  1. I'm going to guess rocket fuel. Or something like that. (I am asking.) Today I was in band and we got a new piece of music. (Also, I play trombone.) In this piece of music is a super high note nobody has seen before so we asked the band teacher. Apparently it is a high a played in fifth position. Two seconds later the whole band started playing and we got to the part with the super high a. (The highest note I can really play is an F.) So I squeeze my lips as tight together as I can, took a deep breath, and out comes this really high pitched squeal that makes everyone in the entire band burst into laughter. Nobody managed to hit the a at all. I think I might have actually overshot a little... While I was in band, somebody decided to pull the fire alarm... It is January. In Iowa. It was nine degrees outside. I was wearing a short sleeve shirt. If you're going to pull the fire alarm, please, do it in spring and during one of the classes I hate (IED, I'm looking at you) rather than in one of the classes I like (Hey, at least it wasn't art!). So, yeah. Band was interesting today.
  2. Exactly as the title says. I haven't had anything particularly funny or interesting happen today, but yesterday I was unloading a car from grocery shopping. There were bags of diet pepsi in the trunk that were nearly frozen (it is winter) and had been shaken around for the past hour on the journey from the store to our house. I was grabbing another bag and then suddenly it ripped, causing one of the bottles (2 liter size) to fall onto the driveway - knocking the cap in just the right way that it came loose. The result? It became a horizontal rocket - it was off the driveway and far into the neighbor's yard in less than a second. And today when I went outside there was a line of frozen pepsi all along the driveway on the path that the bottle took. So, anything funny or interesting happen in your lives today?
  3. Okay. I've finished (finally). Starting stage 3. MET 38:45. Driving pic: MET: 53:41. Stage 3 time: 14:54. Total time: 51:22 (I think I did my math right). Starting stage 4: MET: 55:56. End: MET: 1:13:43. Stage 4 time: 17:47. Total time: 1:09:09. Again, check my math. I started stage 5 only a few seconds after I ended stage 4 and I forgot to take a screenshot so I'll use stage 4's end time for stage 5's start time. End time: 1:41:48. Stage 5 time: 28:05. Total time: 1:37:14. At this point I sent a refueling plane. Refueling. However, using the Klaw had the unfortunate side effect of resetting the MET clock. So the start time for stage 6 is shown as 0:23, but really it is still an hour into the mission. Henry Kerman climbing up the mountains. Hooray for jet engine alternators! Without them I would have run out of battery. End of stage 6. MET: 30:52. Stage 6 time: 30:29. Total time: 2:07:43. Again I forgot a starting screenshot, bear with me. The MET for the end of 6 will be used for the start of 7. Climbing a mountain. End of stage 7 - only 10km to go! MET: 53:32. Stage 7 time: 22:40. Total time: 2:30:23. Starting Stage 8, MET 53:39. And then I overshot and careened over a cliff and exploded. 26 meters from the flag. Luckily, I could limp back to the flag as the car was not fatally damaged. And I finish at MET 58:09. Time for stage 8: 4:30. Total time to complete the course: 2:34:53. Again, you might want to check my math on this, but that is my entry! Ideas for future courses: One that goes along a river. One to the tallest mountain on Kerbin. At least one on another planet. But I would like you to try making them a bit shorter.
  4. The first Kerbal I killed was when I attached boosters to one of my early rockets. But I didn't move the camera. And I had put on one booster instead of three by mistake... Also, on my first Kerballed Minmus landing, I almost kicked my lander over.
  5. Oh. Oops. Correcting now! (This is going to take a long time.) EDIT: Fixed! How in he world did I get them confused in the first place?
  6. I feel you. It is really long. VERY long. Actually, now that you mention it, scouting the route is a really good idea... Fortunately on the long flat stretches you can let KSP run in the background and check in every five minutes to stop and quicksave. Which reminds me... Okay, done. Car still hasn't crashed. Okay. So I finished stage 3 and stage 4 and I am about half way through stage 5 - which is really difficult. And it's night now. Some stats: I have to mess with the wheel settings fairly often. I have about 80/400 fuel left and will refuel at the end of stage 5. Maximum speed achieved so far is 91.5m/s. Also, if I could go back in time and redesign my car I would add more fuel, have less batteries, mount the sas and spoilers higher, and mount the wheels lower.
  7. Okay, I've completed stage two: MET: 16:21. Driving pics: MET: 37:23. Time for stage 2: 21:02. Total driving time: 36:28.
  8. Okay, I have finished stage 1. Car: It is an electric/fuel hybrid powered by four ruggedized wheels with four landing gear backups, and two Junos. MET: 25s. MET: 15:51. Total time: 15:26.
  9. Two questions, both which were probably answered already. 1) If you use fuel cells as your electricity source, is it considered electric, or electric and fuel? 2) Quicksaving and quickloading are allowed, right?
  10. Okay. Part VI: The Possibility Let's hope it doesn't delete itself again. Also, it probably won't be as good as the first time I wrote it, so this might be one of the worse chapters. Sorry for the weird font, I'm copy-pasting the part that didn't delete from google drive. And the font won't un-bold for some reason. And the images are super small. And the spacing is really weird.
  11. I am aware of that, it didn't work, and it doesn't matter now. I've already started rewriting it. But thanks anyway!
  12. Yeah, sometimes it seems stuff happens at the worst time possible. I decided to make Part 6 double length (2 moons instead of 1) and I usually back up my writing to Google Drive vie copy/paste about halfway through. But as luck would have it, I have one for part 1, one for part 2, and one for everything up to five, and I have never had to use them. I did not make a backup of part 6, and guess when I needed it the most? I hope this doesn't affect my enthusiasm for writing. I lost the original Part 35 of Project Intrepid and didn't write for two months, and I really hope that doesn't happen again here. *end rant* Thanks for the advice!
  13. Yep! And we'll find out why... soontm. Thanks! We'll see... I wrote 90% of Part 6. And then a weird thing happened and I deleted a sentence. So I pressed Ctrl+z. And it deleted 70% of what I had written. Redo did not work...
  14. Long story short I was writing another part of my mission report. They can take me hours and I usually write them on the forum software. I did one thing and it deleted a sentence. So I press ctrl+z. and it deletes half of the new part. Is there an redo command by any chance? Ctrl+y seems to do nothing. Can someone please help? Or do I have to spend another two hours rewriting my story?
  15. Now that's an article worth reading! 85 spaceflights - that works out to one every 4-6 days on average! Thanks!
  16. Four things. 1) You might want to remove the first word from your title. Some of the mods might not appreciate it. 2) A lot of people would appreciate it if you didn't type in all caps. 3) You might want to post screenshots. 4) Wow, a spaceplane to Dres? I want one!
  17. No, are you insane? I am not a fan of the ceilings. How do I make cobblestone in Minecraft?
  18. Yesterday I got bored and decided to make the smallest plane I could. One Juno got it to nearly 800m/s in level flight. And aside from early career, I don't use the non-retractable solar panels.
  19. Yay! It's back! I'm not trying to be angry here, just helpful, but in the last panel you called both probes "Adventurous 3." You should add this to your sig. Come to think of it, I should probably add Nightmares to my sig as well...
  20. Okay, I've started the mission report. The link is here. EDIT: Agh, the link is not working. Just realized it now. There is a working one in my signature. Also, image montage:
