  1. @MadJackal IIRC this probecore lacks a inbuildt Gyroscope, attach the smallest SAS module and it should work.
  2. My newest career Asteroid Tug and Orbital mine was a giant success, i made about twenty+ different versions but this one is absolutly superior. I catched right after launch a incoming D-size chunk, braked it down to Kerbin orbit and refilled my Liquidfueltanks, and nearly all my large ore tanks (12)... It can brake down full throttle without the need for excessive RCS, no slinky swinging and whatnot! I just catched a E-Size chunk, 2000t. 12 Nervas can handle this . Good to know how i refuel my ongoing career for interplanetary journeys .
  3. ... The Kermulan empire appears to be a vicious evil dream, a nightmare... how come so strange?... However, it is the counterpart of our friendly and polite kerbal world as we are used to know... Curious to see the reasons behind the dark veil. Happy holidays!
  4. Today i launched the "JOURNEYMAN IT", my newest career-answer to wrangling asteroids. If they are too heavy, i simply drill their ore. Yepp. And make some nice hydrazine. Took my "Lift`em all" asparagus-mammoth-booster-hoard and punched it up in one piece and clearly, fully fueled.... Wait what, who did say it must be economic? ... Ah, you meant cosmetic... ... My PC crashed while the first launch, second was okay:
  5. @Der Anfang No, it is a Dreamchaserlike glider with Aerospike at the aft. Wait a moment... look here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/125661-105-dreamchaser-lifterdeorbiter/ Meanwhile i made this: D-size asteroid fuelstation, and the "KERMES" Duna mission docking
  6. @inigma Hi there, i just tried to deliver 304 innocent Kerbals to their island holidays... And this happend: (I took my Swan and made a mass transport out of it) You might understand that i try maybe tomorrow again. I just had the laugh of my week.
  7. "cough"... looks like some of us are waiting for Roverdudes inflatable heatshield... ... "cough"
  8. My rather simple career station around mun, with a crewrotation shuttle docked:
  9. And i launched the Kermes interplanetary research vessel (about 6800dV, asteroid ISRU capable), hardly reached orbit... but fully fueled : Watch Jebediahs face...
  10. I made a nice Hermes-Shuttle, the Kermes 1 (It is in the spacecraft exchange now). It flies like its concept was supposed to:
  11. I made a replica of the French Hermes-Shuttle concept: It is cheap, safe, lots of dv, few parts, no fuelmoving needed, easy landing, Jeb-proof. The lifter drains the LFO from bottom to top (advanced fuelline technique ...), therefore it remains stable and doesn`t flip while ascend. The shuttle has a Swivel and two Thud engines, the decoupler remains on the craft, containing a small LFO tank and the main engine (Swivel). Behind the commandcabin sits a small LFO tank only for RCS, which can be used as additional fuel reserve in case of emergency. The shuttle is stable in any fuelload situation, no fuelmovement for CoM correction required. Perfect for small payloads or crew rotation, just put a additional cabin into the cargobay. Keep TWR while ascending around 1.4, start gently and cautious gravityturn at 20000m, then hit the prograde button while navball is in orbitmode, engage RCS. While descend face the shuttle belly angular to prograde (radial), for full aerobraking efficiency. Flying this is a piece of cake . Mammoth is maybe OP, but hey, make it better! 12. Great, looks somehow like the SABRE engine from the british skylon project!
  13. This is the answer to me. The sum of all kerbal cleverness is allmost the reason for their successfull Space program. Until they discover stiffer joints we can sure enjoy more funny explosions.
  14. As far as i can see it drains the fuel evenly from all attached tanks, but the ISP is not so overwhealming. You may save parts at smaller crafts, not much but sometimes handy.
  15. @Gelix If this challenge makes its way, i would prefer the first mentioned ballistanks mod, it adds a distinguished part and a certain rule for all entrys. I am looking forward to this challenge, take your time and flesh it out so i or others can make a attempt with a example submergable. I think this challenge should give the option to drop a offered sub, OR build one by the participants themself with at least the same specs of your example sub. Have a good time and post when you have some news! Your added submarinemod link leads to your OP above! Check again!
  16. @Gelix (You can squezze new line gaps with shift-enter) I am currently doing another Jool-5 challenge with ISRU, maybe i can drop your subs with a Seaplane the same time. I do this in my careersave, a glitch broke my actual save and i reverted to a point where my Kerbs had mediocre experience... But i am still interested in your own attempt, the ballast mod in your OP looks somehow also interesting. But again, dropping two subs and dock under the SAGEN SEA... wow. EDIT: you could provide the subs for us to try out... i never made a sub until now. i would download the ballastmod/firespitter and take a look how you engineer a functional sub however. greetings Mikki! your second extended mod link is unavailable, Europa btw
  17. @Gelix Hello there, i am interested in this challenge. Is Kerbal Joint Reinforcement Mod allowed? Kerbal Engineer? If not, i refuse to try. I have visited Laythe in my career, and doing your challenge all stock is very difficult, not impossible, but a real hard nut. Where is your attempt? Does watering one submarine not be enough for a challenge? This is a hell of a task.
  18. "I really hope i survive to regret this"... after reaching a certain age this becomes somehow ... mandatory...
  19. Oh really... ... Your plane has no name. I will call it " ". Saw the name, added Greetings Mikki! Ahoy!
  20. I get a feeling that Sarge has a slight but noticeable riskmanagement disorder. There is serious action ahead. Or drama. Maybe both.
  21. Hi Odyessus I`m afraid but i looks like i have deleted, or revised it.... the ultra version is gone... take a look in the Seaplane to Orbit Challenge, there is a humongous derivate of it...
  22. Hi there Scarecrow, you have done a nice Mk2 plane, i assume you have accidently reached orbit and missed to open the complete resource tab, forgot the craftfile, and last but not least forgot having a relaxing swim with your crew. Since we all now Kerbals like to swim a lot and as often as possible i refuse to give you the badge. But today i had a not so bad day as usual at work and i give you the badge if you like. If you can wear it with pride? Sure. AHOY SEAMAN! You have made a "ahem"... "cough"... viable entry with watered, but please give a craftfile!?!
  23. I am up to date, Steam client here . It is because you are more patient while surfing, i tried to pull up at 59m/s allways, did not notice it still accelerates.
  24. @ABalazs Yeah... Ahoy Seaman! I dl your craft, first i was not able to lift off again from water (not even after 14 min off surfing)..., so i took a closer look into your beautifull Seaplane and removed the payload and some struts (many, i use KJR), and then tryed again and all went well. It went up like a charm, you have matched the challenge parameters with a All-Stock technical marvel, It turns and soars great! You have made a viable entry with a serious flight! (I really check all the craftfiles, cheaters beware...) A nice pic from your SSXX-04D in orbit, yeah it was dark...: Your craft can do much more i think, clipping control surfaces are no problem btw. Greetings Mikki
  25. I came here from Orbiter. And MS Flight Sim. KSP is more fun, more content, more explosions . Uups, looks like we are necroing...
