1) the simple fact is the old Gemini was very unrealistic and overpowered. Take it up with NASA I suppose? You can easily add 4, 6 etc thrusters. 2) Good catch, idk how that happened. A small thing, not in game yet... the Gemini Rendezvous/Radar Evaluation Pod. Effectively a battery, some antennas, a radar transponder, and some blinking lights. Designed to help test the Gemini radar system and practice rendezvous techniques, it fits in the 'trunk' of the SM. Hopefully its fun for people to take up on one of their early missions

The real ones were 440 N That actually reminds me, I owe y'all these... the Lunar Recon SM (which effectively just welds together the retro and equipment modules, replicating the old functionality) and the bare/empty version of the Equipment module. I'll try to get these in game soon. EDIT: Oh, should have included this - for anyone wondering what Lunar Recon SM I'm referencing...

What "crappy drogue chute"? The Gemini one? I'm still troubleshooting it. My first thought was that would be hard since the GEMs live on that texture sheet. But then I thought for a second more... I suppose people would be happy to have black filament-wound-case looking variants of the GEMs? That way we could have blue and green variants of the boattail. I wouldn't hold out for more than that though. Sorry for not responding to your SNAP-19 questions btw. Kept meaning to. The answer is "a collection of RTGs for this update haven't been descoped, but they're definitely not on my mind right now". No ETA, don't want to say definitively whether they'll be included this update. Follow up on this - my fixes were unsuccessful. Will have to keep trying. This has been an ongoing issue with a lot of my radial decouplers. Not sure why. That is absolutely lovely as always, Alpha. Wish I had time to spare to build pads. Usually I'm just trying to launch something as quick as possible to test whatever.

Yeah that's on my to-do for today. Sorry for the lack of updates lately y'all. But here's some pics of the current state of Gemini. The biggest thing left for the minimum capsule config is basically redoing the parachute canopies again. I also want to get the horizon scanner part made. There's some other stuff, like the antennas, that would have been on all the capsules but I'm not super worrying about them at the moment unless I can fit them on the capsule texture sheet.

As of right now I'm really just focusing on getting back up to where we were in terms of Gemini content; I'm not planning on adding entirely new mission profiles. I do know that the Gemini Direct Ascent would have to wait until the Saturn revamp since the diameter is tied to the S-IVB diameter. Same for the Big G '67 (conical SM). Apologies for the lack of progress/updates lately y'all. Made the mistake of buying Fallout 76 and have just been like... depression gaming for a week straight now.

Making it so they respect the proper VAB (and thus navball) orientation. It was an overdue fix; I wasn't paying attention to it until recently. EDIT: It's real melatonin hours but I realized I should explain more. What we're trying to fix is, for example, if you build Mercury - that follows the navball orientation. The window is "up" if you're flying prograde above a planet. If you build it proper like that, the Atlas would have been 90 degrees off. So you either have to rotate the whole LV 90 degrees under the payload, or deal with it being... well, wrong Titan had the same problem.

[POLL]Stockalike vs Realistic textures
CobaltWolf replied to VoidCosmos's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
BDB is supposed to fit in with Restock and other mods stylistically -
The early (technical a UBT?) boattail is kinda supposed to be agnostic, since Thor was used in so many variants. To me it seemed simple enough to line up the decouplers (which I also have to fix still...) with the bottom of the boattail. The old boattail, like Zorg said, is being stripped of the engine and verniers and needs a texture pass. I also need to fix the new tankage to be able to get rid of the old Delta II tankage. The current lengths are wrong... hopefully I can also give the blue tankage variant a bit more character too, which IMO its currently lacking. My brain is fried from all the Gemini stuff and getting through the more complex remaining things. Would people be happy if I took an afternoon to try and finish sorting out the outstanding issues with the Thor/Delta stuff in the meantime?

It very much is not all internal. Both S-II insulation schemes were external (and yes, the last couple of flights used a form of SOFI but I don't know if the formula was the same ie whether it would look like a shuttle ET.) http://heroicrelics.org/info/s-ii/s-ii-insulation.html The S-IV and S-IVB used internal insulation, but I believe some fears of it breaking off and being ingested by the engines led to the scheme being abandoned after those flew. https://cdm16608.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/p16608coll1/id/4082/

It will happen at some point, yeah. Just haven't gotten around to it. I also want to try and bully Zorg into doing it so I don't have to Ancient history at this point that might help explain things - our "CADS" ports are borrowed from the old CX Aerospace mod and are, in fact, APAS ports or whatever. At this rate I assume I'd have to remake them proper some day but idk. I don't have any intention of making the rest of Freedom, but on the other hand we have the later Apollo versions... I believe @Beale recently made an APAS-75 for Tantares? Who knew Gemini had so much crap sticking out of it? Heatshield will have a toggleable MOL hatch (doesn't really affect gameplay but its there) This is mostly just to give an idea of what's visible once the docking port is jettisoned (parachute bag removed for clarity)
