Welcome! You'll probably find the in-game tutorials not very helpful, especially the docking one. When you get to docking, it'll probably be detrimental to play the in-game tutorial for it. Lots of help for it here (as it's easily the most difficult skill to master.)

I'm sure plenty of people have run into it before, but this is my first time seeing it. Wondering if it's fixable. UserA makes a post. UserB quotes that post. UserC highlights part of UserA's quote inside UserB's post, and hits the "Quote selection" button. Quote box appears in UserC's post box, attributed to UserB, even though UserA said it. I'm sure this is the source of most misquoting around here. Can anything be done?

I disagree. I believe it's the most common struggle, but I don't think the most common solution is "go get a mod that does it for me." Viewpoint is just skewed a bit since you don't see a barrage of people reporting routine docking. When I started, I easily had 50+ hours into this game every week. It was pretty much all I did, except for work and pretending to sleep.

Ugh. I'd say roughly 80% of my neighborhood drivers are the type to do twice the speed limit though the area (Speed limit on both my roads is 25mph, but some of those cars do near 60, and the bikes treat it like a drag strip), most of them also have very loud, very expensive stereos in their cars. Some of them I can hear from 4-5 blocks away. And they all have it. And all these people do is drive around. All day. All night. I can't wait to move.

https://meyerweb.com/eric/ksp/resonant-orbits/ Launch your carrier craft into your elliptical resonant orbit. At your PE, you release a satellite, and circularize the satellite, not the carrier craft. Warp your carrier to PE again, and release another satellite, circularize the sat. Rinse and repeat for however many sats you're using.

Quick guide to posting pictures on the forum.

I posted examples for Imgur and CubeUpload, which is what I use. There are plenty of image hosting sites, the process will be similar. You can even use FB if you'd like. - This is my banner photo on FB. Edit: FB works, but it appears their direct image URLs change over time, so it won't be permanent. -
Did you open it up and check for blown caps?

I usually have a movie going on one of the other monitors. If not, probably some music. Nothing specific "for" KSP though. Never been a fan of the stock KSP music, I just leave KSP muted.

Rover uncontrollable on Mun
Geonovast replied to Gilead's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You can actually test for close to Mun conditions at the KSC. Using the F12 menu, you can "hack gravity" to temporarily give Kerbin the Mun's gravity. Pretty sure this would muck up stuff in orbit, so I would do the testing in a separate sandbox save specifically for that reason. -
What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
Geonovast replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've been getting into the habit of disabling staging on late-mission decouplers. That was you either have to stick it on an action group (harder to accidentally hit, or impossible with AGX) or right click on it and decouple manually. -
No. There is such a thing as vegan leather. You will never find anyone who legitimately claims to be vegan wearing real leather.

You wont get one small enough in a standard set. I got a set of super tiny ones at Harbor Freight for like $4. So small you can barely see the flutes.

Yesterday, for the "Holiday", I pretended to care about Star Wars Episode I. I got about half way before shutting it off, but I was inspired. I know I'm not the first to do this, but I'm rather proud of it, especially with how easily I was able to do it. No, it doesn't hover(I'm not that talented), but it actually flies quite well. (The crash was my fault - mainly because I didn't take into consideration that most of its yaw ability is in the reaction wheels)

I actually had to drill out almost all the holes for the cap leads. Needless to say, I was shocked when it not only still worked, but worked well.

So just F12 the pod to Kerbin's orbit, and go get it from there.

When you lose probe control shortly before a maneuver, but are still pointing 'in-the-right-direction-ish', so you execute anyway. Still gets me an Ike flyby, so I'm good. I did that once twice. I sent a mission to the Mun, Jeb had a really cool landing on the edge of a crater, Bob got out to assemble the SEP base... only to realize that there were no tools aboard ship. So the aborted, went home, built another rocket, and headed back to the Mun. Same ship, same payload. Again, no screwdriver. At that point I just cheated a screwdriver into Bob's inventory.

Unlimeted offset tool
Geonovast replied to Dragonwarp's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I hold shift (on Linux) while using the move tool. Might be Alt on Windows. -
Agree it could be the caps. A few years ago I picked up a cheap 48 port gigabit switch on eBay. Listed as working, because it powered on. Got it, plugged it in to test it, and I had transfer speeds of about 1-3 KBps. You might notice that that is not gigabit. Cracked it open to find 23? (IIRC) bad capacitors. They were a pain to replace because of the type of solder, but I got'r'did, and the switch has been working flawlessly for 3 years now. Note they don't have to leaking to be bad. They can just be bulging. And it is possible for them to be bad with no visible signs. Seller was pretty cool, too. I told them it cost me $15 for the new caps, and they refunded me $15.

I love when a 20 minute, TWO bolt trackbar replacement job becomes a two day spanning, 6 bolt (one of which involved jacking up the vehicle to get to), angle grinder involving frustrating swearfest, all because of a little bit of rust. Right now I've got what's left of the ball joint in a C-clamp press soaking in the last remnants of a can of PB waiting to hear the pop. Not sure I want to put these back in...

KIS/KAS has C4 explosives that need to be triggered by an EVA kerbal, and they let you set fuse time and blast radius. Or do you need something remotely triggered?

Boot into a live Linux environment and play around for a few hours, see if you have any USB related problems. That should tell you if it's hardware, or Windows being stupid with USB drivers, which is likes to be. Also, install some temp monitoring programs and see if you're simply overheating. Do you blow the thing out regularly? How's the thermal paste?
-
Eesh... I missed the "sun" part. I'd say a GOAP Kerbin encounter would be insane.

If the pod is capable of re-entry, you can literally get out and push. EVA fuel is unlimited in the sense that you can keep getting in and out of the pod, and it will refuel. What's the mission here? Are you trying to upload photos, or sharing the save file?
