It's a battery killer though, isn't it? Yes it is, but we need it badly. I had to switch on the backwheel motors, I couldn't climb a large hill without it. If feel so close, but there is still a lot of rough terrain up ahead. I've stopped to charge the buggy, hold on Black Night, we'll get there. Triop
From here on it's all keeping the navball on 180 degrees, straight line, flat surface. I've turned SAS off, saving energy. 2 wheel drive settings as well. We are almost there, shame I haven't flew in a welcome party, afterall, I still need to get Jeb home for this mission to be a succes. Guest
@Triop, you might be asking for too much. I mean, at least let us use vessel mover to get the rover to the start.

As long as it has wheels and drives. We are almost out of power ! And we are not even close to the Southpole . . . I have to make sure I'm not running out of power 100%, I could never turn around for sunlight if I ran completely out. Recharging . . . We are not there yet, I was hoping to get there before day 15, but I don't think that is possible. Triop
Day 15. Sunset, we couldn't do a full recharge, we drove untill we had around 30 electric charge left. It's night and Jeb is getting some hard deserved rest. Let's go on one more adventure, let's fly Val to the Southpole. Triop
Goodmorning Jeb, ready for the last kilometers ? Recharged. On my way ! Nothing can stop us now, the flat surface makes this easy sailing home. Top speed: 25.2 m/s I'm so proud, love this piece of junk. Right now a toothpick holding down the "W" key is doing all the driving. Eat that Elon musk. Edited September 15, 2018 by Triop

Jacke
Ran out of likes--again! Wondering if the design should have had a solar panel on its aft surface, just in case you ran out of juice facing south. Spoiler "Little did Jeb know that by shear luck he'd avoided utmost peril! He had bypast the Mountains of Madness." Spoiler Looking forward to the antarctic finale!

Well, there was a docking port on the back needed to deliver the buggy, which exploded. So there was no room back there for solar panels. I had 2 x 1x6 solarpanels on the sides, but they broke . . . You can read it back in this log. Edited September 15, 2018 by Triop

I'm sure @Triop is planning to do that. But that did make me think of the way this challenge could be turned up to.... 11 doesn't cut it. This is turning it up to Crazy-Town. Drive all the way. Drive from KSC to the North Pole. Drive to the South Pole. Drive back to KSC. Somewhere around 3 times the length of what Triop is about to complete.
