  1. I unlocked a SCAN sat module that will scan for anomalies so using a new medium lift vehicle I put a satellite up around Kerbin, Mun and Minmus to find them. And then I had taken a contract to land on Edna and I had a satellite around Dak. It wasn't designed to land but what the heck I sent it over. 2 km AGL 100 meters 10 meters. ~1 m/s decent rate Touchdown! We are balanced by SAS and the two solar panels touching the surface. And now back to orbit.
  2. I see KSP has having a long life. For one there are Mods. For me personally, KSP 2 will have to wait a bit and it will be awhile before I buy it.
  3. I had a launch window for Jool and told the engineers to come up with a plan for a grand tour for the Jool system. This is what happens when you leave them unsupervised. With care I think I can get to Jool with my solar panels by controlling my orientation and remembering to fold the panels when maneuvering. Arrival at Jool. And a time warp incident at Tylo caused me to squander enough D/V that I had to cut down my plan to a fly buy of Tylo... Shortly after that I staged without checking my orientation or stowing the solar panels, so I lost one one but I still made it to a Val fly by And then on to Laythe Where we go into orbit for long term study.
  4. It was a busy day in KSP today. Sent a satellite to Minmus. On station at Minmus. Next was a routine rescue. My name is.....Tim. Then I sent my rover to Duna. Arrival at Duna and prep for EDL. And a serious error was noted in the design as the twitch engines did not have the thrust turned down and I pogoed because I couldn't control the the thrust levels fine enough. And then.. I cras..... Wait what? Nailed it. All apart of the plan. Asteroid scan And Blue berry scan
  5. I did some test driving. Power to transmit all the science. Check And the anomaly is still there.
  6. I went to Minmus to clear up some contracts. Bob gets his second star with this EVA Time to go back home. And good chutes all round. Next up it was Mun contracts including a world first to bring back a space craft from the Mun. Since 3 kerbals were close to leveling up a 3 person Mun Direct Mission was tasked to the engineers. Things may have gotten out of hand. But it goes fast. Three kerbals, Three flags. This is just after the burn for Kerbin. Yep the heatshield is working. So far. And a successful mission was had by all.
  7. I had a contract for a satellite around Dak (which orbits Edna). The only encounters I could seem to get were high delta v captures on the order of 3 km/sec. Challenge accepted. I used a very aggressive launch profile. BBQing at 40 KM altitude. Trans Edna burn. We arrive at Edna and begin the capture burn. Several orbital maneuvers later we encounter Dak. Sunrise on Dak. And wow Dak is lumpy. I have a 10.9 KM PE and I'm at 2200 meters AGL. And had many failures attempting to get a satellite around Kerbol in the correct orbit trying to use Eve slingshots. I was trying to avoid a multi-year trip out beyond Jool to get the cheapest Delta V inclination change.
  8. Everyone plants a flag. Who cares if only one counts, each kerbal has to get that selfie with a flag they planted.
  9. I had a contract for a Molniya orbiting satellite. Then I rescued a couple of kerbals
  10. I had several contracts for Minmus including a rescue. After arrival Phil undocks and heads down. I landed just over 500 meters away from the stranded kerbel. The closest landing yet for me. The kerbel zipps over Science is done and flags are planted before heading home. Welcome aboard. The service module deorbited the lander( for impact science) then headed back to Kerbin. And happy re-entry's and landings were had by all.
  11. I clip things all the time. But I get reminded all the time that it summons the the Kraken.
  12. I had a orbital survey contract for Eve that required bringing back the science to Kerbin. The space craft consisted of an Eve transfer section, Kerbin transfer section, EDL/Return capsule section and Science Instrument section. The Eve transfer section is conducting the departure burn here. Eve arrival. Some how my contract showed the orbit part completed so I decided to just do a flyby. I gathered up the required science and collected it in the return capsule. Then I detached the Science section. Eve departure. A plane change is done. 2 course corrections later and 3 and a half years of mission time we arrive back at Kerbin. 6.2 Km/Sec at interface. That worked out to be about 260-270 points of ablator burned up. And we get the science back.
  13. I set out to rescue 3 kerbals with one launch. LKO rescue complete. HKO rescue complete. LMO rescue complete. Now to head for home. . . What do you mean we are going to run out of gas? (I had some sloppy rendezvous and wasted a bit of delta v) Launched a rescue mission to rescue the rescue mission. And the kebals are happy to be on the way home again. And back on Kerbin. A new quality statement is born "Rocket Rescue, We do it the hard way"
  14. I gathered up all my Mun contracts and sent Jeb an Phil off to complete them. A total of 4 contracts to complete on this mission. Arrival at the Mun Touch down confirmed! Phil surveys his work before he takes off. Now to rescue a kerbal. We have to get close to almost everything. But mission accomplished Less than 60 seconds to re-entry and everybody's Happy! And a good omen before it gets warm And everyone enjoyed the sunrise on the way down to Kerbin.
  15. Yet another rescue mission to LKO. We had a hold on the count down to get Jeb out of the vehicle. After that it was a prefect launch. The second stage ignition. "Yes, Seeing plasma and bits of the burning heat shield flying off is perfectly normal" A beautiful day to be rescued. And I moved a satellite around.
  16. In the new "rollback" campaign I rescued a kebal. I used a new rocket Phil was happy he could get taxi service out here. But when he gets to KSC he may not like the bill
  17. Totally I somehow reverted to 1 year back in game time with out noticing. Good by 450 pts of science and those awesome contacts. I had to have a wake IRL afterwards.
  18. I sent a satellite to Minmus. And then sent a probe to Eve. And I have finally figured out the orbit over a spot contracts. And now I have a launch window for Duna coming up in 27 days. Coincidence? I think not.
  19. Rocket Rescue stands up another launch to LKO New and improved adjustments to the design include removing the monoprop as it was noticed on previous launches that the vehicle didn't have any reaction control thrusters. A sort hop over the the taxi. And finally Luuki arrives at her new home
  20. I launched a small satellite for a contract. And then since I had many contracts for Minmus I sent Jeb out to complete them. And after a busy mission Jeb and the new recruits have a safe return.
  21. I don't do challenges at all. Still just puttering around now in a career JNSQ . But if I do I'll keep yours in mind.
  22. I launched a rescue ship for a stranded kerbal.
  23. I had a contract for a polar satellite so I was trying out my latest tech in a new design. After that I not so confidently had a new design launched for a couple of Mun contracts. And the kebals relax waiting for touch down after a long mission.
  24. Used a new rescue vehicle Rescued a Kerbal Sent a lander to Minmus to wait for a world first mission. Then launched a crew to get the rendezvous part of a world first at Minmus. And back we came.
  25. I play at 40% science, never return to the same biome twice (unless contracted to) and no using the science lab. For myself I also need to set other goals outside of just gathering science to keep it interesting.
