Mode for engineers

My greetings from Armenia, I want to collaborate with the KSP team with wonderful ideas.
The thing is I am doing an engineering project on rockets and space missions. So far I have collected my team and started to work on a project. However things are not going so smoothly. I request the community to help me to implement my project on a simulation. This is the first time I have ever been in forums, so pardon me I have done somethings wrong.

So, to generalise, my team have collected some material data, put it on the paper and is waiting for a simulation to try it out. I hardly ever found a simulation that is as integrated as KSP. My question is: what are modes for "engineering purposes".

thank you in advance.

P.S. I have not turned to 18, so it is hardly an exuce to my parents to buy the game and install modes in it although I can afford it with my personal money. Do you have any bypassing purchase method for this?

sorry.. I mode===mod

Howdy and welcome to the forum. :D

As you seem to be talking about studying actual spaceflight, I have moved your question to the spaceflight subforum. However, it's not clear to me what you want. Are you hoping to simulate a spaceflight in KSP? If so, you would need to use realism mods.

Also, are you asking for ways to buy the game without using a credit card?

Sorry, it's still not clear what you're asking. Are you looking for a way to download the game without paying for it? If so, that's illegal and we can't discuss it on this forum.

And what do you mean by 'modes for engineering purposes'? KSP has three game modes - sandbox mode might be the best for testing a spacecraft design as you're not limited by technology levels or lack of in-game money. But if you're looking to use KSP as an engineering simulator, you'll want to install the Realism Overhaul mod to make it as accurate as possible.

I believe "modes" = "mods".

I see all things have been messed up..... so, for to briefly summarize

how to get KSP+mod(KSP as a virtual test)(without $$ and fancy pre-built components of rocket parts that the game itself provides)

and what is best mod for "building that fancy pre-built components on my own"

In addition, I will not be alone working on this project, so my team will be logged in and having game downloaded on their PC to work on this project. I am not sure if I can share the purchase (if I have one)of the game to different accounts/or download it on different PCs.

I don't know much about the KerbalEdu version, but that might be the one to look at to get multiple licenses discounted.

I'm not sure what exactly you want to simulate. Bear in mind the simulation KSP uses is simplified. The parts themselves consist of a 3d model and applied stats, and the interaction of those are simulated. If you are trying to simulate how a custom part performs, it will NOT simulate how the part itself works; i.e. creating a rocket engine as a combination of pumps, chambers, and nozzles is not how KSP works. You have an entire engine model that consumes and produces numbers according to whatever values are plugged into the .cfg files.

Beyond that, KSP is not an engineering simulator; it is more a a LEGO simulator with pre-defined parts. So I'm not sure if it will be useful for what you want it to do.

The Powder Toy may be (big maybe) closer to what you want, and it's free!

KSP is nice for learning the basics and playing around, but it's far from a real engineering simulation tool. If you're looking to actually build something, I'd look into getting your hands on an educational license on Matlab and something like ANSYS. These are tools that engineers use to make rockets. They can be expensive, but if you're a student you can usually wrangle a free copy.

Thanks for all your suggestion, and guiding me. If you know of this kind of real engineering simulation tools, please let me know. My montage-PC have 128GM RAM and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti(the PC is begging to have simulation installed in it), and please keep pace of suggesting me about what tools should I use. This KSP community is awesome.

MATLAB sounds like what you're looking for however a standard license will also cost you $150. Writing a Matlab script is like programming in any other language.

On a hobby scale, fine throttling is not achievable

If you plan on making bipropellant engines, you'd have to have a lot of metal working skills and the equipment to be able to do so.

I would try to refine the scope of your project not only so we can give you better advice but so you can identify everything you will need to meet the goals of your project.

maybe try orbiter, its free, though i cant speak to whether its flight model is better or worse, but it did have a huge number of mods. ksp still ranks as one of the most fun newtonian simulators ive played, but some allowances were made for that (moar boosters).
