Even if this happened, nothing would be destroyed, unless the asteroid or station were in focus. No collisions happen between objects when neither are focused, which is why a Kessler syndrome in KSP is not going to happen. I'd say what OP has is some kind of bug... an asteroid didn't just come by and take out the station when they weren't looking.

Power went out... again... and now I'm perusing NewEgg contemplating $450 in UPS equipment... And of course I was working on an Eve return vehicle (for a science container)
-
Not with $700. It's also not impossible to speed the videos back up to average a decent framerate. The mod in question doesn't do what Konstruction does. Konstruction welds two ships together, and turns them into one, while removing the docking ports. The welding mod merges parts, which lessens the physics calculations.

That's already a pretty decent machine, I don't think you'll really see much improvement. I'd just save the cash.

Where is my ship file for a saved game?
Geonovast replied to Klapaucius's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
My guess would be that the original craft file got overwritten. Like building something, launching it, getting back into the SPH/VAB, building another thing, and never saving the first under a new name. This would overwrite the auto-saved ship. I recently had the same predicament, hopefully this will help:- 1 reply

Core heat broken in 1.4.3?
Geonovast replied to sh1pman's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Not enough EC generation to run the TCS? All I can think of. -
Will this Run KSP?
Geonovast replied to KerbalKiller89's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
By itself? No. It's just a processor. I feel like I need to point out that this is not a whole computer. What's the rest of your build look like? If you're on a budget, I would recommend not getting one of the most expensive processors on the market. The cost of the rest of your hardware is going to reflect that CPU's price. You can get entire KSP capable computers for the price of that CPU, especially if you're not overly concerned with high graphics or framerate. -
One of mine comes by name. Literally the only thing he knows. Stupidest cat on the planet otherwise.

I never understood why people were stuck in 1.2.2 when 1.3 and 1.3.1 were right there. Probably because I never played 1.2.2 (or anything before 1.3) But now I get it. I even bought MH, and I'm really not that excited about 1.4.x. I'll probably switch next time I get the bug to wipe my computer and start over.

Who here does stuff with Raspberry Pi, and if so what do you do?
Geonovast replied to Will Fawkes's topic in The Lounge
I have 4 Pis. I have 4 3D printers. For awhile the Pis just controlled the printers, but since the USB port on one of the printers snapped off, its Pi is now running a PiHole DNS server. -
It's not about not updating. It's about the choice. And no, I'm not overly thrilled about my phone's update policy. One of the reasons I don't do squat with my phone.
-
I'm pretty sure we're saying the same thing. One of the reasons Windows 10 pushed me to get as far away from Windows as possible was the mandatory updates. Microsoft's "No is not an answer" attitude is completely unacceptable. Linux updates what I want, when I want, and that's all there is to it. No forced torrent updates.
-
Haha... hahaha... Oh, Windows.
-
I have no idea what's involved in that, but I've always had a feeling it was one of those jobs that is way harder than it looks.

Took me nearly an hour to get out of bed this morning because my back was like "Oh hey, screw you, buddy."
-
@KerikBalm How easily do they get back in though? I've had plenty of stuff that could get out just fine, but getting back in was downright impossible. I also avoid part clipping of non-strictly-structural parts, and consider part clipping of movable pieces (IE wheels spinning through other parts) to be completely unacceptable. Every one of your examples has wheels offset inside other pieces. Might be fine for you, but I would never do that. So my comment was from the point of view of my playstyle. I'll edit a "without clipping" addendum

It's not even true! Wind farms look awesome. I drive by several of them when I visit home. Know what is ugly? Smog. But if they can't see it...
-
Yes it should, since it's still turned on in my account settings...

You are just the best kind of person.

Can you take a short video of this behavior? -
Got Disillusioned but now I'm playing again, sort of.
Geonovast replied to NewtSoup's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Welcome back. I, too, cannot stand career mode. Enjoying a science save now. Document away! You're playing the game for you, not anyone else. If someone doesn't like the way you play and immerse into a one player game, tell them where they can go and keep doing what you do.
