The other day I saw what @Jett_Quasar did, So to put you in context. I have a career game going in 1.2 and I want to upgrade all my Kerbals to 5 Stars before moving on to 1.2.++ and a new career. I did a lot of procrastinating (and a few failures) but now I had a seed to work with. http://imgur.com/a/TueFQ So I built a ship. Took a few days to test. Then put it in a bottle. Mounted it on a large rocket. Then loaded all 88 of my Kerbals on it (Can actually accommodate 98). Unwrapping the Jool Ship 4.1. Now called the Jool's Verne. Jeb is Down-Below. He insist it’s an Air-Reg....I don't....think it is....that the pilot must be the first one on the scene of the accident. So Startrek be darned is command chair is underneath. Val is Topside. The seat was vacant (like half the lower deck) so she moved there after they made orbit. Left for Jool. ME

The Wrenches in the VAB (You know those little guys that walk around with tools) made something for the training centre. Merry Christmas to all Kerbalkind and other kinds too. ME

Recover All Button?
Martian Emigrant replied to Castille7's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I would sugest..Perhaps...Replacing said button with "Recovery" followed after the selection with "Recover selected" and clic-boxes. Followed with the usual "Are you sure? Darn sure?". ME -
Game crashed on startup
Martian Emigrant replied to Caleb Kam's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
It happens all the time for me. It will crash maybe 1 out of 3. When it crashes it will do it several time in a row. Once loaded it's good till I shut it down. Always did that for me. IDK maybe from 1.1 ME -
We don't carry spares because there is no need to right now. But. If the engineers could fix things we could have a "Box-of-spare-parts" in a Cargo/Service bay or even as external load. My vision: Vern-level-4-Engineer floating next to the nub of a solar panel. Right click on the nub and select "Repair from spares 3 of 3". Bingo it's fixed. The size of the "Box-of-spare-parts" could dictate how many things you can fix. You could have several. A docked ship could share/transfer spares. Small fix 2 thing. Mass 0.5t Medium fix 3 things. Mass 0.75t Large fix 5 things. Mass 1.0t My vision conclusion: Vern right clicks on a radiator. "No spare available 0 of 3". ME EDIT Last thought maybe a "Small box" couldn't fix a "Large" radiator

The Probodobodyne OKTO2 Solar Speed Challenge
Martian Emigrant replied to Triop's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Please don't shoot me. I have managed 56.2 m/s but cannot reproduce it. I Tried to "Tweak" it after that run but it just don't work anymore. The ship is just a structural fuselage with service bays. When I spawn it to the runway the wheels get sucked in for some reason I can't fathom. It's just rendered that way as the fuselage hovers over the runway. So this is my last try. I throw the towel. I knew it. I could feel it. 3 feet tall (1 meter) . They like to nibble and play. They are related. ME

The Probodobodyne OKTO2 Solar Speed Challenge
Martian Emigrant replied to Triop's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Hi. I had to rebuild it as it wasn't saved. Here is basically the same craft. SPH: Runway: 53.8 m/s ME EDIT: Ran a version with 8 wheels, 4 panels....Maybe time of day would help. New speed 53.9 m/s. -
The Probodobodyne OKTO2 Solar Speed Challenge
Martian Emigrant replied to Triop's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Hey all. Here's mine. 22parts, 0.841t. Sitting on the runway. Top speed on the flat. Going down hill. I suspect the downhill one is not qualifiable.... So 53.8 m/s. ME -
K-Drive 122 The Kraken Returns
Martian Emigrant replied to EladDv's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Clever. You push on the debris then you grab it before warping. Very clever. ME- 21 replies

Yes, it is "Witch Craft". A "Kraken Drive". I didn't invent the tech. This is the engine: Both parts of it are floating next to the ship. I forgot it's forbidden and used "Warp to next manoeuvre" the engine phased out of the fairing. The engine is actually "Debris" and has it's own trajectory. Here is the craft since you seem interested: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9wauxldo5uwfcq3/Kraken Cracked v2_1.craft?dl=0 Place the ship on the Pad or Runway. Press "space", Engage SAS on Radial out, press "G" (Gear). You will float like a toy balloon. Over 600m or 1000m if the drive hasn’t gone crazy on it's own. Disengage the gear for a moment the re-engage. Sometime it will engage if you jiggle the ship a bit with the SAS. As you get really fast select Prograde. Do not use "Warp". Ever. I am getting tired of the technology. I made a simpler engine but very unstable. Can't quite "Pin" the how and why. It doesn't seem to be ultimately usable. I will probably play a bit more with it. But unless I happen on a breakthrough... ME

