What is your 'Specialty' in KSP?

I find it pleasantly surprising the number of people here who are saying things like 'small', 'unmanned' rather than 'huge', 'moar boosters', 'weapons', etc. I suppose I should have expected it and the huge/moar has a certain appeal of its own but I think this thread shows that KSP players like to think more than most :-) Someone should nudge Rowsdower.

Bac9 said some interesting words in his "The Making of: New KSC" blog. Look at "It’s not Kerbal?" part. It saddens me to see that he left the team and other devs don't support his ideas, at just stick with sloppy designs (Rapier engine as the latest example, so as most of the inconsistency in stock parts, as other) and "moar boosters" theme. It's very, very sad.

I really enjoy planning missions. I started to do this to make really efficient, light rockets with low part count (my computer baulks at anything over 150) and I find it much more rewarding (and less infuriating) than building monster rockets.

Extremely inefficient interplanetary transfers (screw waiting for the right phase angle!) leading to extremely high speed atmospheric entry. Or in the case of Moho, always running out of fuel and making a new crater.

I've flown giant rockets and SSTOs, I've built space stations and interplanetary craft. I even had a ground base on Minmus once.

However, I wouldn't say that my "specialty" is a type of craft. The thing I usually pride myself on are my skills in rendezvous and docking.

Rovers

No mission to another world is complete without a rover to go with it.

Unmanned mapping satellite mission to Duna... well lets take along a mini rover and plonk it on the surface.

Small manned mission to Ike.... the crew need a decent rover to get about... quicker than walking and safer than flying

Giant reseach mission to Jool... lets throw on 2 rovers from the Ike mission, 4 mini rovers and watch my PC melt down as the entire ship goes past 800 parts...

Boris

I've quit drinkign and now my ships look sane....... ish :D

Lately it's been obsessively designing Mun landers. I pay precious little attention to my lifter and spend two hours trying to perfect a relatively light-weight three-Kerbal lander.

I'd understand this obsession more if I hadn't managed one that worked on my second Mun mission attempt. Instead, I'm not satisfied and keep making slightly different ones to see if they work better/are more fuel efficient.
