  1. Do they? Take a look at Rockstar and what they are selling in their shop. just another T2 company. T2 loves continuing cash flow, thats why they were interested in the KSP franchise in the first place, it's a niche but will keep selling to new people finding the niche. They are in it for the long haul.
  2. Yes, It's needed (at least for me) to force the 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions by changing the values in settings.json, I expect Intercept to change that later on in development.
  3. I did not come across any issues at all when using in-house streaming to my laptop, used it the whole evening yesterday. Ran super stable and fluent. The rig actually running the game is stable as well when playing on it, as for system specs it exceeds recommended specifications.
  4. With a 4460 you are somewhat scrapping the bottom of the barrel, I had a 4440 which was 200mhz lower clocked, and I exchanged it when I discovered KSP 1 and what a resource hog it was on the CPU. Things will most probably not get much better for that CPU in KSP 2.
  5. That's exactly what I was figuring as well, this game looks created for at least 21:9 and the UI design has been thought trough with that in mind. a 16:9 4K screen is nice off course, but not at all helping in KSP, you need width to open up the game, its UI and immersion. Funny thing is, a 32:9 screen with double QHD resolution (5120x1440) still has about 10% less pixels than 4K, making it easier on the GPU.
  6. Yes, It's good isn't it And how about all that beatifull workspace in the VAB? I'm never going back to 16:9 (unless I'm streaming KSP to my laptop)
  7. I really like how KSP2 handles 21:9 and 32:9 screens. The UI really opens up, both in the the VAB as in flight mode. The UI elements of the part picker in the VAB are of a great size making it a lot easier to select parts and build your craft. Even with a few paw's open you have plenty of workspace which you don't have anymore when playing 16:9. And the same goes for in flight, the navball is big and detailed enough not to dissappear in the left corner, but be very useful in flight. Some paw's are grouped together neatly and some are spread out accros the screen. None however are uninutitively placed and I don't feel the need to even ask the devs to make them 'draggable' to where I want them. I think they nailed it. For some screenshots ;
  8. I actually don't think it's a question of choice. Loaded up the bigger (forgot the name) rocket, wanted to take it to space, didn't work due to the poodle and the decouple sticking together. Back to the VAB and with a lot of tinkering I found out that if you give the decoupler and engine their separate stage it would work. So I got to space with a lot of dV left, so why not take it to the moon? Creating a maneuver node is fiddly but doable, but the flight path in Mun's soi was not visible. So you don't know what the end result would be. After circelizing and enjoying the view the orbit was decaying, which I found out due to the surface getting closer and closer after some time. So what do you do? Let's just land, enough dV in the pocket to do so. Time for EVA and some screenshots, beautifull! So what happend more on the mun? Having my craft go through the surface and to the center of the moon when loading the save. Having kerbal dissappear when loading the save. Having not been able to enter the lander. Having the dV go to zero when entering the lander. A lot of saving and loading, but finally it was ready for departure, and after circelizing again the path out of Mun's soi and the path beyond its soi was showing. I had just about enough dV to make it back to Kerbin. Untill I loaded the save again and all flight paths disappearing. Loading the saves didn't help and I'm quite stuck now with about 15 dV left while not being able to see what path the lander is going to follow. Here on the forum the first challenge is to take your craft to the moon, it's a challenge (of perseverance) indeed. Although in early access, this should become a more 'playable' state then its currently in real quick, because it will otherwise loose interest fast among players. I don't think it's a choice. I think any feedback on the game received can go on to the pile and they don't even have to look at it, there are that many bugs which needs to be squated first. I share your concerns, and the only thing I hope is that Intercept will be allowed to be in for the long haul. KSP2 1.0 is a very very long journey. KSP was granted the long haul, so it's not something new which makes me hopeful.
  9. I expect that to be added later, for now you can force your monitor resolution by editing the configfile in notepad to lose the black bars and run 16:10, see below topic how to do so;
  10. (Super) Ultrawide enthusiast here, and I'm loving what I'm seeing up till now! The original KSP did a great job in suporting playing around with different resolutions, it looks like the Devs have not forgotten Ultra Wide lovers in the sequal! I'd almost say KSP2 was designed with (at least) a 21:9 monitor in mind for the GUI to come alive. Here's some pictures of the VAB; Wide 16:9 QHD ( 2560x1440 ) UltraWide 21:9 UWQHD ( 3440x1440 ) Super UltraWide 32:9 DQHD ( 5120x1440 ) With the Part Picker, Part Info and Part Manager it gets real crowded quick and the actual building you're rocket narrow, but when opening up with a wider screens, the experience gets a whole lot better, the parts in the part picker and UI have a great size for wider monitors. In flight I'm happy as well with what I see, I wished for 'draggable' UI when I saw screenshots of the UI enabling you to just place UI elements wherever you want. But with what I'm seeying on my own rig they already took a good look at where everything 'should' be placed if you have a very wide monitor, just like with the part picker in the VAB the Navball is big enough of size and detail to 'not be' misplaced in the most left corner, and its easy to navigate, some UI elements grouped together and some aren't. Below a few pictures that actually don't do it justice, I'll shoot some new ones accompanied with performances later when in a spaceship (when I get my rig back from my daughter who NEEDS to play Spyro the Dragon...) Offcourse not everything has been done yet to support wider screens then 16:9, like loadingscreens needing to be enveloped and not stretched or zoomed, a way to change FOV and some more cameratools, but I'm confident those 'details' will come later in development. Well done so far Intercept !!! current specs; I7-12700KF, 32Gb DDR4, RTX3080 10Gb, PCIE SSD Updates on performance running the game later.
