Have you got the Making History expansion? If you do you can spawn a built (or build a) vehicle with a few clicks anywhere you want to. MH actually makes a great testbed.
-
That new version definitely should be getting more recognition.

VAB - SPH Lights Off
LoSBoL replied to Castille7's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The author of the lights out mod @RealGecko is actually looking for someone to take over the mod. So if anyone is up for the task? -
You think the island airfield is hard to land on because it's short?
LoSBoL replied to GDJ's topic in The Lounge
Wow, thats amazing to read first hand! I've only 3 times had to pleasure of holding a stick of a Cessna myself, but these kind of experiences are a complete different dimension. I have complete faith in the piloting skills of others, but to do such things for myself with the responsibility over others, I think I'll pass. I'm also stunned at this FSX stuff, which I looked in to a bit because of the discussion here. Last time I tried Microsoft Flight Simulator there were still twin towers in it, but to see how far progress has come, wow, just wow. I know Samos like the back of my hand and been there nearly a dozen times, but to see how deceivingly real and detailed everything in FSX is, is simply mindblowing! I showed segments of this https://youtu.be/CQqzksLiZBw to my wife on a 12" FHD laptop screen, but only after touchdown she realised it wasn't the real thing! -
If you can't see them in current saves, press escape and go to the difficulty settings, you can activate the other lauchsites from there.

Resolution Settings Not Persisting
LoSBoL replied to Windspren's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I can confirm this behaviour with my install as well. The resolution does stick when set though. You could give @linuxgurugamer's mod Anyres a try and see if the resolution sticks, I found it to be a very usefull tool. -

LoSBoL replied to GDJ's topic in The Lounge
I just had to watch this to see if Skiathos was in it, and it was! I've had the pleasure of doing a stopover there 3 times with a commercial airliner, and it really is an exhilarating experience to both land and take off from with a runway of just 1600 meters. They can only do stopovers there without refeuling because a fully loaded airliner won't be able to take off. I like the experience so much I'd gladly take the detour to my final destination just for the kicks. After experiencing this, Madeira airport is just 'meh'. Another 'fun' experience is Samos Airport with the wind blowing in the wrong direction, which happens quite frequently, it's considered the most difficult approach of an airstrip in the whole of Greece. -
If there is anything I've learned from my working career up till now is that for the biggest majority people are lazy when it comes to fetching information or workflow by them selves, now matter how important it is for them. You virtually have to slap them in the face with it. Yes, I think its a good suggestion to implement a in game browser, It would certainly help to interest players more if they are presented with missions instead of relying on them to find their own way. 'Ease of use' creates interest.

I don't know if its just me, but reading these posts it actually sounds like everyone is running a Space Program. (Looks at trackingstation: ehm... 28 flights in progress)

Let Hollow Parts Protect Contents from Drag
LoSBoL replied to OHara's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
And here I was, thinking it was a bug which needed a fix. -
I don't understand why the spaguetti rockets are not fixed
LoSBoL replied to Luc1fer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I like to sit next to the aisle when flying, preferably way at the back. Its fun to see the floor of the isle flexing when taking off and climbing to cruise altitude. If it didn't flex, it would probably break. -
I'd subscribe And many would it guess, but you are right, I'm no Game Community manager, so it's all gut feeling and I could be dead wrong. That was not what I was aiming at, I think a subscription based game creates expectancies or even demands. Which is perfectly understandable, I just don't see SQUAD wanting to be pushed by those expectations or wanting to deal with complaining customers who's expectations aren't met, rinsing and repeating that on a monthly bases. It looks to me like a setup for dissapointment with an uncertain outcome of what could be the end result of such a decision. Players who like the content which is in the DLC can chose to buy it, a monthly subscription does not leave much choice. But you are right, segregation would probably be the outcome, but I also think a monthly subscription would end in segregation. Agreed, I'm jumping to conclusions
-
I think a monthly subscription would create vast amounts of expectations by the playerbase, probably not very likely that SQUAD would like to see that happen. I think they'd rather stick with DLC's because you can better manage the expectations of the players because they have a choice to opt-in if they like the content.

Likewise, but I'd also settle for a Valentina blueprint, I would love to see her floating around inside my windowed tower PC @Darth Badie, would you be able to upload it somewhere like you did with the Mk1-2 Command Pod?
-
Wow, this is amazing... yet again you've hit the snare. This fills me with emotion. @SQUAD, this really should be on JoolTube!
-
Whohoo! Thank you guys, You all rock!
-
Thanks for the addendum, those are exactly my thoughts as well.

I would love to see above become a common habit in future releases. Announce an update after finishing bug testing. There is no hurry in normal circumstances. We can a week after finishing development. I can understand though as to why in this case the urge to announce the update before it was finished was preferable. But when there is no such urge, it shouldn't be needed to announce before definitive development and bug testing has taken place.

I think we can debate here about bug-testing and when to release all day long, but it seems both Squad and Private Division are well aware of the issues and working on it for future releases. Squad seeking QA Engineers Private Division: Lead QA Tester Private Division: Release Manager KSP 1.4.x is Private Divisions first release ever, maybe difficulties could have been expected?

I can agree with that fully, I would rather have a less intrusive EULA for KSP rather then a generic one covering the whole of Take 2's portfolio. I take some comfort with giving information on 'voluntary basis' and them not crawling that info from my machine. The day KSP does become spyware though, that would be the time when the feces hit the fan. But whe haven't reached that as of yet, and I doubt it will come that far.

Personal information is information that identifies you and that may be used to contact you online or offline. The Company collects personal information from you on a voluntary basis. https://www.take2games.com/privacy/#3 With whom, if anyone, your personal information will be shared Third parties that come to my mind are Steam and/or the Playstation Network. Yes, but they may only ask and registrar your address for shipment, if they are able to collect it from you. Which they can't without you giving them consent to do so.
-
The photo is actually a good example to explain it by. Because this forum lets you upload a photo which you can use as an avatar if you want to. They can't provide you the opportunity to do so if you would decline them from collecting, and sharing your avatar to other users of the forum. The same goes for gender and age/birthdate, which you can choose to share to others on the forum/internet. Your address could be used for billing information of your original purchase of KSP, or if you choose to enter a contest and win a Kerbal pluchie, they can't send you if they may not collect your address.

KSP hasn't become spyware. The EULA isn't important, Take 2's privacy policy however is. And everybody jumping the EULA bandwagon neglects reading the privacy policy. There you can find as to how, and why certain information is gathered, and what's it used for. Reading that sheds light on the EULA and then the EULA starts making sense. Here's a link to Take 2's privacy policy. https://www.take2games.com/privacy/

Wow, over sixteenthousand! upvotes and 1300 messages in less than 24 hours, that's one big bandwagon. It's sad really, that so many people just jump on the hype train... It does hurt to me to see this happening with the game I love most of all games I've ever owned. Well, If you ever wandered if there was any life left in KSP, with that one post on Reddit is a pretty big testament to me that its alive AND kicking.
