What Facts Do We Know About The Devs Leaving?
Curveball Anders replied to Mycroft's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So you think it's relevant to bring this on. Despite the fact that KSP appears to be trudging on, the mods are getting updated and 1.2.1 is released. (Is the issue really about the new devs not chatting on the forums?). Mark Twain comes to mind, the rumour of KSP's demise seems quite premature. -
Constructual pylon & Small hardpoint

I respectfully disagree with your disagree. So we respectfully agrees to disagree, hopefully the kids will learn. -
KSP in VR
Curveball Anders replied to I_Killed_Jeb's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Getting a game to work in VR means that it has to be designed for VR. Bodging VR on afterwards just doesn't work. All the "I'd love to play xyz in VR" is actually saying, "if it was designed for it from scratch". It's been discussed for 20+ years in the the fps and flight sim community, it's an extremely dead horse. There will be VR games off all kinds, but they will be designed as VR games. Not patched in behind. -
Constructual pylon & Small hardpoint

What are constructual pylon & small hardpoint? Oh, aircraft parts. Nevermind, move on. -
MER-C appears to be able to hit 30m/h. Serendipitous Space Company's 'Nyfikenheten' hits 30 m/s. Even if the KER readout states "in space low" instead of "landed" which might explain some issues.

Yep, even reverts and quick saves can fail due to craft switching and such. Not to mention that excrements tends to happen when you're so sure that it's just another routine launch.
-
Indeed. It's when you think you're running a 'routine mission' that you'll get caught. The intense feeling of '[explicit explicit explicit] - this is going to [very hot mythological place] in a hand basket'. But you manage to wrangle yourself out of it (by all kinds of bizarre and Kerbal methods) and it feels so good.

There's also the simple case of creating a backup copy of your working directory before any update.

How do you remap rover controls?
Curveball Anders replied to LunchIn10Seconds's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Coordinates are based on your point of control. Which means that your Rovers view of the world is that it's a rocket. I normally add a jr docking port and then control my rovers from it. -
In general I would agree with you. But the reality is that the hurt is decided by the receiver. I don't feel any pain when I kick your shin, you might have another opinion

Monster Core is Go! There will be landers, comsats and probes added (and there will be _many_ Progress(tm) launches to fuel that stand-up guy). But the core for future Duna/Dres missions is in orbit. Edit: Common term for Illegitimate offspring is changed by the Forum software to "that stand-up guy"? Intriguing, I think I'll rename Monster Core to "That Stand-up Guy" ...

1.2.1 is out and all my mods (all ten-ish of them) works. Onward to Kerbol orbit, rescues and switch of crews.

Proper Job Squad. Thank you.

What is the Earliest massive forum controversy that you remember?
Curveball Anders replied to Rath's topic in Kerbal Network
First and current Is XYZ cheating. -
Quads are nice.

It must be specific conditions because I've played for many hours without restarting the game, with plenty of hopping around and return to VAB/Launch. And also left it in the background for hours and not seen the slightest hint of memory leaks. KSP_x64.exe stays around 2.4-2.6G of dedicated memory.

Finally took my Solar Station One to it's intended orbit (it's been waiting in Mun orbit, docked to Mun Station One, for a long time). The contract stipulated > 6000 units of oxidiser so it was a wee bit strange (saved by DMagic's EVA Struts) I trimmed the trust of the main engine to 10% to keep it from breaking apart so the burn took 13 minutes ... Edit: Noticed that one of the EVA struts securing the side tanks was actually misplaced. So I had send Podwell out for another EVA, this time in Solar orbit, to fix his earlier mistake. Silly reaction to a game but it felt kind of real and a bit heart-pounding just as if I was watching a real astronaut doing repairs on ISS ...

The Grand KSP 1.2 Discussion Thread
Curveball Anders replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You can also turn them off in the settings. For which your GPU will thank you -
Necro thread. But we'll get Asteroid Day back, once they've recovered from the 1.2 launch.