  11. Superb, that worked for me to get it to 5120x1440
  12. Don't forget you keep paying after you buy that shiny new monster card. I bought a 3080 in December and overclocked it a tiny bit untill I saw it drew 440 watt while playing games.
  13. Business day ended at 1500, KSP2 available at 1500, hit the buy button when commuting, stopped by a liqueur shop and bought myself a nice Bourbon for tonite, to celebrate while hitting the 'play' button.
  14. We've been waiting so long for our journey to start, it's all of you who should be thanked for enabling us to finally do so, thank you!!
  15. T2 loves continuous cash flow, and with the KSP franchise they got that one in the bag. That's why they own Rockstar as well, they are definitely in for the long haul. KSP might be a niche, but is a game that kept selling, even up till today. T2 has every reason in continuous development of KSP2, they need the game to be as accessible as it can be, including lower required specifications so it's available to mid range machines, as much people need to be able to play and buy the game.
  16. I would like to know a prognoses of the frequency of rolling out updates, what can we expect? Weekly updates with bug squating and performance upgrades? monthly updates or quarterly updates like it has been with KSP?
  17. Thanks for the elaboration guys, it's hard sometimes to intrepid if not in my native language, especially when it goes for writing.
  18. I hope that with what I posted I did not come across as berating or condescending, because that's not what I wanted to express. We're dealing with emotions here, and everybody is different, which everybody is entitled to be, they're is no wrong in emotions. I will absolutely enjoy what will be presented, and there is no lack of good will from the developers and what they aim for. And I keep being hopeful that in the end we'll get most if not all which could have been seen in al the episodes of the last years. I do however see what has been shown from the ESA event to being the current baseline, and that sounds to me as a whole lot of work to be done, and a very very long journey ahead. KSP2 will be a first day buy whatever, accompanied by support for at long as it needs to take.
  19. I can only speak for myself, but the specification release last week, and the whole ESA event crew which made video's and opinions of the current state of KSP2 was a harsh reality check. Edit; I'm still excited though to get my hands on it tomorrow and find out for myself. I have no expectations on things I saw the last couple of days being fixed before tomorrow. But I'll accept that, because I am off the fierce opinion that I'm not owned anything, even if I spend 50 dollars on it.
  20. I don't know what happened on discord last week because I'm not a member, but there is only one which is responsible for managing expectations, and that's not a community. Also, people need to be able to vent, they need an exhaust valve, they need to be able to rant, it's the first stage of coming to acceptance. I'm glad that opportunity is given, at least here on the forum.
  21. And this message was to me the main message everyone at the ESA event were voicing and people have to come to acceptance with. And off course that message isn't coming easy for many, because expectations were not managed correctly.
  22. Off course they'll profit from it, one thing doesn't exclude the other. But if it was just play testing for bugs it could have been done behind the scenes. The state of the game wouldn't have been known to the public and 'the blow' would have come tomorrow, and would have been bigger. To me it's like the bad news letters dropping on the doormat on friday for you to find when coming home from work, which makes you have the whole weekend to come to acceptance and the initial caused temper to be diminished on Monday. Thousands of people are all hoping in from tomorrow, and they now know what they are up for. From what I've seen though, even the early access isn't ready for thousands of people to give feedback on or go bug hunting, for that the basis isn't finished enough.
  23. I've upgraded from a I5-4440 pc with 8Gb of ram to a heavily optimized I7-4790K when I discovered KSP and experienced what an resource hog it was. When KSP2 was announced I knew I wanted, not even knowing I needed, to upgrade when it hit the market. I wanted the best I can to run KSP2. So at the end of 2021 I bought a superwide 49" 5120x1440 monitor, and a little while later an RTX 2080 because the uptick in pixels was a bit to much for the GTX 970 which was running 4480x1024 pixels. November 2022 it was time, and I started collecting the parts needed to build me a new high performance PC to be ready when KSP2 would be launched. I've ended up with an I7-12700KF, 32Gb of low latency Ram and an 3080 10Gb. I'm fortunate that I live in an small pretty digitalized country with a huge second hand market, so I could be able to profit from that, a little patience was needed, but I got deals on every part I needed and the only thing I bought new is an 4th Gen PCIE SSD. I was able to take the economic route this way. With the recommended specs dropping I was surprised, because I still don't see as to why I would need the 3080 considering it's a beast of a card pulling 440 watts alone, so I'm eager to see how the journey goes from here. I do play other games sometimes, but I didn't upgrade for those, I did it for KSP2 and KSP2 alone. Because it's not just a game for me, it's the game for me.
  24. To me they its more like they were flown in to give us the first glimpse of KSP2 and the state its in, they weren't needed to play test KSP2, Intercept knows perfectly fine in what condition it's in, now we know as well. My opinion is they've been flown in to manage expectations. We've gotten perfectly honest opinions from them and have a new baseline of what we can expect tomorrow.
  25. Cloud saving, having all my games on one platform to be downloaded and the most important thing, in house streaming of games to my (considered ancient) laptop flawlessly without running hot or depleting the battery is a no brainer to me, Steam it is.
