  1. I was looking into Kopernicus planet pack mods compatible with 1.6.1 (because mine was a fail - apparently i was using 1.4 instructions) and all the good ones were outdated (good ones: planet factory, kerbal galaxy, etc). Are there any ones you know of (or have created) that work with 1.6.1? Just wondering.
  2. Props to: @EricL For assistance with normal maps. @The White Guardian For teaching me how to make planets, gas giants etc. via his YouTube tutorials. @Thomas P. For making Kopernicus and maintaining it's status. And everyone else who shows support for this mod! Anyways... Hello, this is the development forum for my first planet pack called Gene's Star (A not-so-obvious ripoff of Barnard's Star), So included in this pack are: Gene's Star: The star that is the center of the whole pack Vulkan: A gas giant quite close to the star which carries the risk of high heat, you can get quite a bit of science from just a fly-by and has one moon. Hestia: A tiny fiery asteroid not too far from Vulkan. Himos: Despite It's vicinity to Gene's Star, it has a comfortable temperature and it has one moon. Amirani: the small, oblate moon of Himos. Zeus: The largest planet in the pack, it comes third after Himos and doesn't have any moons. Vylo: A giant singular rocky planet that has witnessed some stuff in the past, meaning some good science. Agustin: I would personally call this one of the main planets in the pack, it has four moons with varying terrain and a thin atmosphere. Iturbide: A small desert moon. Martinez: Another desert moon. Barcena: Fair-sized moon, Minmus copy. Yanez: The furthest of the quartet, It has plenty of space to establish a station or colony. Duenus: This has the second-most moons (5 moons) in the pack and decent science scores, has a strange pink atmosphere. Arbyl: The first moon in the system, has decent views of the whole system. Tota: The largest moon in this system, being the same size as The Mun. Ubfer: The farthest of the big three, even better views. DU-10: An asteroid moon that goes close and far out over and over. (hedgehog is intentional) Fchillo: The furthest of all the moons, orbits just in Duenus' SOI. Cylar: The Dwarf planet filling the void between Duenus and Haglade, has two moons and blue ice. Mu: Small-ish moon. Nyth: same as Mu. Haglade: This would also be one of the main planets, with seven moons. Yup, you saw that right. Meaning that this has the most moons out of all of them. Mettaris: a moon within Haglade's Rings. Pele: The first one of the Big Quartet, it is a strangely warm moon, getting up to 43°C, maybe it has something to do with Haglade? Vulo: The second and smallest of the Big Quartet, It has some surface ice. Titania: The largest moon in the whole system, over-sizing Cylar and Himos and about 2/3 the size of Kerbin, has a respectable atmosphere of 24km. Buriz: The last of the Big Quartet, it has the best views of the Big Quartet. Hemi: The asteroid moon orbiting between Buriz and Nusku. Nusku: Same situation as Fchillo, except it's the second largest moon in the whole system. Iceos: The final frontier of the system, it's so uninteresting that isn't worth mentioning (like Alaska). Progress chart: Not working on ATM Developing Almost done Just need to iron out bugs Ready for Release ---------------------------------------- Gene's Star Vulkan Hestia Himos Amirani Zeus Vylo Agustin Iturbide Martinez Barcena Yanez Duenus Arbyl Tota Ubfer DU-10 Fchillo Cylar Mu Nyth Haglade Mettaris Pele Vulo Titania Buriz Hemi Nusku Iceos Bugs: Terrain is known to be glitchy (is known and will be fixed soon enough.) ...
