependency or two. Anyways can you take a peek please. Let me know if you spot something I have forgot to copy into gamedata. I only just for example copied in JSI. My plan is obviously to get resource manager to work. Then add in other mods until it breaks. Problem is, it is not even working now. Hence my thought that I must be over looking something simple. JadeOfMaar
@Apaseall Now this I can troubleshoot. What are the installed versions of the WBI mods? By chance you're not using "the latest" (the 1.4.4) versions? The top of your log says 1.4.3 so I know to be cautious by that far.
JadeOfMaar
Release 1.2 Added NON-FAR aero patch. Makes parts a little less Draggy™ (My OPT not-spaceplane can spaceplane : D I haven't tested much other than the ascent) :: DOWNLOAD :: This craft couldn't pass Mach 9 or do 1/4 lap around Gael/Kerbin (in 2.5x scale, using the Legacy J-61 engine with 3200s Isp under Mach 5, 2000s Isp over Mach 6) but now it can SSTO. I think the fuel savings alone says a lot.... I hope it's enough that needs to be said. Before (nearly out of fuel, Periapsis still underground) After (Apoapsis is way out there, and still got a way to go!) Apaseall
By hand. It is the contents of the .version file found in GameData\Mod\ folder I am working on getting a different list. Edit. Nope I fail. At some point I lost the ability to create output.log files, a side effect of ksplogconsol I think. This is the first time I have tried to pick out mod version info from the consol files. I may ask the author, but not right now. Edit. I tried getting a list from within the game using the consol. erm I have no idea what command to write lol. Apaseall
Here is a question. I see you have made some changes to reduce drag. Very helpful. Have you considered how that would work with tweakscale? I personally scale all my lifting and control surfaces. I just wondered if you had pondered on this. I have not to be sure. But thought I would ask. I personally scale all my lifting and control surfaces. I just wondered if you had pondered on this. I have not to be sure. But thought I would ask. Actually no, I haven't considered Tweakscale. I've only tested ascent and cruising with OPT Legacy fuselage parts (which can be incredibly draggy). I'm not greatly expecting a negative reaction from it, honestly. But I'm as eager as ever for feedback from anyone about it-- people with sharper eyes about these little things that personally I don't have to bother with very much or at all. Apaseall
I would think that the only source for negative comments regarding changing OPT drag would be if any parts were missed or if the new drag values were unrealistic. I saw unrealistic with caution because this is a game after all. But I think you know what I mean. On the resource manager fault finding front...I thought to re-install WBI. In doing so I noticed that NearFutureProps had not been brought into the test install. That is now present. I also brought over KSP-AVC which allows me to provide you with this; Spoiler KSP: 1.4.3 (Win64) - Unity: 2017.1.3p1 - OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601) 64bit Community Resource Pack - 0.10 Firespitter - 7.9 JSIPartUtilities - 0.4.2 RasterPropMonitor - 0.30 KSP-AVC Plugin - 1.2.0.2 KSPDev LogConsole - 0.18.36657.6750 NearFutureProps - 0.3.3 OPT Legacy Spaceplane Parts - 1.1 OPT Reconfig - 1.0.7 WildBlueTools - 1.55.7 Kerbal Actuators - 1.4.6 Buffalo - 2.5.5 Classic Stock Resources - 1.0.1 Deep Space Exploration Vessels - 3.1.5 Airships - 2.12.5 Kerbal KIS Items - 2.1.4 Pathfinder - 1.26.5 I am testing now. I did previously do a test with a stock WBI part and found the same issue, a pop-up for the resources that was blank. That led me to think that there was an issue with the WBI install, hence the re-install mentioned above. edit. Oh and I deleted the play mode in GameData. edit. Still have a problem. Same one as mentioned. But this is with a standard pathfinder part. I will post in that thread for help. AmpCat
@JadeOfMaarthanks for this tweak. I've always been frustrated that even with my pretty well designed space planes, with pretty good efficient engines, I still couldn't really make a viable SSTO. Would keep going back to vertical launch SSTO rockets instead. Looking forward to playing with this after my current mission to Duna. commanderbunbun
I just downloaded the latest version of OPT Reconfig which is v1.2 and installed it, but keeps on saying to download v1.2. it shows it as v1.08.
