Thanks for your awesome mod, again!

I'm trying now your new build under Ubuntu 14.04. Most of things works good, but sometimes Earth become very laggy - strange glitches appear on all planet in Scaled Space view. And clouds sometimes hang my laptop (GT630M, Core i5-3210M, 8 GB RAM) - when my capsule reached height of 11 km above the surface after deorbiting, 100% of first core of processor was in work and game completely freezes.

Are this problems only on Linux or they're because laptop isn't powerful?

I think it's party linux, party the mod being heavily WIP, and partly EVE overhaul not working properly yet on linux. Good to here you got linux working btw :)

Have you recently resized earth's clouds? Now they seems to me to be pretty low quality from LEO. (WIN32bit) :(

I've reverted to the original system of having an 8k global cloud texture with opaque detail, as the shadow system and volumetrics do not yet conform too/notice transparency in details. I'm hoping for a fix so I can realistically has the nice detail back :)

You probably already know this but the volumetric clouds are laggy as hell. I had to disable them. And it's not like my pc can't support them... (FX-8300, 16gb ram, 1gb gpu). Even with stock KSP, volumetric clouds always seem to make the game laggy.

By the way, the "CRT-lines" that were reported aren't exclusive to Linux- I get it on Windows 8.1 Pro (64bit) too, running 32bit KSP. They're quite laggy as well.

Are you sure those lines appear on windows? very weird never saw that before on the latest release on w8 :/

Are you certain the clouds are what's lagging? I knew there were performance issues with the atmosphere and water depth factor but nothing knew with the volumetrics? Tbf I did ramp them up allot for RSS scale.

Yes, i'm 100% sure. Once I removed them, all the lag was gone.

i try running it once and the only problem i got from it was when it was very intense to run on the ground, but in orbit it was fine.

looks good so far cant what for the finished product.

Try removing the 3d clouds. I found that they were the main cause of the lag on the ground.

New shots look good! I take it the CRT issue is EVE then? Will the particle textures be getting redone in the next update? They look a bit odd currently, I have not seen any C-shaped clouds before. :P

Ha yeah those were just a mockup, need to work on some better ones really :P

Did you use procedural parts for that orange rocket or is that something else?

Very nice work on the mod by the way!

Thanks yeah, I picked up a pack with loads of textures for the procedural parts somewhere but couldn't say where for sure, sorry

Hey pingopete, do you know if it is possible to edit the ground textures on the moon, how far they appear and stuff like that?

It was really really really hard to see anything during a landing. And the altimeter wasn't useful at all.

Never mind, I just played with EVE manager and ajusted moon's terrain material DetailDist to 0.000005

How do you change the DetailDist?

Edit: IS the Mars to Mordor issue going to be fixed? The detail texture is black and orange.

How do you change the DetailDist?

Alt+E to open Eve menu. Cycle through the menu to go to moon's terrain (ground or something like that). Then adjust terrain material DetailDist to 0.000005. Click apply. If you are happy with the results, click Save. Done! Use bigger values if it lags

If you can't find it, I will try putting on some photos.

Thank you for the JPL website link, it's really interesting :P