  3. Zyansias, a Galactic Cluster mod As it sounds, this mod replaces the stock solar system with a new system, named Fadophis. However, Fadophis isn't the entirety of the scope for this mod; it also includes a region of nearby stars in the galaxy (Nirad). https://imgur.com/a/O1F2M - Current star systems: Zyansias (and its nearby stars: Darat, Zintem, Antin, and Flettor, with its one planet, Pirthes). Zyansias is a massive black hole at the center of this star cluster. It provides us with numerous stars caught and made near this singularity. For now it is the centerpiece of this mod. Tontea, a yellow dwarf star with (currently) one planet, named Cocceen, a massive gas giant which may have been a brown dwarf in the past. It has three moons: Hensi, Teralto, and Ispalis. Nosar, an orange dwarf star with six planets (three gas giants, three terrestrial worlds). I may possibly add dwarf planets/asteroids in the future however. Xinony, a tiny red dwarf star with (one currently) three or four planets. For now, only Vinsys, a titan ice planet with an ice moon, both of which have cracks, water and atmospheres. Fadophis, a blue-white main sequence star with four planets (will increase to six to eight), which are Uonits, Heraut, Caparis, and Plens. Caparis is the home of our race. Andis/Irau, a massive blue main sequence star with a blue-white companion named Irau. In this system are three planets: Sen, Kahn, and Lynt, an exotic green-white gas giant with massive rings. Oirator, a white main sequence oblate star with a moderate size planet system. As of yet, no planets have been made for this system. - Mod compatibilities: Currently, this mod will work with DistantObjectEnhancement and scatterer. I have not yet made compatibilities with other mods as it is in early development. - Having trouble getting imgur album to embed... I want to bring this to the attention of @JadeOfMaar , @Galileo, @Sigma88, and @Gameslinx for now, being relevant creators that may wish to know of this mod anyway. One question I have I will place on strawpoll: http://www.strawpoll.me/14504001 Finally, I planned to make this mod for users to suggest new systems. I only ask that it is kept within reason. Development Team: Tynton (Planet/Star designer, mod lead) JadeOfMaar (Lensflare designer)
  4. THIS MOD IS NOT READY FOR A REVIEW. PAGE WILL GET AN UPDATE SOON™ After almost 50 years of the Kerbal Space Program, Kerbal scientists started to question what other mysteries might be hiding beyond the orbit of Jool. They pointed a telescope at all those distant flickering things in the sky and that day Kerbalkind discovered that they were just a small part of a greater cluster of stars and planets in the neighbourhood of Kerbol! Kerbal Star Systems presents "The Kermes Galaxy", a collection of 150+ celestial objects, 60+ star systems, a revamped Kerbol System, and one very important object to hold it all together, greatly expanding the scope of the Kerbal Universe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAILERS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO REDISTRIBUTE THIS MOD IN A MODPACK OR TO USE THE KSS TEXTURES FOR OTHER PROJECTS This mod is licensed by Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) UNDER REVIEW - DL links not AVAILABLE ! 5. Hi. I am trying to use Kopernicus to change Duna in a partialy terraformed version of it. Steps: - Increase atmospheredensity and add oxygen. (done). - add small areas of water. And here the problems start. I was able to add a ocean but i have massive z-fighting (or something that looks similar). The water is not visible on the map. The closer you get the more z-fighting and finaly the water vanishes. There seem to be no textures on the water. Anyone able to show me my mistakes? modifications in system file: here some pictures:

for making the realistic atmosphere tool that all the bodies used The sunflares used in this mods are kindly provided by @JadeOfMaar's SunflaresOfMaar, used with permission Some of the EVE textures used for this mod is from Astronomer's Visual Pack created by @themaster401 I would also like to thank Thomas P for upkeeping Kopernicus, TheWhiteGuardian's tutorials and everyone in the Kopernicus Discord for helping me with my newbie planet making problems. *Also I think I've made countless typos throughout this post, which will hopefully be fixed
  7. Hi, every solar system mod-maker out there, (especially ProtoJeb21) please can I request a new mod to be made (And to persuade KottabosGames to check it out when its done!)? No offense, it's just because I don't know how to make new solar systems. There are 5 new solar systems, but you can add them one by one. Thanks! Also, I'll submit the equatorial radius, to make things easier. Also, this mod is called Interstellar Defense planets rejiggered with moons, because the stars and planets are from a game called Interstellar Defence. I modified each one a bit , placed them with different stars and also added moons. I also modified the stars to be more realistic. Thanks for your consideration, and hope to see these enter KSP soon! The key: No hyphens: star 1 hyphen (-): planet 2 hyphens (--): moon 1. Alpha R24 system 2. Cygnus R10 system (Please add this one first) 3. Kepler R26 system 4. Europa R12 system 5. Fermi R25 system (please do this one after Cygnus R10) These are all the systems Interstellar Defense planets rejiggered with moons should add in! If you like the suggestions, you could start making this mod, and if you do, please let me know, thanks!