AmpCat
Similar issue here. CKAN says I have 1.2, but the OPTReconfig.version says 1.0.8. Changelog_Reconfig.txt says 1.2. I guess I'm good?
JadeOfMaar
@AmpCat That's a pretty big blunder there. Thanks for noticing! Release 1.2.1 is up. Apaseall
Made a test install for 1.4.4.2215. Things seem to work! I seem to be able to use the WBI resource manager to change what resource a part holds. This looks encouraging. I will see about migrating more. Like settings, craft, importing bases etc. I admit that I was resisting going 1.4.4 because of Kopernicus. Oh and KSS. Now that is 3 versions of KSP I have. Not counting test installs. I am getting tired of waiting for some mods to update. Whilst others are racing ahead. Seems like I will be playing more than one. The time spent on updates, grrr. I like wasting time playing. Not trying to keep things up to date because KSP brings out another version of itself. Edited July 14, 2018 by Apaseall
StarStreak2109
And here I am considering going back to 1.3.1 for good. I am just glad I am not sinking time in making mods, since I guess it's even more frustrating to keep up with the steady stream of patches... besides, having multiple installs of KSP is pretty normal. I have a 1.3.1 install along with the current KSP, a test install for editing configs along with a few part viewer installs that have but a few mods installed to select which parts I want to narrow down the parts list. A sizable chunk of my hdd is devoted to KSP. Edited July 14, 2018 by StarStreak2109

AmpCat
@JadeOfMaar do you plan on doing any modeling/model editing for the OPT Legacy parts? There's a few minor adapters and tweaks I've been annoyed about, but assumed this was all dead. Wasn't sure where to make the requests. Some of them are as simple as adding fuel types (or really, just making the types consistent) on the OPT parts.
JadeOfMaar
@AmpCat Enlighten me. Tell me all that you're hoping for. I have plans for adding and maybe editing OPT part models, but I can't make promises on delivering them. (I have higher priorities to tend to.) However, anything that can happen through just config writing and maybe a retexture can be very likely.
AmpCat
Well, I'll start a wishlist shortly, probably with the humpback series, but for now, a minor bug: The Warpjet SAGE and HAE-02 don't show up under the mk2 cross-section category, but the rest of the OPT mk2 engines do. JoE Smash
Hey @JadeOfMaar, I noticed my save game was propagating numerous copies of part = i.4m.cockpit.isp. I was having the same issue with this happening with part = fueltank, because the T.R.A.P. engines mod from kerbalstarkerman added another copy of a .cfg file for the Fuel Tank 400. My save file would keep filling up with hundreds of copies of part = fueltank. I would prune/delete the copies and they would keep coming back.....until I found and deleted his extra copy of the fueltank.cfg..... it seems that when a mod adds a part that has the same exact part name as another part already in the game or added by another mod the part keeps getting copied over and over in the parts section of the persistent save file. Also a picture of the part gets copied over and over in the tech tree....so my tech tree keeps getting hundreds of thumb nail images of fuel tank 400 and this OPT cockpit in their respective nodes when I look at them in game.... It seems like deleting the superfluous .cfg file with the exact same part name rectifies the problem.... You have a cfg called "OPT_i_4m_cockpit_isp" in GameData/OPT_Legacy/parts/miscparts/size_2. Inside the cfg it says "name=i_4m_cockpit_isp." Maybe in your next update you should rename that part to part =OPT.i.4m.cockpit.isp.......because there is ALSO a cfg called "i_4m_cockpit_isp" located in GameData/OPT/Parts/Main where the first line is name=i_4m_cockpit_isp (well the first line after the kyeon disclaimer I mean technically). I don't think the game knows what to do when there are two SEPARATE parts provided to the game with two IDENTICAL part names.... Not that I know anything about modding. I figure if you change the part name to name =OPT.i.4m.cockpit.isp, you'll then have to go back and fiddle with the .mu file or the texture file or something too....
