I'm sorry that's not what I meant. I meant to say around the whole hole, on the white part, not the individual cylinders.

Those cylinders look a bit like they're encased in iron-trimmed leather armour now. :(

You make it sound like that's a bad thing.

Although looking at it again I do agree that there should be something accenting the white bits.

Really looking the part there blackheart! If/when you do the stock cupola, could you try killing some of the dark greys on it, replacing it with more whites?

We'll see, at the moment I use Proot's it looks great, I would recommend it :)

I frankly preferred it like that rather than plain color, though I'll tell that it is a little bit challenging to actually add stuff to the plain cylinders since it has a UV a little bit too small to add detail even at 1024x1024 It's based off the RCS inside the tank walls of KW. Should I change them?

Blackheart these textures are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them with us.

No problem, it's nice to contribute to the community anyway :D

Don't get me wrong. It's good to have something there, I'm just saying that's not the part I was referring to. If I were doing this I'd make those cylinders in a similar way, but silver, not brown.

Right, I was referring to some KW colors though to avoid it looking like a little bit too plain.

I released the 2.5 RCS tank texture as it is now, just download to update. It would just look like the previous pic.

I'll start working on engine fairing textures now :)

Scratch that, I've already tried a design now.

Remember the engine plates? Well I kind of had a problem with it sticking its name out even if it has the fairings on unlike the KW rocketry's. One more is also breaks the pattern if that happens. So I remembered bac9:

Absolutely great work, huge improvement over stock textures! The only thing I'd recommend changing is red captions on the engines: the serif font is very out of place and deep red on dark gray is not a good looking combination in general. I realize KW originals had something like this too, but I think it was one thing not worth reproducing from the otherwise brilliant quality KW texture work.

How does making the walls of the plate white look? In addition, the fairings match it. The inside of the fairing isn't done yet but this is how it looks at the moment:

There is no bump map designated for both engine and the fairing so it's a little bit harder to make it look like it has embossed walls but there's my try. Here it is compared to KW:

That fairing looks wonderful!

Anything that will replace the default dirty grey with either a white or black theme in keeping with the work you have done recently and/or the KW styling will be great.

I like those fairings & engines a lot. I never liked the text on the KW engines, as I'm not a fan of the serif stencil -or- the red text (although I realize it's kind of an homage to the Soviet/Russian engines) although I noticed on the new engines they've dropped the red and are sticking with white and black (like on the Titan V engine).

The new ones are gigantic clusters of engines though. 0_0 and yeah, the matching of the plates in the tanks were nice. Now I shall make it too because Squad has a different fairing usage. :)

Just found this mod today. Instant download! Thanks!:)

I hope you find it good :D

Looking absolutely great.

That means a lot coming from you... did I say this last time you told me that too? Well I should have because it really does :P

Well, I hear a lot of nice feedback with this style so I shall continue using it until all the fairings run out. I must finish this first though. I'll do all the engine fairings as soon as I have time and upload the finished ones. :)

Ah, update on the fairings, I have been trying so hard to replicate the KW inside fairings but it really is impossible unless I increase the resolution. You think I should? It's 512x512 at this moment, obeying the original size, I think it actually looks fine outside. Efficiency and design right? Not like you're going to look the inside part of it hahaha :P

Should I increase or not (not yet sure if it will make a significant difference)?

Should I increase or not?

My answer would be "... there's an inside to the fairing as well?"

IMHO, there's no need to increase a texture size that A, won't be seen very much and B, when it is, the part will be likely be gone within a few seconds or minutes. Why increase memory usage on that? I don't see the need, even if it did look better. Hell, 64but's too unstable for me which means I'm running Aggressive ATM anyway, it's going to look fuzzy anyway :P

Very, very nice mod. Fits perfect with my favorite mod for tanks and engine's KW.

Well done Blackhearth612!!Please keep this mod alive!!!!!!

Will do :D

What did you use to convert those engine MBM's? The MBMConverter I'm using (mbm2png) isn't converting a lot of the textures correctly.

Exactly the stuff I use. I know, those faded stuff are a problem. I create mbms though, not simply convert them. (I import the models, get the existing UV map, make it from there.)

If you use Photoshop, make sure to get SuperPNG, and when you load the PNG, hold down ALT when you click open. Then choose "alpha" not "layer transparency", and "Set Default." That will make your life easier. PS does *not* handle PNG well out of the box.

You my friend are a hero.. So mbm2png WAS converting them correctly just Photoshop wasn't handling it correctly.. The same file that was just a translucent shape on a transparent 512x512 texture is now a full blown workable texture like it should be.. Amazing..

You can also select the image in PS, then hit Layer > New Layer Mask > From Transparency, then drag the mask that is created to a new layer.