  8. So im looking for a large planet pack that runs quickly. I'm looking for quantity over quality, and the mod needs to be 1.4.5. Send me your suggestions!
  9. I'm having issues setting up a Moon's ScaledVersion in Kopernicus, no matter what I do, I can't get the ScaledVersion to accurately portray the Heightmap of the moon. A gif of what I'm talking about is linked here. Help would be appreciated! Also, here's the Moon's Config: https://pastebin.com/kJNizR7k
  10. Half Size Real Solar System (5x Kerbin scale) HalfRSS is a mod that uses the great work from @NathanKell and creates our Real Solar System in a smaller scale in KSP. At half the size of the RSS, HalfRSS is still 5 times larger than stock KSP and provides a huge challenge to players, but can be achieved with stock parts. I always loved the idea of playing in our Real Solar System, but I am not a good enough player to be able to accomplish that on the grand RSS scale. The guys over at Stock Size RSS gave me the inspiration for this with their awesome work, but I found that size to be easier than I hoped for. I am hoping that this is a good balance between stock sizes and full size RSS. You can play this without using Realism Overhaul and without having to create super huge launchers to get anywhere. SPECIAL THANKS: @NathanKell and the entire Real Solar System group for creating almost everything that is released in this mod @CaptRobau for letting me use his planets Thatmo and Slate from the Outer Planets mod as two of the Dwarf Planets that we know almost nothing about @OhioBob for creating the atmospheres that are present in the mod The entire Kopernicus team for creating the mod that makes this all possible! @Thomas P. @NathanKell @KillAshley @Teknoman117, Bryce Schroeder @ImkSushi and @pozine for their work on Real Solar System Expanded that provided Ceres and Vesta PLANETARY BODIES INCLUDED: DOWNLOAD: GITHUB: https://github.com/pap1723/HalfRSS/releases SPACEDOCK: http://spacedock.info/mod/787/Half Size RSS https://github.com/pap1723/HalfRSS-Textures/releases - These are the textures that are necessary to download Included in the download: Half RSS Mod files Module Manager (by @sarbian, @swamp_ig, @ialdabaoth) See thread for details, license, and source: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55219 Kopernicus - See thread for details, license, and source: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/114649 A configuration for Custom Asteriods by Starstrider42. See thread for details, license, and source: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/80483 INSTALLATION: Extract to KSP/GameData. You should have one dll (Module Manager) in the root of GameData, and three new folders: HalfRSS, Kopernicus and ModuleFlightIntegrator. However, you are NOT DONE YET. TEXTURE INSTALLATION: Now, you must select a texture resolution. Download a pre-made pack (8192, 4096, or 2048) and then, if desired, selectively replace with different-resolution texutres. Note that 8192 is dangerous: you will almost assuredly run out of memory on 32-bit versions of the game. You can get the textures from: https://github.com/Pap1723/HalfRSS-Textures Go to the releases page and grab one of the resolution packs, then (optionally) get replacements from the repo itself. The path of the folder will be KSP/GameData/RSS-Textures Make sure you download from here and not the other RSS versions. There are additional biomes as well as additional planets that are included with the HalfRSS version. RECOMMENDED MODS: Custom Asteroids by @Starstrider42 - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/72785-11x-custom-asteroids-131-may-7/ Parts Mods can be helpful to have larger launchers (SpaceY, RealScaleBoosters-use stock config, KW Rocketry, etc) This list will continue to grow as I add more of the mods I love to use with it FUTURE PLANS: Create RemoteTech Configs (this is done, just need to test for release) Configs for AntennaRange (this is included, but need to test for ranges) Configs for Kerbalism New Science definitions for new planets and moons Height maps for all of Saturn's moons New Biomes for all of Saturn's moons More, much, much more! 11. How did this happen? I blame kopernicus, but I can't delete it cause I need it for sigma. The reentry effects trigger about 20 m/s.... help.
