Hi SpaceBadger, welcome to the community Nice plane, and yeah getting airborne can be a pain with some designs, as the engines have a tendency to impact the runway, you might have to mount your undercarriage on pylons so you have more clearance below your plane, just to make things easier.

Hi Demonbob, welcome to the community Good to meet you too, I hope you manage to land on Eve as well, have fun flying

Hi Aescwulf, welcome to the community MET? is correct, the new tutorials are not yet implemented fully in KSP, though you can still access the old ones if you download the demo or the 0.16 which is still available at the store. The 0.16 has the hangar tutorial which the demo lacks.

Hello, I am glad to be here! Some questions....
sal_vager replied to Pandi's topic in Welcome Aboard
Hi Pandi, welcome to the community You can find the carts here if you haven't already. And there is a much heavier version available here -
Config edits are too easy to do, they are seen by most as a cop out. Anyway, permission is needed to reuse others code and parts, there were some allegations of theft, so the rules had to be tightened, so much so that Novapunch was unavailable for a while as well, as Tiberion couldn't get permission from Sundaypunch (he was just not here to ask) You can read the thread about the need for permission/source code/licensing here, and rather than being anti opensource, the fact that the code has to be available and that you can chose an opensource license for your stuff should really make opensource the logical option. I for one would prefer it if more members used a copyleft or opensource license for their stuff, but if they choose not to allow others to use their add-ons (without express permission at least) then we should respect their wishes. And anyway, if someone wont let you use their parts, we can always make more

It'd be nice to know more about how the OSX users are getting on with KSP, but I think this is really more of an Off-Topic thread than a Support thread, so I'll move it
-
Even inaccurate, the later orbit lines are still useful asAphox says, just knowing your orbit can intercept another body is very helpful, you can always fine tune the orbit later.
-
I can't remember what each mode is called, there is an old post by HarvesteR that explain them, really the settings file needs to have comments so we know whats what
-
The conic patch limit controls the number of orbit lines you see in the map, though each line will be less accurate than the one before. Conic patch draw mode will change how the lines are drawn, 3 is reasonably good if you feel like a change, it's best to experiment

When you can get some pennies together, you'll want to visit this page, and you can find the download instructions here
-
I know the demo is limited Calnorc, but it is for the best. You might want to take a look at the forum rules while you are here. Time to save your pennies now Calnorc
-
Calnorc, if your friend gave you KSP, then that is technically piracy, you really should play the demo until you can afford the game, you won't be getting a free copy from here, and now we know you are playing without paying, no one here will want to buy the game for you.
-
Hi Calnorc, welcome to the community Until you can get your own copy there is the KSP Demo, I'm not sure you'll find someone who will buy KSP for a total stranger, but it might happen Good luck getting the game, I hope we'll see you flying rockets soon.

Reanimation of dead Kermans?
sal_vager replied to Gunhed's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Make a backup of your file first Gunhed Then open it on notepad, and find the Kerbals State value, it'll be 0 for ready, 1 for assigned, 2 I forgot and 3 is toast. Change it to 0 and they should pop up on the next launch, or find the Crew value of your crafts pod, and change the number there to the number of the Kerbal you want -
A journey into the.. Actually, I don't really know.

pajee has been dealt with, now carry on guys, stay on topic -
Ho PhNon, welcome to the community Scrolling is simple, just mouse over the stage list and roll that wheel, you can also do other things, try holding Shift when rolling the wheel over your rocket, or holding Shift when clicking a part. Alt when clicking will duplicate a section of your craft which is very handy too. Of all the current add-ons, Tosh's carts are my favorite

This might help you.

Hi Pollo, welcome to the community You can find a lot of info on how to fly in KSP in this thread

Hi nlosee18, welcome to the community Congrats on your Mun missions, getting to Minmus is not much harder, just take a look in the map to see where Minmus's orbit is in relation to Kerbin and try to angle your orbit to match it, you can do this while launching if you are careful. Minmus is on a 4 degree tilt and you can tilt your own orbit if you thrust directly "up" or "down", you can switch the camera to Orbital mode with V and look at Kerbin to work this out, or you can use the navball.

[suggestion] Different names for rockets and missions
sal_vager replied to henryrasia's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Hi henryrasia, what you can do is this: Have one rocket called Duna Rover, then when you want to launch it, add a 1 after the name but don't save the craft, you will find you have a Duna Rover 1 on the launchpad and in the VAB, but if you reload the rocket it'll be Duna Rover again. You can have any number of identical craft with just name changes this way, just don't save the new name. -
They are here Syrtees, just Control+F for damned, they are both on the first page

okay this has been really bugging me...
sal_vager replied to zapy97's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Wordpad does not save files in the same way as notepad or notepad++, it'll mangle the file, making it unreadable by KSP. -

sal_vager replied to zapy97's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
First off, back it up, it's in your KSP\saves\YourGameNameHere folder. It is just plain text so open it with notepad or similar (not wordpad though) and scroll down. Take a good look, it's pretty basic, Jeb looks like this CREW { name = Jebediah Kerman brave = 0.5 dumb = 0.5 badS = True state = 1 ToD = 5943.16767581531 idx = 0 } -

They should be your very first flight crew zapy97, and will be reused if you return them alive, if they die it'll be a while before they are revived. You can edit your persistence file to set their state value, 0 is ready for use I think. Or you could edit the crew value of the pods in the persistence file, the numbers coincide with the crew, with 1,2 and 3 being Jeb, Bill and Bob.
