Transfer Window Planner gives that information.

Can't really give hard and fast numbers because it varies. But it we assume a Hohmann transfer and perfectly circular and coplanar orbits, the phase angles are:

Sarnus - 106 degrees
Urlum - 64 degrees
Neidon - 49 degrees

There's a trick I use if you feel like going manual- Launch when a line tangent to Kerbin's orbit (going in the direction of orbit) intersects the planet in question. The inclination and eccentricity can get a little fussy but it works.

For anyone who is having an issue with the new Gas giants looking like Jool or the rings flashing, make sure you have not only downloaded the Stock Visual Enchantments [SVE] But also Environmental Visual Enhancements [EVE] WITHOUT a config so NO BoulderCo!

I know it says all this in the [SVE] download page but when your troubleshooting it can be tough to find what details you overlooked amongst the many mods necessary to make it all work.

Hi @Poodmund,

I'm throwing together configs for OPM for Simplex Resources Support . One thing I haven't been able to gather is whether the three 'gaseous' planets have a surface or not, or are they like Jool which means you can't land. I ask this because their Kopernicus cfg files have a landed science multiplier, so I wasn't sure.

They have no PQS mesh so they definitely have no surface akin to Jool.

Are you going to bundle them in your SIMPLEX Resources mod distribution? That would be the preferred method for me.

And yes... generally Simplex mods support others internally. You don't have to do anything.

I believe you need to set your terrain settings to Ultra in the main menu settings.

My suggestion is don't use a version of KSP that is unsupported by the mod.

Heads up on 1.10, you will see every gas giant as jool using kopernicus 1.9, and currently (R-T-B is working on this as we speak) normals are broken in kopernicus dev 1.10. Currently you can workaround this by implementing a normal map yourself, but if you want to wait, there should HOPEFULLY be a build soonish. Keep in mind 1.9 kopernicus is unstable, and 1.10 is doubly so, so use at your own risk.

It's because of 1.9/1.10 Kopernicus and you can do nothing about it, happens to other planet packs too

Packaged some changes which may help resolve some of the issues with body surfaces depending on how Kopernicus Continued pushes updates.

Outer Planets Mod v2.2.8

- Updated ground scatter notation to align with Kopernicus directly and enable scatter collision mesh interactions.
- Resolved unnecessary double spaces in localization strings and replaced tab indentation with spaces in localization file.
- Explicitly state PQS materialType for bodies with PQS meshes.
- Remove bad characters from Localization strings.

Nearly all of it was already enabled prior to this change. I just changed all of the notation of the config nodes to match what Kopernicus outputs by default and also enabled a small few of scatters that didn't have collision enabled (was only a very small amount).