  12. This is a continuation of my mod Realistic Remodel. (Almost) Real Solar System is kerbalized version of Real Solar System. It keeps the stock planets but changes them to be more realistic. The orbits and sizes of planets have been changed to be in the same ratios as our solar system. Some planets have been moved around to fill in some gaps, and names of some planets have been changed as well. A few color changes have been made, and more are planned. Kopernicus and Sigma Dimensions are required and OPM is highly recommended. Download Imgur Album Scaling: I have added a scaling feature using Sigma dimensions to allow you to change the difficulty according to you. The default setting is about 2.5x stock scale, while the atmospheric height and rotational period are the same, but this can always be changed in the settings file. Color Changes: Some of the planets have a had their color changed to be more similar to reality. Marcx (Previously Duna) have been changed to be more of a rusty color than a bright red. All four gas giants have slightly different colors, with Jool's being the most extreme. Compatibility: Distant Object Enhancement: Added configs to support color changes of planets. KSC Switcher: Added 4 additional launch sites around Kerbin. (In my testing the download from the RO repository here works) RemoteTech: Added an assortment of preset configs to choose from in the in-game settings. You can also create your own. Planned Features: Color change for other planets, including Vixen, and various moons. Support for visual mods. (SVE and EVE kinda work) Maybe additional bodies. MIT License
  13. The Orbus Planet Overhaul is a planet pack based on a fictional solar system I envisioned when I was younger. It aims to consist of 13 planets and 23 moons (a lot, I know), all orbiting around a single (possibly blue) star named Orbus. *Please wait with reviews until I get this mod to where I want it reviewed* THE PLANETS Screenshots CHANGELOG: v0.2 - Added a bunch of new planets and moons - Did some retexturing, tweaking - Descriptions! Thanks to @Greatness101 - Fixed a bunch of bugs - Everything is for the most part playable v0.1 - Added Cronis - Added Winsor - Added Crys - Added Ocan - Added Dus - Added Dune - Added Gigantor - Added Minian - Added Pentum Download here! 14. This was a failure and it makes me cringe so bad Cyperion Kerbol but smaller. I'm planning on making it fancier later on Kerana A massive rocky planet which is the result of 4 other massive rocky planets colliding. Dominicus Huge blue gas giant. To do List: Add biomes Make more bodies Learn how to make sunflares Make Cyperion look better So yeah, That's all I have. Not gonna give the download link until I have at least 4 finished planets.
