But they look cool.
-
@Gargamel I think you may have accidentally created a challenge here. "Make X number of kerbals pass out at 6x tolerance without leaving the atmosphere." This is proving difficult.
-
I kinda want a career game now, just to do these contracts.
-
Empty the payload booster, should get you quite a bit extra dV. I would also ditch the middle engine and merge those two stages. Oh, and welcome aboard!

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?

You might say there was a ... 2 hour... delay?

Just chicken so far. I'm sure I'll get some beef ones too, and chances are I'll start making them myself. I generally prefer chicken with tortillas. I haven't dipped any yet, but I gotta do that too. Might grab some queso salsa tonight... I can't believe I'm almost 31 and have never had one of these before.

Really hard to suggest much more without pictures. Can you upload some screenshots? -
ADD MOD PARTS
Geonovast replied to Director Kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
$10,000 would be an insult to some of the mod makers around here. I can think of several members around here who likely have thousands of hours into making and maintaining their mods. $100... just... no. That would be insulting even for a mod that's nothing more than a stack of MM patches. Couldn't disagree with this more. Manually installing mods could not be easier. -
I recently discovered Taquitos and now I can't stop thinking about Taquitos.
-
Aren't there tech-tree altering mods? You could also write a series of MM patches that relocate the parts you want to be earlier in the tree.
-
Legos? Of course. KSP is the best Lego game I've ever played. These were always more my jam though:
-
Welcome! Seems you've got pretty much everything down. Heavy cargo SSTO planes are something I doubt I'll ever grasp. The people that build SSTOs to Jool are magicians to me.

Pull an asteroid produces zero dv?
Geonovast replied to CrashyMcCrashFace's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Luckily not needed in this case though! OP, what you're essentially trying to do is drive a car with the rear bumper being chained to the road. -
How do I use the MK 1-3 module?
Geonovast replied to TheAngryHulk's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Can you post a Screenshot? That is very odd. -
Nope. @MaxPeck got it. Nope. I guess I did a worse job explaining it than I'd though! Go me!

Punk grows up to join the agency that killed his dad, saves the planet.
-
In stock? No. Because of the tree-style configuration of ships, you can only have one connection point between two pieces. Each part can have unlimited children, but only one parent. There's always KJR, but I imagine being a purist, you're not going to use mods. Autostrut is purely stock though, so I'm not sure why you're against it for purist reasons.

Build A Rover Transport System
Geonovast replied to SnacklessKerbal's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The bulk of the rover is from Buffalo: With some pieces from DMagic Orbital Science: And buttoned up with some Universal Storage: Also note all these screenies are from 1.3 or 1.3.1 I'm working on rover lander for EVE right now, can get you some screenshots for that too tonight. Are you looking for just delivery vehicles, or reusable stuff to move the rover around? -
Any veteran tips for the docking inept?
Geonovast replied to djr5899's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Agreed. Once it becomes routine, then I don't see an issue handing it over. I'm as nervous as Jean-Luc Picard when it comes to handing control of my ships over to the computer. It's like driving a stick. You don't have to be good at it or like it, but you should know how to do it. -
Any veteran tips for the docking inept?
Geonovast replied to djr5899's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes, Mechjeb will do it - but: This is simply me sharing a viewpoint, not trying to cocerce you into doing or not doing something. I believe that by having a mod dock for you, you're doing yourself a disservice. It is (by my opinion, and many others') the most difficult thing to do in this game. It's frustrating, confusing, and it will have you pulling your hair out. Until you get it, that is. There's a bit of advice, a video, some other kind of tutorial out there that will finally relate and make you get it. And there's nothing quite like the first time you manage to dock. Even better than the first time you get to orbit. Once you get it, it will be second nature in no time. I was once in your shoes, now I'm assembling space stations with shuttles. I would not feel as awesome about that as I do if I was having a mod do it for me. Plus Mechjeb can get it wrong was worse than you are now. I know you have a lot of time in the effort already, I just believe it's worth the payoff. Just a thought This seems like a common issue with trying to control the craft based on actually looking at the ship. "Up" isn't necessarily "Up". When using [IJKL] to control the RCS translation, you want to focus on the navball. Once you get your two ships close (say, less than 200m apart), you'll want to stop by killing relative velocity. Seems you already have that part down. Next you'll want to point them at each other. Make sure your "control from here" points on both ships are set to the docking ports you're planning to dock. Once that's done, assure your SAS is on stability assist on your target, and that your SAS is set to target on your docking ship. Make sure your navball is in target mode (which it should be already, but always double check) Puff forward with your RCS using [H]. Don't go too quick, make sure you have enough time to slow down using [N] to less than 1 m/s for docking, but don't lollygag either, or the drifting will be a problem. Use [IJKL] to keep everything lined up. You want to keep your Target and Prograde markers lined up. With SAS on target mode, your will stay put, just make fine adjustments using [IJKL] to keep on top of it. -

@KerikBalm do they clip when you turn though? If not, mind sharing the craft file? I love the side by side docking. Could be pretty versatile if DockRotate ever gets a "free-spinning-washer" mode.

Keep in mind that some of these are heavily modded: -
[1.9.x] KERBAL MEDALS (for FINAL FRONTIER)
Geonovast replied to Daniel Prates's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
They can get knocked out, though. Suppose you could treat that as injured.
