  1. There is a difference in staying in touch with the sentiment of the community and confessing to a botched release. There is nothing to gain from that last one, the community gains nothing from it, it won't get what it wants from that in the end. They need to get their head down and prove themselves. You don't get that from succumbing to the negativeness thats going around, but from looking forward, any project in which you let your ears hanging to the bad things you come across will fail, you need a thick skin and a being an unphased attitude to continue to get on top of the project, or you won't manage to get where you need to go.
  2. KSP did not 'just keep selling copies and made a populair DLC' They kept selling copies by expanding the market who to sell it to. The DLC included. They did so by providing tools SQUAD never wanted to, like dv and twr readouts, Steam workshop and saves, transfer windows planners, alarmclock, ground science and robotics. KSP2 is not there yet, the reason they already launched it is because of short term revenue, they did so because they assesses that it would not harm long term revenue even with, which they won't if and when the game gets expanded. They are in it for the long haul, just like with KSP, because there is no end in the continuous cashflow for the next 15 to 20 years. KSP2 like KSP is long term investment with continued revenue, the IP falls perfectly in line with T2's long term vision of continuous cashflow.
  3. I'm playing with the 'Don't trust the game' way of thinking. It's such an early release that you can't trust on save games or mechanics working properly. With that in mind I'm running small endeavors in single missions instead of massive undertakings, which may or probably will get botched. I can have fun with not just me failing, but the game failing on top of that and trying to work my way around that. So no rage quitting from me, although off course I do hope we will get an stable platform as updates progress.
  4. This to me is missing perspective, seen from an users eyes I can follow your point, but try to look at it from a projects perspective which you've been working on for years, when the milestone, the dot that's been on the horizon for years is reached, you celebrate.
  5. Speaking for myself staying within Kerbals SOI visiting Duna for just a couple of times the driving factor is time. Not the lack of in real life, not the time spent behind the keyboard but time as in 'in-game' progression of time. I ussualy play Career to get a few contracts and colonize Kerbin's SOI with relays, space stations, fuel depots, tourist hotels, travel routes and ISRU sites. Now all that is just a couple of in-game days away, and I dont feel comfortable leaving the whole 'space program' untouched and wandering for in-game months to years because of interplanetary missions. Anyway, something I really need to get rid off and get comfortable with, with interstellar coming some day. Anyway, in sandbox KSP2 I've already been to Duna twice and to Eve, and loving it so far. The only thing I'm really missing right now is ISRU.
  6. I don't agree, seeing what this big mainstream publisher has done with KSP since they got their hands on it, they basically changed the development direction of squad and turned the geeky figure it out yourself space simulator into a game which is currently KSP. They funded development for over 4 years after they took over, not for the love of the game, but to sell it to a broader market, which they succeeded at. They are doing the same with KSP2, prognossing a decade of support and updates, which not only keeps the current player base interested, but to expand the game into a worthy successor of KSP. Yes, it's a mess right now, but I'm certain it will get better. Why? Money, they need to sell this game, which they will when they game and the development proving itself.
  7. I think that with your basic system it would be quite a gamble upgrading the GPU, an Xeon W3550 is 14 years old, that is most deffinately holding performance back, the 300 pounds would get you an Mainboard, CPU and 32 GB DDR4 well within the recommended specs, and you can buy an GPU later.
  8. You're absolutely right, an easy fix probably which a transfer window is not. It's not vissible at the moment if they are involved in working on a transfer window planner, or not. I guess will have to wait and see what QOL features are coming to the base game. I do recall that in an EA event interview from either Matt Lowne or Scott Manley it was mentioned there were two QOL feature updates prognossed before taking the next milestone step in the roadmap. I'm eager to hear what they'll contain.
  9. To be honest, yes, I to would think KSP2 should be able to run on internal graphics of not to old laptops. It's one of the things that made KSP so good, making it accessible to many that are not just your typical 'gamers'. It's a massive market of people who would enjoy it, which won't get served with the current high system recommendations. Which is saddening, when looking at what is served graphic wise, I can't see why it shouldn't run om onboard graphics at 720p resolution, this isn't Cyberpunk.