  15. Sorry about the delay in the re-posting of this thread, work life has had me running around without a lot of free time lately! What is KCM? The Kopernicus Creativity Marathon is an open competition for all who want to try their hand at planet creation. Every so often either myself or @Thomas P. will post a new challenge for all to try their hand at. After the closing date for each competition we will judge the entries and announce a winner! That winner will then be put forward and integrated into a "community planet pack" that will be polished up by myself & @Thomas P. to ensure the contestant's planets are as good as they can be. Each competition will be judged in our free time, so please don't bug us for results until they are announced, likewise subsequent rounds might experience delays depending on our personal lives, but we will try to have a new one as soon as we can after the previous round (but no promises on how long the delay will be) How to enter; To enter for a leg of the marathon all you need to do is read the current rules and details regarding what we are looking for in this round, then after you created a new planet simply PM myself and @Thomas P. with your files so we can judge them after the closing date. Rules; Planets must be made using the current version of Kopernicus available during the competition. Any planets that don't work with the most recent version will be disqualified. Planets must be created specifically for this contest, any planets that are found to be part of existing planet packs will be disqualified. Any planets must be entered for the competition before the completion of each round. Any planets sent to us after the final day will be ignored. All planets must be released to myself and @Thomas P. under a MIT license. This is so we can polish the worlds and eventually release them as a community planet pack for all to enjoy. Any people who wish to release their planets to us under a different license must disclose so to us. (Please note; upon release of the community pack all credit will be given to the original creator of the planets. None will be taken by us) Any entry containing generic Space Engine export planets (ie; ones not heavily edited to actually look good in KSP) will be disqualified. One planet per person, but this does not mean just one person per planet (co-operation with other people is fine however "group entries" will only be allowed one single body) Ideas should be kept to the individual/groups creating the body. No plans, ideas, or anything else about your worlds should be discussed in this or any other thread. This thread is for announcements, rule/contest clarification, and general feedback. more to come too when i remember..... Current Competition; Round #4 Closed! Post Date - 2nd August 2016 Closing Date - 2nd September 2016 Previously regarded as the building blocks of bodies themselves, now known to be the floating fragments from millennia-old collisions, asteroids are always floating about our systems. Today your task will be to create a new small asteroid streaking across our system. Round Rules; -Size must be be between 10 and 30km radius (giving extra size for people struggling with small-scale PQS) -It's orbit must be relatively stable (don't make the orbits too rediculous) -Try to strike a balance between realism and beauty (a clump of loose rock doesn't have to look boring) -Bonus points for the most unique shapes Previous Rounds; Round #1 Create a moon for Dres Winning entry @tygoo7 for his moon Plez Round #2 Create a planet with an ocean Winning entry @The White Guardian with his planet Cerillion Round #3 Open Contest - Create any single body Winning entry @Agent-Daniel_46 for his world Trin
  16. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nearly 5 Billion years ago, a small yellow star formed in a weird dense Universe. its name... Was Kerbol, and around it formed 7 planets, Moho, Eve, Kerbin, Duna, Dres, Jool and Eeloo. From her tender embrace, life would evolve, getting more and more advanced in each generation. Till a sapient species known as the kerbals came into being. Sadly, Kerbol formed in a region where stars were rare, and thus kerbalkind was stranded to their own system until FTL drives were developed. But what if Kerbol formed in a area located inside a rich cluster of stars, a... Kluster... If you like.. And whats more... Kerbol formed with more materials to spare, producing a larger and more unique system, one that may seem strange to the normal eye.. And maybe, some planets close to home are different as well... First off, what the heck is Kluster? Kluster is a (sort of) old mod founded in early 2016, by me. Originally supposed to feature many systems, it quickly fell apart due to the main modder, protojeb21, had things to do in his life. Now however, I decided to revive it, and revamp it. Many planets will change, and so will the kerbol system, but many concepts will remain the same... What can we anticipate in Kluster? A ton of Star systems, although the first iterations would start off with barely any systems, over time this mod will grow! Another thing is a near total change to the Kerbol system, new and interesting worlds have formed around Kerbol, and with more planets, more gravitational dances have formed. An example is Duna and Kerbin, Both have been captured by a large oxygen gas giant with small rings (Yea its cliche. But come on! Its cool looking at a gas giant in the sky!.) And whats more, Duna and kerbin... Have found themselves in a eternal dance around their Parent, forever twirling around a baycenter (hopefully if it doesnt glitch.) Forever in each others sights... 