  1. Thanks guy. I hate it. But I know I have to do a fresh install. Getting a coffee then I will prepare a backup of my files. ME
  2. I have been running KSP on Linux for a few months now with the usual little nags. 1.1.3 and pre 1.2 Today I tried changing my Video card driver. My shadows have been messed up for a long time and I read about the Video card being to blame. With messages of failures on my attempts. Officially: No changes. Now KSP will flash on and off when I try to run it. So I think I did something the game doesn't like. I am contemplating reinstalling Linux. Upgrading the version. Before I do: Could something else be going on? I used to be a half decent administrator on Windows. Linux not so much. I dread having to do the reinstall. It was a pain to do in the first place. Could it be easier than that? Am I missing the obvious? I just need a Yea or nae. Thanks, ME
  3. Kdenlive. Have to remember that. I use none at this time. ME
  4. Just my 2¢ here but landing distance should be at the nose wheel. If a carrier was 100m long and you landed the nose wheel at the 101m mark you just fell over or in any case missed your landing. The carrier was too short. In the same manner if the nose wheel was 10 meters from the end the carrier was 10 meters longer than it need to be. QED ME
  5. I use Linux and RecordMyDesktop. Not sure if you would call it "The Best" but it was painless to learn. And it's free.
  6. Instead of going to bed I decided to boot the old PC and fly up to the VAB one more time. That didn't work so well this time. Time to go to bed. ME
  7. Well. I'll be. That should straighten any crooked mal-sayer. I'll start practising right away. I though that Perimune was a WW2 German military base...Shows what I know. ME
  8. Not really sure of the prevalence. I recall reading that being sick got worse when ships started getting bigger and astronauts could move more. Mercury need a shoehorn to get in. Mercury need a pry-bar to get out. Apollo was roomier. Especially when buddy was alone up there with the couches stowed. ME
  9. Hi all. Today was meh. http://imgur.com/a/ynec3 Played with docking ports. Built a flying saucer or two. Revisited a VTOL I built long ago when I was younger. IDK April or something. I was newer by far then. I did build it well though. Love it. Makes me want a joystick. Now maybe I'll know how far I am from the VAB (until I blow it off). ME
  10. That’s pretty amazing. When I first saw the crane with the fuel tanks I wondered if you could tweak the weight. Well done. All I placed on the VAB today was a flag. How did she get there you say? Well you need to read my post which should follow shortly. ME
  11. I used to do the renaming and re-branding of things though the Space Centre. It stopped working with 1.1.3. I read somewhere that the Devs renoved the possibility because users would make EVA into ships or debris and crash the game. I read somewhere that it was working again in 1.2......I think. I have not gotten a chance to try yet. It used to be done using the "i". You know the ship info button. ME
  12. Well the triple port is a failure. The Senior isn't deep enough to make it dock and leave the other ones alone. On my first attempt it all look good and when I undocked I pulled the Mid-sized one out. When I undocked that one the Junior was still on my nose. All 3 docked. But on undocking it's as if they all go loose. The ones not specifically told to undock stay magnetic and docked. Funny to look at not amusing. No amount of tucking worked. If deep enough then they don't work anymore. Don't make contact. If you have the Senior you want the senior. you can't have the other ones poking out. Sigh. ME
  13. I think you might be right about "Which ring to use". Though the clamp-O-Tron (Plural) didn't seem to care which was "Control from here" and who was "Target". First to make contact seems to be "It". Like floating next to a station and making an "Accidental" dock due to the magnets. I went looking at UbioWeld last night. It is updated to work with V1.1.2. I am currently running Pre V1.2 for play and with my "Real" career still safe within 1.1.3. Not really that keen to install 1.1.2 just to save a part right now....Not saying no for the future though, I think I will experiment some more with docking ports. Make them flush as oppose to proud. Make a 3way-sexy port. I have built with the Senior never actually tried to dock with it. I will report. BTW I have had fuel tank in cargo hulls dangle out the bottoms of SSTOs They need to be attached with Space-Bailling-Wire (Struts) before leaving the SPH. Not sure what can be done about retrivals.....Yet. ME
  14. What a day. What a day. Played hooky and played KSP...Again...I need help. Anyway. Today I partook in the "Monoprop to anywhere" challenge and made first place (For now). Imagine that. Me. First place. That never happends. Won't last. But I would like to report that I have been experimenting on something that as been puzzling me for a long time. - Can two different size dockport dock? Well the answer is......No. They can't. Not on their own. http://imgur.com/a/ynec3 I placed a Clamp-O-Tron Docking Port Jr. Inside a Clamp-O-Tron Docking Port with the Jr just proud of the other one using Toggle Snap (You know that hexagon button thing) Placed it on a docking capable ship and went out to play. The Bi-Dockport works on both kind and on itself. -It docks on the Junior through the Junior. They touch first so they mate first. -It docks on the Bigger Camp-O-Tron through the same. The Junior fits nicely inside the hollow. -It docks on the Bi one through the the outer one. Again the Jr fits nicely in there. ME EDIT and PS It will be my standard from now on. It's only one more part.....Right? How does one make a part anyway? So it becomes only one part?
  15. OK. I stole some time from myself to do this again-some-more. This time I claim to have landed a manned Craft on Minmus, orbited the Mun and recovered the vessel and Jeb back to Kerbin. http://imgur.com/a/jfD1G The Mun detour cost me a bit. I had to aero-brake through 7 orbits of Kerbin. That was fun. Thank you. ME
  16. Prove I made orbit? Yes. It was a bit hard to redo. But here is the album (Imgur mixed a few). http://imgur.com/a/b9atl There was quite a bit of lag. Launching a Munar rocket will be painful. I am still unsure if I want to do a direct ascent or a MOR. I lean to DA and Minmus. But I am not sure I will have the time to devote to the endeavour. ME PS I have to re-enter Jeb. EDIT Recovered Jeb. He is being debriefed. The Album is amended.
  17. Thanks. I though of disabling the tanks but with the number of tanks involved it makes for Royal PITA. Plus I checked Group action is out. Gonna live with it. ME Just made orbit of Kerbin. Pondering direct ascent or Munar-Orbit-Rendez-vous.
  18. Hey all. I am working on a prototype and there is a bug. Maybe it's a 1.2 thing. I can work around (Annoyed) it but here it is. I built a test rocket and when the monoprop is expended on the first stage it starts to burn the next stage. And so on. The engines don't quit. No warning. So I have to right click a tank per stage "Pin-them" and monitor them. When they show close to zero or starts to over-burn into the next stage the space-bar as to be hit. I have checked the decouplers and crossfeed isn't enabled. It seem to be a LF thing only. Thanks for your attention. Going back to the lab. ME PS If someone can explain this behaviour in a favourable light I would appreciate.
  19. Or a big enough SAS. Minmus is also slippery (IMO). You can actually take off sideways. Save the game first, stow the legs and if the ground is level or sloping up it can work. ME