K-Drive 122 The Kraken Returns
Martian Emigrant replied to EladDv's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Built a Kraken-Drive-MarkII. Unfaired test flight. The faired version was good fun until the g-meter exploded (I did leave it on the outside). And then the warp drive fell out. Leaving me High-And-Dry. So unless someone knows how to warp the ship to the next manoeuvre node without the core falling out the tech is, for me, useless. Not being able to warp ever makes this worst than Ion-Drive. One can warp between burns with Ions.... Going to Jool in real time is not my cup of tea. ME- 21 replies

There you go. The G-meter gave 10 G before it exploded. Then the warp core left the ship. The Dark Arts are interesting. But I think I will stick to "Normal" rocketry. ME

K-Drive 122 The Kraken Returns
Martian Emigrant replied to EladDv's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I understand the atmospheric heating. My design doesn’t set-right in zero-G. I need to understand first and redesign so I can go on and off. I can't shut off right now. the Cylinder moves way too much. ME- 21 replies

Still experimenting here. ME

Chuffed. Built my first Kraken-Drive: Got to 23km before the warp core exploded. ME

K-Drive 122 The Kraken Returns
Martian Emigrant replied to EladDv's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I am totaly new to the Dark-Arts. Kraken One was just about 600m when it went insane. But Kraken three was above 8km... More experiment required. ME- 21 replies

K-Drive 122 The Kraken Returns
Martian Emigrant replied to EladDv's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The Kraken Lives. http://imgur.com/a/lhWej I ran with this. Never experienced a "Kraken Drive" before. Here is the Kraken one: Wee bit unstable but a definite proof of concept. Kraken two: It floated like a toy balloon then suddenly: The G-Meter was pegged at 15. Until the central warp core exploded (Maybe it was ejected...It happened really fast): Currently flying the Kraken three: It flies like a toy balloon. Not sure how this would be usable. Maybe if it reaches space I can point it somewhere.....It climbs at less than 500 m/s m/min and you can't use warp. I don't think you can anyway. The warp core should pass right through no? I don't dare touch it right now. Through 2300 m. ME EDIT: Conclusion? Not really sure. I was playing with the brakes because the wheels turn. It seemed to affect the stability and the surface speed a bit. I guess it centered just right as it leaped in the air at 15g+. Then the core exploded around 23Km. F3 says "Structural Fuselage exploded due to overheating"- 21 replies

Thank you. Where the name Valentina came from is kind of an obvious. They wanted to add a "Girl" and "Valentina" says girl AND says "Astronaut" (I know Cosmonaut). No one can say "Valentina isn't an astronaut. That made her more than a "Token" girl. Her name was well chosen and in this case warranted IMO. Well chosen. ME

Hey all. I wasn't there when the devs chose Jeb, Bill, Bob and Val. My guess is that they were just "Joke names". The game had no "History" and a vague future. So what is my point? I am not sure I have a point. And no insult meant. Except that if you start making new veterans anytime an astronaut dies then there will be a lot more. They (The real stuff) are getting older. Everyday. Some of them will never grow old. Some of them are Russian. Both getting older and not. It's a big can of worms. You can't please everybody.....All the time. ME

To go from "Rescue" to "Recovery" isn't nice in real life. I am playing here. I don't want to play that. ME

Any tips and tricks??
Martian Emigrant replied to SpaceFanatic10's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hi. One of the things that might help if you don't do it already. Switch ship (To the target) select through "Control from here" the docking port you want to use. Then make the the other ship target and line up on is port. Revert to the chaser ship. You can switch back and forth making sure they are in line. When you do switch make sure you are "Far" or "Slow" collisions happens when you gone (Distracted) too long. ME
