  1. I bet they’re going to redo the engines next. Add variants, mesh switching, etc., to bring them on the same level with MH engines. Not sure if PJ work is going to be used, but I *really* hope it will be. What’s there left to redo? Reaction wheels, utility stuff like parachutes and batteries (they’re fine though), landing legs (bigger ones PLEASE).
  2. He doesn’t need to defeat Bezos to become Lord of Mars, because Bezos has no interest in Mars. Cool optional quest though. Gives a lot of XP for future Mars conquest.
  3. Cool stuff. https://www.popularmechanics.com/space/satellites/a23903386/china-moons-reflective-satellites-street-lights/
  4. @Cassel SLS is going to use a lot of Shuttle technologies. A) You happy now? B) Does it make SLS a better rocket?
  5. Also check if there’s a lot of valuable resources on their planets...
  6. It is, and it's very easy. Just take a config from aft cargo pod (when it comes out) and replace the KIS module with USI kontainer module (e. g. from MKS 1.25m round container).
  7. Soyuz spacecraft and rocket are built and assembled in different facilities and are integrated just before launch. There have to be several mad engineers working independently for this to happen.
  8. According to Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, quoted by TASS, the emergency escape system was activated at T+123 seconds in flight. As a result, the escape began after the separation of the emergency rockets (at T+114.6 seconds) and the first stage at T+117.80 seconds at an altitude of around 50 kilometers. A few hours after the accident, RIA Novosti quoted industry sources as saying that telemetry analysis had pointed toward possible pyrotechnics separation problem between the first and second stage. According to industry sources quoted on the Novosti Kosmonavtiki web forum, the pressurization cover on one of the strap-on boosters of the first stage failed to open as scheduled to push it away from the second stage during separation and it led to the collision of the empty booster with the firing second stage and damaging or pushing it off course. http://russianspaceweb.com/soyuz-ms-10.html#scenario
  9. The primary and backup crews of the Soyuz MS-10 sent to Baikonur from Zhezkazgan
  10. 3 months. Actually, no. MS-09 docked on June 6. So it's 4 months now.
  11. Yeah, it’s not like SpaceX has an awesome new launch vehicle in the works that can use all the funding it can get.
  12. A contract for the company that doesn’t even have an orbital rocket yet, but nothing for the leader of commercial launch market? Yea, that seems fair.
  13. I did the calculations, and LNG is VASTLY cheaper per unit of energy than any other hydrocarbon (or hydrogen) fuel. 50x cheaper than RP-1.
  14. Yes. Proton-M. It’s already built. Yes, quite a few: http://www.russianspaceweb.com/proton_2018.html
  15. Extremely Unlikely Stage fits better at this point.
