KSP2 Release Notes

I managed to get my pre-release updated to latest. Then spent 3 hours abusing the game looking for issues, only to find that every issue I found was already on the tracker and listed as verified and/or fixed in the next release. Then I started a new career game, managed to get Val and Bill to the Mün and back, without finding any more bugs/glitches. In all a failed day, but fun as always.

In a RL or a flight sim the terms are span and chord (and a lot of other obscure terms). In KSP it's length, width, spread, pointyend, triangularish or fat(-ish).

The v1.2 Hype Train Thread - Prerelease is Out
Curveball Anders replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually, they said 'at least' two weeks in pre-release before adding final polish and go for release. But it's only Dev Notes that are released on tuesdays(-ish), the release can be any day of the week. (Even if deeply ingrained industry standard is to release on tuesdays, for logistic reasons).- 1,592 replies

Of course not, it's a simulation of life. Just not a very serious simulation of life, rather a simulation of a not very serious life.

I've tracked down my parser crashes to the concept of "KSP" and "serious" in the same sentence. I'll continue to debug my parser.

The v1.2 Hype Train Thread - Prerelease is Out
Curveball Anders replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've always been told that during ascent/descent attitude/trim controls airspeed, power controls vertical speed. But I fully understand your point, I'd like to have that too. My point was just that the ability to set a fixed speed, slope or climb (or hold) requires an auto pilot. And as far as I know, there's no atmospheric auto pilot in stock KSP (yet).- 1,592 replies

I'm unable to reply since every time I get this far in the text my parser breaks down with 'does not compute' and refuses to redo from start.

And next week we'll get told that the release of 1.2 has been delayed since all staff has been tied down in meetings, discussions and heated arguments about Kerbal anatomy ... Thanks Mikki ...

The v1.2 Hype Train Thread - Prerelease is Out
Curveball Anders replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Erh? The use of trim (alt+wasd by default) is quite common and normal for most aircraft. To keep ASL over time requires an active auto-pilot, which isn't included in stock KSP :/- 1,592 replies

That is correct for Steamheads only. Others use our store accounts and scroll down and select the appropriate download.

Videos are for tubers. But printed books doesn't cut it for software that changes faster than printing cycles. Wiki's are the way, once you learn to keep an eye on 'date of last update'.

Erh? A little bit more info maybe? Platform, patchlevel, game selection, save file, log ... -
Ask @Arrowstarhis KSP Trajectory Tool is quite good.

And for that I'm grateful

But we already have that, we share our crafts and screenshots from our achievements. We have competitions with random limitations.

I spend my RL adapting (possibly more than) a little to 'other people'. In KSP I don't have too, I can play the way I want. and I don't have to bother with adapting to 'normies'

Supercomputers did such tasks back in the 60's. Those supercomputers had about the computational power as your average microwave oven today. A 10 tear old average business laptop has 100x the computational power of the supercomputers of the 60's.

But it doesn't explain why anyone would want to play KSP MP. It's technically possible to sync, but it doesn't explain why. KSP is you versus physics, you can read what the sages say, you can download crafts from masters. So why would anyone want MP?

Is it true that most KSP players never go interplanetary?
Curveball Anders replied to KerikBalm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Same here, I check my transfer windows at the start of each career game, and plan my missions from that. In my currently active save I have my Duna run planned and in orbit, ready to blast off in about 138 days. But I don't time warp to that time, instead I fiddle with minor missions, gawkers, rescue missions and so on to add cash and rep. I could just time warp, but that's not the way I play, -
I just don't understand what you'd want from multiplayer in a game like KSP. Could someone just describe how they think KSP mp should work?

It's a pre-release, to find bugs, report it.
