  1. 2nded, if this question has been answered i don't see it
  2. @Darkherring@PiezPiedPy thank you for your suggestions, i solved my problem. i copied the entire unzip into the GameData directory instead of the correct one. I will find myself a dunce cap and face the corner now.
  3. okay. My kerbalism installed through CKAN didnt work. I uninstalled it in CKAN, deleted the Kerbalism folder from GameData, reinstalled 1.9.0 from spacedock. started up KSP again, i still dont see my kerbalism icons in my game, either in space center or VAB/SPH. what did i do wrong. i checked back on this thread to sept 4th and didn't see a clear solution besides "reinstall from github/spacedock."
  4. uh-oh... i upgraded to 1.8.0 and now the kerbalism icon is gone from the toolbar, in all scenes. i want my mission planner plz! should i file a github report?
  5. @Ser NavUtilities continued is marked in CKAN as 1.4.1 compatible, not 1.4.2. metadata oopsie?
  6. I get the following error mesage every time i run CKAN since I updated to the latest version: "Error in auto-update: Error: SendFailure (Error writing headers)" what's all this then?
  7. @HebaruSan your idea worked, thank you! please see my reply on github.
  8. @HebaruSan sure, as soon as I remember my github username i'll reply. In the meantime, do i need to uninstall/reinstall CKAN? update: done
  9. uhhhhhhhhh CKAN won't start for me today running 64-bit ubuntu 16.04 terminal output: halp
  10. Hi. i know a lot of people here have college degrees, and I judge from a lot of the chatter that there's at least a few post-graduate degree holders among us as well. It's about the end of the fall semester here in the states. I'm a 4th-year student of Mechanical Engineering at a technical college, I have at least 3 more semesters to go before I finish my bachelor's degree. I'm exhausted. I've spent about 3 solid years hunched over a desk, doing calculus problems. I'm really having trouble focusing on my coursework - my brain is like, actively revolting against me whenever I try to study or do homework. I've sacrificed a lot in terms of personal projects, short-term employment prospects, as well as a social life or romantic life (aside - I'm in my 30s and single) in order to attend school. I know for a fact that I am absolutely intelligent enough to do the work, but i'm having a lot of trouble maintaining my focus and motivation. I have like a 2.8 GPA right now, which isn't terrible, but I know I'm capable of being a much better student that I am. Also I need to have better than a 3.0 GPA for many of the real interesting internships and other opportunities. What have any of y'all done to get though similar situations?
  11. btw, Nertea updated the Near Future Tech mods today. I ran the game just to see if the conflict between Kerbalism and CryoTanks (see ) still exists: yes it does. BUT! it only seemed to affect a craft that was transmitting science while not actively loaded... my comsats and other vessels were normal. Hoping this helps track down wherever the bug is. Also i should tag @Nertea here, shouldn't I?
  12. @lordcirth well that doesn't make sense, i dont even have that mod installed. *checks own modlist again* oh. huh. i dont even remember installing that! I guess it came as a dependency with nertea's kerbal atomics? anywya, seems to have worked. thanks!
  13. @lordcirth thanks for your assistance. I'm running 1.3.1. here's my modlist; it's lengthy When I switch from flight to space center, i get hundreds of lines of this: This looks pretty suspect to me. I get a few NullRef errors from Janitor's Closet but i doubt that's the issue.
  14. okay I'm having a strange issue. I launch a capsule, making sure i have plenty of power & generation (in this case a Universal Storage fuel cell). I get to orbit, turn on the fuel cell, run an experiment, and flag it to transmit, which it does. everything seems to be going fine until i exit the scene. After a few seconds in the tracking station or the space center, the transmission has completed (when it should have taken a minute or two with a slow low-gain antenna), my EC is depleted and my pilot has died of CO2 poisoning. What's going on?
  15. looks like this hasn't yet propagated to CKAN yet?
  16. ...hmmmm... ...how do I make a bicycle in KSP... ...hmmmm...
  17. for me this has made the difference between success and failure when landing on the Mun with mechjeb.
  18. @wadusher1 @Merkov okay. got it. pipes then. I'll jsut feed those struts back into the recycler lol
  19. concur. between this book and the blog falsesteps.wordpress I learned so much about the history of the early space program.
  20. okay. Semi-related question: Is there a way to use the square concrete pads that come with KPBS to mitigate this problem / is this expressly what they're for?
  21. One super important thing I learned about orbital mechanics and FTL travel from Star Trek is: The vessel will always move at the speed of the plot.
