  1. Inspired by: I built this: I learned that the original had two docking port. Didn't know that. ME
  2. Very nice. I am guessing that the running boards on the trucks are radiators. But where are the solar panels or energy source? ME
  3. I like it. Yesterday I built a retro-Station. No I don't mean retrograde. Flew to it again today. http://imgur.com/a/OfO2d Going to it Manual rendez-vous and docking. I wanted to show the game to a friend and the !@#$% MechJeb wouldn't work properly. Rookie Pilot Callock flying some vets. Callock "The station looks pristine and undamaged!. First time in space and showing it. Later he repositioned the ship on the alternate docking port.....On is own. Anyway, Vets or not, what can an engineer and scientist do to help? No one had ever used that port before.... I like this station quite a bit. Evokes a lot of what-if and perhaps. Next version will have a science lab... ME
  4. What stibbons said. I believe if you delete the file the game will create another one. ME
  5. Not sure about the other question there.... But isn’t it that if it works for Kerbin in works for laythe? Laythe: Atmospheric Pressure 60.7950 kPa 0.6 atm Atmospheric height 50 000 m Surface gravity 7.85 m/s2 (0.8 g) Kerbin: Atmospheric Pressure 101.325 kPa 1 atm Atmospheric height 70 000 m Surface gravity 9.81 m/s2 (1 g) Laythe is a little litle lighter and as a little less air. ME
  6. What? IDK I just googled "Alien pinup" cause I wanted some form of "Nose Art" for the ships. Go ahead try. I can't post that cause some of them might be NSFW. Copied one I liked (Edit: And would look like a Pinup for a Kerbal) and made my own flag with it. There are of course more to have as this is the Internet. ME
  7. Hello all Kerbean. Today I got Valentina back to Kerbin as promissed. Yesterday I got her to Duna on a very small lander. Raise your hand everyone with "Hold me closer tiny lander" stuck in their head. Today I got her home. I ashamed to say I had to do it twice. Everything that could go wrong went wrong on the trip. I can't say for sure but I think it all had to do with my departure in the first place. But everything went right on the second try. Go figure. ME
  8. Hi. Here is my submission. Learned a lot from it and used previously earned Eeloo challenge experience. http://imgur.com/a/5yNZ7 21.118t in the SPH Aeroengine, chemical engines, ION, Small lander. Darn it....Imgur lost a few pics. I will load them now....Grrr. Ready to go. Shedding on the way up Braking to make orbit followed by some manoeuver to lower my orbit. 60Km was desired. Valentina EVAed to the Lander The tank (Oscar-B) can take I believe 5 m/s my testing showed that 10 m/s was expected and slower cost more. The tank was designated as a crush zone. In case it should survive there was a decoupler. The SAS was more than powerful enough to move the ship around. Valentina "Totally own Duna". Tilting at the lists Plenty of fuel for the climb manoeuvring but the ship had a tendency to vibrate off heading. Couldn't figure it out. This is 1.1.3. EVA-ing Valentina was better than flying the ship around. By far. Valentina: "Tanks for the ride but I'll walk from here". Raised the orbit to 1000km before departure for a better warp to the window and to be further away from the planet due to the long burns. The oculting of the panels and atmosphere entry they cause. I had to redo the return. This one though was letter perfect. I have to learn from that. Jump for joy. I enjoyed the build and the challenge. Thank you. ME
  9. I am going to bed but I am pretty pleased. Tickled pink. Thing are going well for Valentina and me. Not a simulation like earlier today. Actual play. Sent a 21t ship from Kerbin to Duna. She landed and is on her way back. She will be landed tomorrow. I just had to load a few pics. http://martianarepeopletoo.imgur.com/all/ Standing bye for departure See you back soon Kerbin old buddy "Watch out Duna. Ready or not here I come" Retro braking Nylon braking I take possession of this land Out of my way! I am off to the tournaments. I will joust, tilt and trounce the best of them. ME
  10. Welcome to the forum. That's an impressive setup. I liked the first pic when I first saw it thought I had no clue what it was. Orion, eh? Got your lead undies on? I can't help thinking that in real life it would be absolutely impossible to synchronize 4 atomic pulse engines. ME
  11. Spent the better part of the day building and testing (Optimising) small landers for Duna. It will be for the Small Low Mass Duna Challenge. http://martianarepeopletoo.imgur.com/all/ This one is odd. I couldn't reprodude the bug.....Yet. The Kerbals feet aren't on the rudders and is EVA jets are working when I select some movements....I checked and Yes. Is EVA propellant is coming down. Again an odd one. The Kerbal is sideway in the chair. ME
  12. I had to look-up "Bawls". Sounds bad.... I'll plead insanity. ME
  13. Yes. It needs a name too. Orphan, lucky, found, trifecta, golden boy, trimus, trimun, baby.... ME
  14. Won't be doing much today.....In my RL there are people coming over. But I got to move Kerbals from the "Colapsing shadow universe" into the more stable one. Unfortunately the "Original Four" can't come as their meeting themselves would implode the universe....The disaster could be limited to a single galaxy but the maths are fuzzy on that one. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten anytime soon. ... Oh. Look. Bunnies. ME
  15. Awesome. Did you lower it, raise it or sync it to the Mun? ME
