  1. I was quite lazy with the Hunter and just threw the intakes on. I'll sort them tonight. I made a Vampire a while back that had quite nice intakes, made by completely removing the the leading edge on the wing root and using control surfaces and tweak-scaled fuselage pieces and a few intakes. I'll get a photo up soon.
  2. @Van Disaster @Surefoot Thanks for the kind words guys! The length is dead on 14.8m, the length of the real thing itself. The wingspan I'm not too sure of, but I've fixed the leading edge sweep of the inboard wing piece. The same could be said of this Hunter F. 1 here, the length is exact but I'm not too sure about the wings.
  3. "If it looks right, it flies right." This is a pretty accurate (I like to think) replica of the Hakwer Hunter F. 1, with a custom AJE Avon engine. I was almost shocked to see how closely it performed to the real deal, which I suppose just shows you how powerful FAR is. I also made custom ADEN 30mm guns, they're a good laugh.
  4. Oh, now this was cool. You've completely transformed the Kestrel, not to mention how good a fight that was. The Huginn is quite a pretty thing, I adore your building style. Did you tweak any of the Ai settings on the Kestrel M? I don't know what half the stuff means lmfao.
  5. @Van Disaster Until recently I didn't quite have the whole "weight shedding" thing down yet . In the meanwhile, here's something I threw together entirely out of PWings (and a few other bits). This orthographic view really doesn't do the fuselage cross-section justice (it looks a lot like an early Yak's). Weighs 3 tons on the dot and is slightly larger than a real-life Bf 109. (Kronal Vessel Viewer hates PWings lmfao) If you'd like the craft file to try out I could upload it to KerbalX, but bear in mind it uses Infernal Robotics, some other cosmetic mods, AJE and an older (but fully working) addon to AJE called Real Airplanes.
  6. Whilst brainstorming and looking at some of @Z1 M4N's designs I realised that B9 Procedural wings can be used in conjunction with FAR to make realistically shaped and potentially limitless fuselage pieces for smaller planes. Not only do they look more convincing, they also act (aerodynamically speaking) like a real fuselage would. B9 PWings also allow for realistic open cockpits and the ability to completely paint the plane. So, I got to work and churned out the 'Calliope'. It was more or less inspired by late-model Spitfires, and flew far more realistically than any plane I'd built previously. The main advantage was it is significantly lighter compared to my conventionally built planes (3 or so tons fully loaded). Performance-wise everything was there, but the one thing that annoyed me was the lack of a cockpit frame to finish the look. Initially I went with PWing pieces, but it looked blocky and silly. Then I discovered the Glass Panel and Enclosures mod. That mod is just what I needed. It also makes for great cosmetic gunsights! I gave the 'Calliope Mk. I' a razor-back and added some glass. I think it works. I decided to go with an early-30s open cockpit, like on early monoplane fighters. Here's 'Jericho', a more Bf 109 inspired plane with a sliding cockpit canopy using infernal robotics. What do you guys think? How can I improve?
  7. That match was bloody tense. I think I've learned my lesson though - heavy twins aren't suited to this kind of thing. I've been learning how to build lightweight planes with B9 PWings instead and the results have been far better. I hope to submit one next time! Also, @Van Disaster, I love how you build planes, if you ever want to have a chat about it and exchange ideas I'm always open for a DM.
  8. I'm looking forward to that Sabre engine as well, is there a possibility you could make a Merlin and Griffon later down the line? Some Spitfire and 109 wings would be amazing as well, but I feel like I'm already asking the world of you
  9. This is amazing, loving the Typhoon/Tempest look here. Are you planning to release this??
  10. I'll be entering again this year too! Should be exciting, last year was tonnes of fun.
  11. First of all, wow, that it a simply incredible creation. I am actually in awe. Second, do you think we could get a Spitfire in a similarly built way next? Or a Bf 109 to go along with both, I mean, wow.
  12. Whenever I use a procedural part, like a structural piece or a fuel tank, when I try to revert the game crashes, for all textures. How is this happening?
  13. To be honest I'd really like this base but actually on land .
  14. Eyyy, @tetryds, the first thing I noticed was the cursor is designed after the computed deflection reticule from the Mark. II Gyro Gunsight (or the K-14 as it was known in the states).
