  1. Not even if you edit the version number in the file Sbowyer28?
  2. Hi Alexander_Kerbing, welcome to the community and thanks for a fun read You can change between nearby craft with the [ and ] keys, and you should be able to hit Escape and end the Kerbals "flight" before they hit the ground, or while they are on the ladder if they grab hold in time. Rendezvous can be pretty hard but a lot of fun, I tend to eyeball it, if you are behind the ship when you are up there, drop to a lower orbit, it'll be faster while a higher orbit will slow you down. There's a nifty crew tank around here somewhere that you can use for rescues, ahh here it is. Good luck Alexander_Kerbing Dangit, pipped to the post.
  3. Mediafire should work for you cdrapala, upload it there then post the address to the mediafire page here
  4. This was happening to me, but with a small RCS tank instead of the ASAS, I even strutted the thing to prevent this to no avail. It turned out that the direction of the strut holding the RCS tank was critical to holding it in place, if you run the strut from the ASAS or RCS tank to the pod, it'll fail. But if you run the strut from the pod to the RCS tank, it'll hold, even one strut is enough, you don't even need one from the tank to the chute. I think it's the pods mounting point itself that is to blame here, and as for the strut, I guess the check to see if the joint is overloaded happens before the check to see if the strut holds it on if it's on the wrong way round.
  5. Yeah it'll only do that if you will be close enough to enter Duna's SOI, If you are ahead or behind you can go into a lower or higher solar orbit to catch Duna up, wasteful of fuel I know but I do that rather than miss or reload.
  6. Anywhere you like Daniboo, it's just the code for the plugin, you don't even need to unzip it to be honest.
  7. Hi ProbeIke, try changing the value of this line in KSP_win\settings.cfg to a higher number: CONIC_PATCH_LIMIT = It'll add more orbit lines, watch out though, they get less accurate the more you add.
  8. I tried fuel lines every which way and can't get it to work like you want, I even tried different tank configurations like 4 into 2 into 2. This has to be a bug, I'd post a bug report here with as much info as you can including this affected craft, then the test team and developers can check it out, and hopefully fix it for 0.17.1, or 0.18 maybe.
  9. In your KSP_win folder is a plaintext file called settings.cfg, inside there is a lot of the settings that KSP uses, including one called CONIC_PATCH_LIMIT (its in caps) It's normally set to 2, and shows your current orbit and the next one, adding numbers adds orbit lines, though they get less accurate with each additional line. But even inaccurate, they can be a great help. Also, don't use wordpad to edit it.
  10. I'll tell you a secret Spinecone...... I don't know what all that stuff means either, I just eyeball it and fly by feel and dead reckoning, plus changing conic_patch_limit to 3 or 4 in the settings.cfg helps a lot
  11. Hi Tiron, you can post the link to a mediafire or filedropper page with your craft, or just pastebin it. I think adding fuel lines makes parts capable of transferring fuel still, maybe that's what is messing up your design?
  12. A craft file is just text, so pastebin will work fine, or mediafire or filedropper work quite well. The craft file itself is in KSP_win(or KSP_osx\Saves\yoursavename\ships\VAB(or SPH)
  13. Mostly playing very old games here, plus humble bundle stuff. Playing: KSP (Windows version In Wine) FTL Spacechem Thief 1 & 2 System Shock 2 Outcast I-war Rules of engagement 2 Waiting for: Xcom Enemy Unknown Nexus 2 Planetary Annihilation KSP (Wine Native)
  14. Hiya Spinecone, welcome to the community You can check out a good tutorial here for getting into orbit, and Kerbin spins the same way Earth does, with the sun rising in the east. This might help you with aiming for Duna, don't forget to take enough fuel to get back, or take a lot of sandwiches and a few good books for your Kerbals while they wait for the rescue ship
  15. Maybe this thread will get attention in the add-on board? I'll move it
  16. Welcome to the community Maxthrust, if you need any more help on stuff with KSP, drop by the How-To forum
  17. Hi penguin405, welcome to the forums Have fun, now go launch some rockets
  18. I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed, but not on Greenlight.
  19. Hmmm this seems not to work like I'd hoped, the RCS tank is clipping into the other parts, they look pretty funky when attached to radial decouplers though.
  20. I think we are always going to get some bugs while KSP is still alpha The Destroyer, and 0.17 added a lot of content, so we got new bugs, this "crash when going to the tracking station" bug in particular is a bad one, no matter what we do we can't figure it out. MechJeb needs updating sure, it'll happen, R4m0n needs time to do it though. Squad know 0.17 is buggy, that's why we will be getting a 0.17.1 at some point which should address the main issues (hopefully the tracking station bug) Just keep your chin up mate, it'll get better
  21. Cowzgomooz, I expect we will all get Steam keys, but even if we don't, KSP will always be sold and available at the KSP store. I can't see why we wouldn't get Steam keys though, but doesn't Valve take a cut of each sale?
  22. Your store login and your forum login do not have to be the same, they can be if you want though, you can use the same email and password for both if you like. If you buy KSP you'll be prompted to provide an email for the confirmation email to be sent to, and be asked to input a password, the confirmation email can often end up in the spam box so don't forget to check it
  23. Hmm, no need for two of these, they are almost the same, I better close this one
  24. Hiya shea1980, welcome to the community KSP is still in development right now, and missions are not yet implemented though they will be eventually, the idea is to run a whole space program from humble beginnings Currently KSP is a sandbox game, but many players post challenges in this board for others to try, and though KSP is single player, people 'play' against each other by comparing challenge results, also there are some persistent world add-ons that allow players to share their saved files. Also, KSP is only purchasable from the store at this time, but will be on Steam eventually as well, Steam do not accept alpha games though. You only pay once, then you get the current alpha and every update after that for free, the price will gradually rise as development continues so it's best to get it now rather than wait
  25. Just one right this moment kleptokat, dial down on the profanity maybe?