17. *Old Banner. Will be changed* Kerbal-kind has always been intrepid and willing to blaze trails. An incident stopped this behavior for a long, long while. However, with a little help, the Kerbals are ready to blaze a trail to the stars... This fan work is the first time I've ever written something that is not a short story. Feedback on my writing methods and other things are highly encouraged. Also, Starstuff will avoid spoilers for the upcoming KSS storyline. Do not fret. Thanks to the KSS Team and Supporters for inspiring me to do this. Check out the mod HERE! Prologue: This Post. 18. Welcome to the Kopernicus Procedural Quad Sphere Library Expansion, or KLE for short. So, you're probably wondering, TWG, what IS KLE? Allow me to tell you all about it. KLE is a .dll file containing several scripts that add various new generation options to users. You see, KSP creates planets using something called 'Procedural Quad Sphere Mods'. Minmus, for example, is the product of the PQSMod 'VertexPlanet'. Gilly is the result of 'VertexSimplexHeightAbsolute'. KLE adds several new PQSMods, using the Microsoft C# coding language to give planet creators several new options, things that weren't possible before. Users can also suggest custom PQSMods although, mind you, not everything is possible. No 'planet sculpters'. Current PQSMods included: AltitudeMath CoastlineSmoother FlattenRange HeightColorMap3 (WIP) HybridNoise (after a suggestion by @GregroxMun) MapArtist SimplexNoiseRange SmoothenAltitude VertexCanyons VertexNoiseRange Special mods: ParadiseSpike - an in-dev mod aiming to generate something like this: In-dev PQSMods: - Templator, enter a planet type and it generates a base planet. - And many more that I forgot about... 19. So, what are your top 5 (or less) planet packs? Mine:
  20. I was getting no error message until I reinstalled stuff for something else. Now I get this error. So in my modded KSP 1.3.1 install, I was having issues with invisible terrain, so I removed all mods and readded them manually one by one until I found the issue to be with kopernicus (update to the latest version, kopernicus 1.3.1-9, fixed it). After replacing the rest, however, kopernicus gave this error on the start screen, and I would get an endless load screen when trying to start any game. Reverting to previous kopernicus didn't fix it, and after removing and replacing mods one by one again, I found the issue to be with SVE and OPM. The game would work fine if I included all mods except the SVE folder. Same if I included all (including kopernicus) but the OPM folder. However, with just SVE, OPM, and their dependencies, I get the same kopernicus error and I can't figure out why or how to fix it. It's driving me mad, as I have to choose between OPM and clouds now... I'm running KSP 1.3.1, kopernicus 1.3.1-9, OPM 2.2.1, EVE 1.2.2-1, and SVE 1.3.0.4 with low res textures. Here's my output_log, and my gamedata folder looks like this.
  21. So, I install Kopernicus+dependencies, and a planet pack. No planets are added. Also, When I install SVE, (still with Kopernicus+dependencies) No clouds are added and jool rings are a boring gray disc. Also on a Mac. EDIT: GPO WURKS!
  22. So I'm currently making a system rearrangement thing that doesn't use all of the stock planets, so I wanted to remove the ones I'm not using from the game. I've tried twice with no success, so I was just wondering how to do it in 1.4.3 if it's even possible.
  23. The Challenge Planet Pack(CCP) is A Kopernicus-Based Modification that adds a total of 4 New Objects(As of v 0.1). From the hottest oceans to the lowest gravity, CCP is sure to give some challenge! [more soon] Note: When Downloading V 0.2, download 0.1, run it once, and then replace the textures provided by 0.2. 24. Firstly, I need to thank all of the folks who made this possible: @Gravitasi - For making the original Trans-Keptunian mod (which I'm butchering... sorry.) @The White Guardian - For making the great tutorials that finally got my foot into the kopernicus door. @CaptRobau - For making the Outer Planets mod and creating a standard of beauty t work towards. @GregroxMun - For making RevSS and other planet packs which initially inspired me (and for setting another standard of beauty). @KillAshley - For providing configs for me to rip apart and repurpose. sorry. @Thomas P. - For developing kopernicus in the first place. Download @ Spacedock Have you ever thought to yourself, "Y'know, There really aren't enough objects like Dres and Eeloo"? No? I don't care, It's happening anyway. Yes? Good for you! This planet pack aims to add an assortment of brightly colored rocks to the outer solar system, the near-vacant space between Duna and Jool, and even adding moons to certain bodies!
