  1. Just get a SATA SSD, because the decrease in loading times is insignificant, while the increase in cost certainly is.
  2. Most likely caused by sub-par cooling on said laptop.
  3. Absolutely no lag? 400 to 500. I tried launching a hopelessly overengineered 566 part vessel, and I got a very small, barely noticeable amount of lag. (OC'd 6700k (basically 7700k) 2x8GB 2400MHz DDR4 R9 290X 4GB , running on 4K) 700 parts should be doable, but why on earth would you need that? Do you really need 700 parts? And which GPU are you going to buy? Don't expect to run KSP on the highest possible graphics with just the integrated graphics.
  4. This mod doesn't rescale the SLS, so it's exactly the same size as the real thing. And since kerbal's VAB is so small it won't fit.
  5. I call a technology which hasn't even been proven to work yet hypothetical. And again, technologies that are at least decades away have no place in a game focused on past and modern air and spaceflight.
  6. Yes it is. Hypothetical technologies have no place in a game based on current spaceflight.
  7. EDIT: The block 2 I mentioned is actually the block 1B, the block 2 uses a pair of one of the 3 other boosters included in the mod
  8. Because they're still decades away.
  9. Ah ok. Well the first stage for both the block 1 and 2 is build like this: On the top you have the main tank end skirt, followed by the main tank oxygen tank, followed by the main tank intertank, followed by the hydrogen tank, followed by the RS-25 adapter with 4 RS-25's. The 5 segment boosters have their own nosecones and are attached to the bottom of the core with the solid rocket booster decouplers. The block 1 second stage (ICPS) is build like this: first you take the ICPS hydrogen tank, followed by the ICPS intertank with the ICPS hydrazine tanks, followed by the ICPS oxygen tank, followed by the ICPS engine adapter with 1 RL-10 B. This is attached to the main core with the ICPS adapter. The block 2 second stage (EUS) is build in a very similar fashion. First you take the EUS hydrogen tank, followed by the EUS intertank, followed by the EUS oxygen tank, followed by the EUS engine mount with 4 RL-10 C's. This stage is connected to the main core with the maincore EUS inter.
  10. Technologies that are at least decades away or even impossible (EmDrive)? No thanks.
  11. You don't need extra batteries. Any probe has enough power to last till the deorbit burn. Just wait for half an orbit and burn. That way you won't even need to engage SAS, because the stage will already be facing retrograde.
  12. First off, welcome to the forums! Could you post a screenshot of your launcher? And how much does your satellite weigh?
  13. Hi all, I'm trying to make an E-1 upgrade which increases its thrust and slightly raises its Isp, but when I load it up in game it doesn't show up. I tried just copying the existing E-1 upgrade and tweaking it but that didn't work. I tried googleing it but that didn't yield anything useful. Any suggestions? 14. Atm I'm playing on a modded 2.5x install and it took me 4 minutes to launch a 37 part vessel to a 106x108km orbit, no lag here. i7 6700K at 4.65 Ghz, 16GB ram and a R9 290X, playing at 4k. Doesn't matter. Both should perform great when playing KSP. I bet you can even play it smoothly on one of the new quad core Coffee Lake i3's.
