Thanks a lot @mateusviccari I installed stockalike from CKAN hoping that it would be the latest but obviously it is way way old. This explains some other glitches I've been seeing. Thanks again.

What is required to use this mod with the latest version of BDB(v1.10.3). I tried it and it throws the following errors in the loading screen:

4 errors related to GameData/RealFuels-Stock/BlueDog_DB/RF_BDB_Scout.cfg

10 errors related to GameData/RealFuels-Stock/BlueDog_DB/RF_BDB_Vega.cfg

EDIT: Its also showing a lot of errors related to B9 Part Switch.

@DA299, I had the same problem. There is a fixed version for the Vega on Github.

Make a backup of GameData/RealFuels-Stock/BlueDog_DB/RF_BDB_Vega.cfg and replace the contents of the file with this:

Possible, I only have kerbalism and interstellar extended as the major ones(which change the gameplay mechanics), so maybe its those two? Oh, and also I'm playing in KSP 1.8.1 too.

Guys I have another issue, if I set the MLI layers on a fuel tank to something other than 10(like 70 or 80 for example), and then load the craft again, the MLI layers reset to the original value of 10. If you have several fuel tanks it becomes quite tedious to adjust the MLI layers value again to the required. Is it possible I'm missing something, or this is just the way it is?

You need to report that in the actual Real Fuels thread. This thread is for the stockalike engine configs for Real Fuels.

Just wanna ask,

Can I add different fuel types to modded engines?

For example, the Soyuz U uses RP-1 (or RG-1 in Russia's case) and LOX, but the Soyuz U-2 uses Syntin and LOX. Can I edit the .cfg of the Tantares RD-107 and 108 to add different fuel modes? If so, how do I do it?

By making a Module Manager patch. Better than editing mod files directly. Keep all your personal patches in a special folder that you create in GameData folder. 
 

Read the Module Manager thread to learn how  write such patches. Also look at this mods files to see how it patches engines. 
 

I’ll write a second half to this with more specific examples when I’m at my computer instead of typing on my phone.

Well this mod wonderfully tanked my fps, so i nuked it from orbit and switched to modular fuel tanks. Now i remember why i got rid of this mod last time,i was fed up with this BS.I don't have github account if u wanna i can upload and send u my logs and stuff,assuming u have github account(i don't wanna have another account,i have full notepad with accounts and passwords).

Used RealFuels-Stock configs,there was like 18 errors related to bluedog bureau designs and 4 more to other. Looks like whole this stuff needs serious update

This mod is only a set of configs for Real Fuels. If you’re getting a serious FPS drop then it’s from RF. Which seems to be getting increasingly bloated with RO hooks. I doubt if anyone tests RF outside of an RO environment :(

In my experience, all the stock engines work fine. In my very heavily modded install, about 90% of the engines behave as expected. Most of the issues seem to be with BDB SRBs, some of which work fine, some of which behave very strangely. Some of the tanks don't work, either, especially tanks that use some sort of fuel switch - they usually override RF and you're left with a weird LH2/Oxidizer tank.

 

I have a real Frankenstein install of custom fixes for engines I use a lot. I should really send them to Github, but I am too stupid for Github.

I've been searching for fixes for the newer versions of BDB for ages and am about to resort to rolling my own patches myself. If you're interested in sharing, I would be very happy

Waterfall is a plume mod, not a fuels mod. RealFuels  Stocks Real Fuels config (this mod) just makes the stock engines  compatible with real fuels mod (it adds other fuel resources like kerosone, Lqd. Oxygen, Lqd. Hydrogen, etc to stock engines, and removes default LqdFuel).

RealFuels has a dependency on RealPlumes, which is another plume mod, so if you want to use RealFuels + Stock RF configs you should not install Waterfall.

Another option, if you want to use Waterfall (which looks way better than RealPlumes), is to stick with stock fuel resources and use mods that add waterfall support for stock engines, and a mod that add cryogenic engines which will use different types of fuels,.