  10. Good question in my opinion. Do we need to ask for a transfer window planner, alarm clock or kerbal chutes for them to get into KSP2? Or is it planned already. Since a somewhat funny 'we can't drive into the garage' gets picked up and fixed like it is a priority I'm somewhat puzzled on what to give feedback on.
  11. I can get into the reason why they say it might not be fun to have lifesupport for the majority of players. Seeing the scope of what they intend to put in the game it's going to be challenging to master on its own, which lifesupport could make it harder and questionable if that would entail 'fun' for many. I wouldn't mind if they put something like a 'snacks' implementation in KSP2, but would definitely make it toggleable so you can choose to challenge yourself further, or not.
  12. In the AMA posted yesterday; I sincerelly hope that this reason is not also being used for not releasing other than 16/9 resolutions for KSP2 at the moment. Forcing other ratio's and resolutions by manipulating the setting.json file is a workaround which I hope will not be needed for long. Only thing I can say is that I've played this game in both 32:9 as in 16:9 (streaming to my laptop) equally and I encounter the exact same bugs. Anyway, this is me saying; Please give us the option to run KSP2 in the native resolutions and ratio's of our monitors like both KSP and KSP2 does mavelously as well, preferably as soon as possible in one of the next updates.
  13. I knew it!! In Januari when the Time Lapse of the KSC was posted it immediately gave me the 'Wanderers' vibe just because of the background music alone, While I haven't been to many places in KSP2 yet, just the Mun, Minmus and Duna, the music bringing the Wanders vibe is spot on!! You've hit the nail Nate, awesome! ps, you can visit some of the places shown in the Wanderers video in real life, I'm no base jumper and actually scared of heights, but have stood on the edge of the 600 meter high plateau twice in the last 15 years.
  14. Try alt-tab'ing out of the game right after you start it and see the first splash screen. Let the game start up in the background before alt-tab'bing back. I read that this workaround worked for many to stop crashing or freezing on the menu screen. Worth a try.
  15. Them Kerbals would have no difficulty at all fitting you in an command pod of any size...
  16. So neither I guess, since we're looking for excuses. I bet you've put Kerbals into cargobays without a second thought.
  17. There is a pool? Now one thing's on my mind, can we catch fish there?
  18. Can somebody enlighten me on how long I have to keep paying for parking guards to keep them pesky kerbals from parking all over the place? The problem is with just one parking before the VAB entrance and within ten minutes there are a dozen copycats. Both tow and survaince costs are going up rapidly and I don't feel there is any sense of urgency to topple the problems. What's Take2's address, I'd like to file the bill.
  19. Two things you can try to play with, setting a custom resolution by playing with the settings.json file. KSP2 like KSP seems to be very forgiving if you want to run it in ackward resolutions. Second thing you can try is to force this unity game to use borderless windows by using a command line argument. See below two links which might help you https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Kerbal_Space_Program_2
  20. A long time ago I crashed my bike on a racetrack, I crashed while trying to keep up with the wife. I've come to terms as to who really is the better pilot. So who'd you choose to share a command pod with and feel safer?
  21. I was going 'hurray, that's fast' when I read this a few weeks ago, because I couldn't drive up the ramp. Fixed: Improved collision for structures around KSC, including parking garage and fuel facilities Didn't have in mind we couldn't even drive in anymore. Never mind, this may go on a backlog, other issues are better to be handled first.
  22. In the VAB when wanting to scroll up/down with the middle mouse button, it's not intuitive that it scrolls the wrong way, especially considering this is not seen anywhere else within the game. Can you at least make it toggleable to invert the scrolling direction? This isn't a touchscreen.
  23. I've 'tested' 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions, and it looks awesome, clearly this game was made for wider screens looking at how the UI is implemented. And since it does not seem to cause any more bugs. Only thing that needs to be worked on further is loading screens not being stretched but enveloped so we have black bars left and right when loading. Can you stop the game forcing 16:9 resolutions?
  24. I liked that one, it was that out of place that it felt somewhat like an Easter egg.
  25. You can force many Unity games to do borderless window, also works for KSP2; https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Kerbal_Space_Program_2 The option is there but acts as exclusive fullscreen.[5] Enabled windowed mode and use -popupwindow as a command line argument to switch to borderless windowed.