  16. Thanks for all the input. I looked at bringing all the Kerbals back to Kerbin but it proved to be a PITA. They are all over the place. So I dismissed the ones who had never been anywhere. Made all the ones I want to keep assigned (In a big compartment on the runway) so they’d be easy to find in the quicksave. Copied them and pasted them in my new career and made them available. It's not happy about it.. I didn't import the "Original Four" from the mirror universe has they are already there...That would be -Murder-. They are blissfully unaware that their counterparts used to have a full logbook with lots of stars in it. Now to get that first orbit going. ME
  17. Hi. I will be moving onto 1.2 soon. Well playing with a new career already. Anyway I want to quiz the hive mind about what is the proper way to "Move up". -Delete1.1.3 and move on. -Import all career and keep going. -Start a new career and import only your favourite ships for later. -Start a new career and import all your saved Kerbals with you (Through editing of the file). I personally lean toward the last one. Before I do I think I will build an ark and get the "Loose" ones back to Kerbin first. "No Kerbal left behind" policy. What do you think? ME
  18. Today..... Just the same has yesterday and the one before that. Went to Eeloo again. But now I am done. I had never been further than Duna....I think....Not with success anyway. I decided a while back that I was doing the "Low mass Eeloo mission" Go to Eeloo with more than a lawn chair and come back with less than 50t to start with. What to say? I liked my "Unfair-ed Eeloo lander with it's Mach spike" Learned a lot about encounters and eventually about gravity braking. Got to plant an under-lighted flag on the outermost planet. Jeb got to use is practice at orbital crew saving by walking part of the way back to the ship. Jeb got to push the ship after the batteries were left on for years with the ship facing the wrong way. I got to change orbital planes while doing close encounters of the good kind. All good. Now I can put 1.1.3 aside and move to 1.2....I might have to bring a few kerbals to it though....I am fond of them....The rescued ones especially. The co-opted ones too. Moral question. (I know they are sprites) I have Kerbals on Duna. 101 of them. And a few in stations everywhere.....Mun, Minmus, orbital. -Do I erase the whole career? -Do I port them all to my new career in 1.2? (Back to the training facility) -Do I rescue them first? If you read all the way here.....What would you do? Did? ME
  19. Hi. Finally. Here is my entry. http://imgur.com/a/xLLwB 42.973t in 69 parts. Took jeb 24 years and 5 days. I don't know how many (Time...Not years) for me. I am not doing this again. But I did learn a lot. It's a long post....But it took me a long time to meet this challenge and you have to suffer. Tiss all. The highlights: Left direct to Eeloo. This is the unfaired M.U.L.E. (Miniature Undersized Lander Eeloo) with it's patented "Mach Spike". Landed a small lander (The M.U.L.E.). Under exposed mission flag (Sun is weak and directly overhead). Jeb walked part of the way back....That was planned. (Now I know why I did so many orbital rescues) Tried to go straight to Kerbin....Come in with over 9000 m/s....So I had to learn to do gravity braking....I did try other means like trying again with Ions. Deleted comment. I am waiting for "Torch-Ship" before I come back here. Back to highlights: Went to Jool. Went to Jool again. Kerbin encounter. All this so cheap I can now brake and stay in Kerbin SOI. I initially thought I would have to do a few more encounters. Stopped the ship in orbit around Kerbin. Lowered the apoapsis. Aero-Braked twice. I have dived from Minmus (Which is higher) and lived before...But I wasn't willing to find a good braking altitude. Twice is good. Water landing. Funny story. Jeb had to get out and push the ship. The batteries were depleted. Wrong orientation for years at the time will do that. Conclusion: I learned a lot. On ship design, propulsion, gravity (Still unclear on most of it....Magic) and more. Thank you for the challenge but I am not doing this again....Not for a long time....We'll see....Not now anyway. Have to play with 1.2 first. ME
  20. Well for now. You can plan on landing a rover with a claw on it it can attach the fixture you want and stay there permanently. Or it can rove in between the fuel and a customer. ME
  21. Today I succeeded in a few things. For once. http://imgur.com/a/G4NFa I launched a 13t ship to Eeloo. Actually got there on Ions. I wanted to see if I could get there. One. See if I could land an Ion ship. Two. And no, I can't. MechJeb set the descents then refused to stop the crashes. Then I did my own and I can't do it either. At the weight of my ship one engine is insufficient to stop the acceleration downward. If I try a "Hover" descent then I run out of electricity.....Bummer. Eeloo is said to be as the Mun (Wiki) so I wanted to see if I can "Land" a naked lone Kerbal. Three. I can. No taking off again. But I knew that part. I might be the only person ever to land and EVAed Kerbal there. I still have to "Fly" Jeb back. But I got bored. (He is in the ship I F9-ed him back in) So I thought I need a very-light-landing-craft for Eeloo..... What is lighter than an MMU? This is MMU 1 Valentina did the honors as Jeb is in Deep Space. And the winner: MMU 2 Did you know that the dish-s (Dishes?) have a hollow base? ME
  22. Hi. Guten Tag. Welcome to the forum. I bet your Austrian is just as good as my French and our English ain't bad. Joke aside. Can we know what your system is? Window, Linux how you installed it in the first place. ME
