The Stone Bridge Raceway Set I would first like to mention The Stone Bridge structural design was very challenging. After completing the Bridge I couldn’t get myself to release just a Bridge without a purpose so I thought about making cars that could pass underneath it. This created another challenge, making the span at the center wide enough to allow a vehicle to pass. Because these items I used as blocks were made in sections for copy and paste it made this a very difficult task. It looks really nice at night and racing cars through the Pylons looks great at night also but this makes bad video, so night video was left out. Setting Pylons with the Pylon Setter Craft is a slow process but it’s worth it’s time for the fun. Also Car 7 is making some nice long jumps, as for the speed goes it's not what you would think for an Indy Car but it’s still a lot of fun. Three Cars were planned to be released for this project but I decided on releasing only one. Stone Bridge Stone Bridge Raceway (Bridge with an Underpass) Car 7 Pylon Setter Operations: Set all Pylons first then set the Bridge on the Runway. When setting the Pylons be sure the craft is completely stopped before releasing the Pylons, if they fall over this is not a problem, the Pylons can erect themselves using the ASDW keys. Car 7 is doing great with the throttle set at half, Engine at Dry with brakes used as needed to maintain speed. I think I've been very naughty with a craft or two , but hey I would have never reached Warp speed. I'll behave in the future. Also isn't that how a Flux Capacitor is made?

Kopernicus: Elite Dangerous Space Stations

"you could hyperedit yourself into orbit of the station" Are we talking Kerbal Universe here? I can go for that! I am thinking of Space Craft warping to other Solar Systems....hum!- 19 replies

Cargo Ship "Seahorse" Update: 02.17.17 Well this craft was another lost during my Camelback Bridge Project mishap. The original craft used the Hull of the Riptide craft so I was able to began a rebuild starting with the Hull. I removed the Engines from the sides and placed them underneath the Hull. I also added lots of details on the interior, the doors are 6 Airbrakes that swing open. The Wheel House now has an open view for the Kerbal to look out, but this still may not be the best looking design. The more I look at them side by side the more I am considering the original look, even placing the Engines back on the sides might be a good idea. I am open for suggestions. Man that Chopper is looking nice! I've been working on one of these but can't get the RPM's I need to lift with the bearing I am experimenting with. I might go with a Dual Rotor, it won't matter because it's not a replica. I haven't revealed it nor a few project that I have on the back burner because I have too many already on here that are not completed yet . -

The Camelback Bridge Update: 02.15.17 Can someone feel a little sick with me? The Camel broke it's back no pun intended. I had 8 sections of the Bridge at location and the Entrance section flipped on reentry from a save, although I do have to say the new physics easing is so nice, this was an awesome update to KSP, the Squad has heard my cry . So that Entrance section was not the worst part of what happen, I was starting to launch four more sections to the location and BAM! Crash!! I went back to the saved game and BAM! that game save has an ERORR feeling sick with me yet? I was so discouraged I then delete the game save before saving the craft files . Well there is a good side to all this mishap, I have gained some building skills and now have a cleaner looking bridge, I set the Pontoons underneath the deck. I now also have an idea of how much gap there is between the land maybe too much . On another note, this bridge could be done with a lot less parts to make this connection to the small island but the structural design of the Camelback looks so nice I am going to roll with it. Eight Sections on location BAM!!! -

Camelback Bridge Project 02.12.17 Update It's been a long slow trip to the Location (Shown on the Map below). I've made many trips to the Bridge while it was on it's way to location with the Bridge traveling at an average speed of about 11 m/s. At the moment I am nearing the Location where I plan to get these sections into place then take some estimates on how many additional sections will be needed. The Aqua Tram was modified with an Adapter to Refuel the Bridge, this craft has been working but with too many trips having to be made. Another craft (Shown below) was then designed which is larger and arriving at the Bridge with a near 4600 load of fuel. Vernor Engines were added for maneuvers, these were giving enough power to also steer the Bridge while underway. Map of Location Fuel Express One (New Refueling Craft) -

Thank you man! The staircase I hope will not require the Kerbals need of the F key to climb, haven't tried them yet, that's why I have them on a slight incline. -

Cargo Ship "Seahorse" I am guessing one more WIP can't hurt? During my Bridge Project I needed to push or refuel the Bridge during it's journey to the Location and have some temporary push bars on the head. Neither are working Plans are to keep tweaking it as I am using it for better maneuvering and material hauling. Lagging was an issue with the Bridge and the Ship in the same playing field so I won't be getting these two next to each other too often. Long Range Shipping is not a problem for this big guy! -
@EVA_Reentry Thank you! @Azimech gave me some pointers on a few settings for the Aircraft and it's flying much better. I know a little about Aircraft and how they handle but I don't go into many details when I build them. I enjoy doing design and fabrication most in KSP and leave the detail work for those that enjoy the builds. Below is what Azimech suggested and I love this kind of feed back from others, I am not one to knock good criticism, I am still learning a lot about Space, Rocketry & Aircraft and one particular that's a strain on the brain......SSTO's.....haha! Azimech's Changelog: * Added leading edge and normal flaps to the wing. * Increased the angle of incidence and gave it a dihedral. * Moved the main gear down and a bit to the rear. * Moved the nose gear down as well. * Added a rear wheel for safety (likely not needed). * Changed all control surfaces to have a single task. * Added a few autostruts to make it all a bit more rigid. * Set the horizontal stabilizer to zero degrees. The flaps are extended at default. The first time you need to doubletap to raise them. Action group: RCS. With these changes the aircraft will take off at ~62m/s without control input or SAS. After raising flaps it will nose down a bit but above 120m/s it will climb by itself. Landing: you can make a threepoint landing with throttle at 45 - 50% with hardly any control input, 50 - 60 m/s. Thank you! Can't image my stuff getting down voted and yes, a look-alike won't be happening too much on KSP until we get more Tails, Cockpits & Fuselage among a few others, I don't strain myself much for exact replicas and I can live with or without more stock parts, but more is always better!

Head South from the Space Center then follow the Coastline West @Azimech There is an alternate route but you might be better off using the map! -

Camelback Bridge Project 02.08.17 I located a new place for Bridge Building, it's still a good ways out from the Space Center but looks like a nice location because of the somewhat small gaps between land and the shallow water. Rather than shipping each section on the Barge like shown in the picture above, I am going to try this....Camelback Bridge Train -
