Turbotax once tried to steal $2,000 in "misc fees" from me when I made $12,000 in the year and had a kid. They burned their first and second chances with that one. Mine are done on paper and physically mailed in within a week of getting my W2s. I tried H & R Block once, and it kept rejecting it because it claimed my birthday was wrong. (July 6th). Turns out the IRS had entered it in that year as June 7th (apparently they hand enter the info every year?). In order to fix it, I had to go apply for a new SS card to trigger them to re-enter the information.

That's engineer levels. If courage and stupidity do anything, it's affect the facial expressions of the kerbals based on what the ship's doing. Nothing else.

...Whhhhaaaat? To the KIS thread! https://github.com/ihsoft/KIS/blob/master/User Guide.pdf Section 7!

IIRC you can move any part up to 1,000kg. Your part just won't fit in the kerbal's backpack. If you get the storage device it's in, and where you want to put it, you can move it from the storage device and weld it into place just fine. I can take a short video if you need.

Do you use probe components to de-orbit large booster stages?
Geonovast replied to Markus Reese's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yes and no. I try to, but don't always remember. I also have the TAC self destruct mod, which is kind of handy, but don't always remember that either. Lately I have been trying to spam sepratrons to push the spend stages retrograde enough for de-orbit. -
How to Balance/Land a Space Shuttle?
Geonovast replied to Mr. Peabody's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Nose forward, wheels first. I can't help with math or best practices, but here's mine in landing condition. Lands very nicely. Note the two drogue chutes on the bottom in the back. They're tied into the brakes, and help make sure the nose stays down during deceleration. (Not really a problem on the runway, I just end up putting them down in the grass once in awhile) -
And here I was anticipating "Reach Jool using only the ladder drive" challenge.

Yes, I know how to use th F12 menu too J/k. Very nice! Was it on purpose, or did you get lucky? I think the closest I've gotten was within 100m in a low Munar orbit, and that was only sorta accidentally on purpose.

performance laggy w/16g RAM
Geonovast replied to chexmix's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Adjustable-Stand-USB-6-Fan-Cooling-Cooler-Pad-for-12-17-Laptop-PC-Black/191533925558?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 My brand new laptop with an i5-7200U gets hot enough for the wifi to cut out while playing KSP, so I bought the above cooler. 6 freaking fans, and it's nice and quiet. Plus it doesn't actually take up a USB port, since there's two ports on the pad. There's also a really good chance that, with your laptop being 6 years old, the airflow path is being blocked from dust/hair. So make sure that gets blown out. Could also be a weak fan, or poor thermal paste. If you or someone you know if comfortable disassembling laptops, I would rip it apart, make sure you get anything blown out that might be blocking airflow, and replace the thermal paste. Replace the fan too if it's suspect. They're usually pretty cheap. As stated, a large amount of memory only really helps if you are running a ton of mods.- 2 replies

ASD Trinity delivered a small craft and fuel pod to Akron station. The station has two SKREP crafts on hand at all times for crew evacuation, but this new craft is meant to take small trips to the Mun (and possibly Minmus, it does have 4,000m/s of dV.) The shuttles and SKREP launches typically bring too much fuel to the station, so keeping the pod topped off shan't be a problem. Once Progress has departed, one of the resident engineers will be sent out to relocate the Jr. docking ports to the upper docking hub, and weld the fuel pod to the station, since it gets a little crowded on the lower one, especially with two shuttles docked.

Ok, it's from Airplane Plus, but for some reason it's not loading in 1.4.2. for me. Got, my bad. You get two sizes, but I generally don't use the smaller one as it has no internal attachment nodes.

I have an awesome Mk1 cargo bay, but I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure out which mod it's from... I use the thing all the time, it's one of my favorite parts.

My only regret in life, is that I have but one like to give.
-
I doubt it, since the kerbals don't ever actually do anything.

"In Space Low" altitudes?
Geonovast replied to boccelounge's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I think you misunderstood. You can set up KER so that it displays all the boundaries of whatever body you're orbiting. So the wiki link above would be good for planning, but KER can help for quick checks with your active vessel. -
"In Space Low" altitudes?
Geonovast replied to boccelounge's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It's also immediately available if you use KER. I have it always displayed. Top right under "Body". -
It's usually grouped in with the clearing history stuff.

Of course, this only works as long as you're on the page... and only for the post you did it to... and only you'll see it...

Seems to be working for me, but it was mentioned earlier that they were doing some updates. Maybe they're still working on them.

TUBM has gone the wrong way on an escalator.
-
Happened a couple weeks ago, wouldn't surprise me at all if it happened again. (Check the previous page). If it's back, should probably PM the link to one of the admins.

The CSS appears to have been misplaced! The forum is in plain text! Seems to still be usable though....

Really my only travel is about 3 hours away to visit my wife's sister, or 9 hours away to visit home. We don't even vacation, mainly because it's a waste of money I don't have. I'm also very introverted and tend to panic in large crowds, so most touristy areas are out for me anyway. Although I would kill to go see Endeavor in LA. Unfortunately that means going to LA. On the rare chance I'm in a strange city (usually for work), I camp out in the hotel every moment I'm not doing what I'm there to do.

So I built a sorta stunt plane really quick, just for laughs. But I actually really like how it handles. So I figured what the hell, and swapped out some fuel tanks, and the panther for a rapier to see how it does to orbit. Got to orbit just fine! Never coming home, though, since the wings exploded on the way up (and didn't affect ascent at all). Stable orbit with plenty of fuel to spare. Does it still count as an SSTO if the "discarded" parts were unintentional?
