  1. Hi Logicsol, welcome to the community I hope you have a lot of fun here, now go launch some rockets!
  2. Hiya Ohm Machre, welcome to the community Feel free to take a look here for loads of parts packs for KSP, and this new thread shows a huge range of currently working add-ons Have fun!
  3. Hi harleymaster64, welcome to the community Jeb is a hard headed little blighter isn't he? Lucky he didn't land head first on anything important, like the KSC
  4. Hi Tommb2909, paypal can handle your UK money just fine, you don't even need a paypal account, as they can handle credit cards. I think KSP will cost about £11.22 now
  5. Hi Fweeba, welcome to the community Handy stuff to know? Hmmmm.... WASD and QE will rotate parts in the VAB and SPH, Shift will let you rotate with more precision. Shift+click in the VAB on any part to move the whole rocket, Alt+click to duplicate a section of your craft. Alt+Z will Undo. Hold middle mouse to move the camera in interesting ways. Keeping your G meter in the green will help avoid your rockets breaking up, and reduce fuel use when ascending. Capslock will give you finer flight control. "C" EVA's your Kerbal, "V" changes camera mode. Bigger is not always better, you can get to Duna with 7 parts. You are a Curious George, you need 5 posts to become a Bottle Rocketeer and no longer have your posts moderated, plus you will then be able to edit your profile. Land slowly, <5m/s is good. L is for your Kerbals lights.
  6. I agree with PakledHostage on this, it does seem that parts of only a few kilos would be far too light, but I think that ultimately the units used are ambiguous. Also, they are all without doubt Metric.
  7. According to the Wiki, everything is in Newtons and Kilograms, probably because Kerbals are supposed to be so small.
  8. Thats because Unity uses rawinput, not directinput, to make it cross platform compatible. Some joystick drivers might actually do more harm than good here, such as with the Microsoft joysticks and pads that like to use Xinput instead. The stick might work with the basic Windows HID drivers, but you'll lose a lot of functionality, especially with fancy sticks.
  9. Hi CommanderLOL, welcome to the community For def's you should buy KSP, you are missing out on all the new planets and features such as EVA'ing your Kerbals And $18 is not much, when you consider that all future updates will be free.
  10. Iannic-ann-od, can you add a license to this, if it's there I couldn't find it.
  11. Hi Dehz, welcome to the community Lets see now, this might interest you, or this, or maybe even this, have fun
  12. Hiya shellfree, welcome to the community Have fun on the forums

    Hi there

You are a bottle rocketeer now case, so no more moderation of posts for you, just don't turn out to be a russian or chinese spambot As for the shadows, it is possible that your UnityGraphicsQuality registry key needs to be reset to 3, or you need to delete your settings.cfg, or both. For the key, look in the Wine registry, hkey_local_user\software\squad\kerbal space program\ For the settings.cfg, it is in the same folder as KSP.exe
  14. Sometimes, people look at their life and long for more, it could be that your friend just wants to do new things for a change. So maybe think about what you could do that he'd be interested in doing as well, and ask him if he'd like to join you but don't feel down if he says no, his issues are most likely nothing to do with you. Talk to your friend though, as Ted suggests, he might be willing to open up, but don't force the issue, he needs to be willing to talk.
  15. Hi xptical, welcome to the community I have not used that controller before so don't know if it has any specific issues, but I would not be surprised if rawinput, which Unity games use, cannot handle something so complex. Hopefully someone else here has one of these and can help you.
  16. The point of the game is to have fun I prefer to hand-fly, as I find that fun, but I'll not look down on someone for using Mechjeb, I have used it myself (but I wont trust it to land me)
  17. I cant speak about Captain Skunky royalkingofgames, but I'm sure if you searched enough you'd find what you are looking for, it's best to remember all the great work he did here for the community though. As for Tosh, he found he just wasn't playing KSP anymore so is taking a break, he'll be back one day. Also, I'm going to have to close this, sorry.
  18. If I'm right, you should see your height fluctuate while orbiting, but you should not actually lose altitude over time, it'll seem to fall and rise with each revolution.
  19. How much height do you lose Abraxas? If the pod is at one end, that is where the measurement is taken from, and it'll look like you are losing height when you rotate around Kerbin.

    Hi there

It's sluggish for me as well, it's a problem with Unity under Wine, I have a few other Unity games and they all run slow. For some reason, shadows wont work for me at resolutions higher than 1024, currently I use 1440x900 so KSP fits my screen though. Unity uses Rawinput rather than Directinput, but Wine has only just recently added the rawinput patch to the core code, there's still no joystick support though, but that's why the mouse didn't fully work in older versions of Wine. Sound is a pain, it sometimes just crackles and pulseaudio has to be killed, I found as well that Wine didn't play nice with Pulse on 64bit Ubuntu, as it would lock the soundcard if it got the chance, I ended up reverting to 32bit to fix it.
  21. Changed my mind, for now at least.... The Destroyer, I'll fix the poll for you, if I can remember how
  22. jonnern might be wondering exactly how to EVA a Kerbal.... On the crew portraits you will see EVA and IVA when you mouse over them, click EVA to exit a Kerbal, click IVA for a cool interior view (not all cockpits are finished yet though)
