Speculating on the current conditions of defunct probes.
kerbiloid replied to Minmus Taster's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Water is not gas. It's by orders of magnitude denser, and it's a polar solvent. While CO2 is mostly inert to the metals in absence of water, and the sulfuric ions in it are just traces. -

It's Sherwood Forest. The Robbing Hood's gang is singing about the British rains, making the bows wet and unusable. Are Little John, Long John (Silver), and Big Ben brothers? -

It's much less concentrated around it, than in any solution. -
Agreed. It is.

Granted. The gravitational constant lost the sign of its mantissa, it's 6.67*1011, and you're a perfect ball of compressed water. I wish I had an antigrav umbrella.

If remove the cost of bureaucracy, an aluminium barrel with some not very top electronics and mechanics is pretty cheap. And the UDMH+NTO production is anyway required for ICBM. P.S. I mean the Orion ship, of course. -

Since Venera-7 the lander balls were made of titanium, so they don't care of that puny Venus. The previous ones were aluminium, so their balls are smashed, and are metal scrap. But still far from melting point. As any plastic has probably decayed, they are metal scrap, shaped as a lander. -
An 50 minutes video about the Rocketdyne Tripropellant engine
kerbiloid replied to magnemoe's topic in Science & Spaceflight
They add fluorine to the toothpaste. Maybe, that's the way to make a hand-sized three-propellant microengine. Say, by adding there the pentaborane. -

and pictograms Yin and Yang on the buttons. Because they should be equal. That's the Way of Equilibrium. That's because the balance of Elements is broken at your place. Fire and Stone prevail over the Water. They are yanged over the yinned Water, that's it. Your rage also is caused by the Element of Fire. Maybe, some breath exercises can pull out some Air element from the air, supress the Fire, and make the green plants grow around.

One sentence you could say to annoy an entire fan base?
kerbiloid replied to Fr8monkey's topic in Forum Games!
I believe, it will not require decades for the Linux, to drive the Windows away from desktops. -
Having three sentences in a signature is cheating.

Suggest stuff to visit in Tucson and Phoenix, AZ!

Whatever you are doing there, beware them! -
They call so the fictional old time, when the cows were having just one head instead of normal two; drinking cola from found bottle was more safe than water from public toilet; everyone could have not just one, but two or even three squirrels on sticks for breakfast, because there was a lot of squirrels around, and they were not hunting you first; everyone was able to have new plates and furniture in the kitchen instead of the broken junk, like if they were bosses of local gangs; ghouls were occupying local residential areas and not attacking the mutistorey hotels, turned into fortresses; deathclaws were cute and small, living in fishtanks and eating flies; you were eating the lobsters, and not vice versa, and you didn't need a flamethrower to cook them; it was harder to find a rifle shell than a bottle cap (and nobody was keeping the latter in a safe). Lies, of course. Too unreal.

Kraken eats them on passing above the 0° / 0° coordinates due to the not fixed real number rounding issue. -
