Interesting. Unfortunately the hardware is still way, way too underpowered for KSP. Even if it wasn't, I don't think a port would ever be in the works, despite the interface being an advantage.
-
I've got a GTX-1050Ti, forgot to mention that.

There is, the landing gear is a bit buggy in 1.3.1. Just yesterday I had a lander with a pretty good stance and SAS off just up and tip over on Minmus while I was assembling a SEP base next to it. (pic when I get home) You can try to load the persistent save file. Hopefully it will have autosaved pretty recently and you won't have lost much.

Because 729 Mhz processor and 88 MB of RAM. Also it's a deprecated system. When was the last time a Wii game was released?

1.3.1 Too many mods
Geonovast replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I haven't personally seen it as most of my mods are part mods, but it did look familiar. -
First family computer ran Win 98... SE!. Oh yeah, I was the cool kid. We had it upgraded to 96 MB of RAM from the 64 it came with. 8 GB HD. Came with a monitor, and a printer. IIRC It was like $2500, and my parents were thrilled at the deal. I actually used to rub our 56K v92 modem in the face of one of those better-than-everyone twits at school. I used to have a computer that used one of these. Took up TWO 5.25" drive bays. 40 MB of storage.

Given the debacle that the Xbox One/PS4 ports have been, I wouldn't be too hopeful. Also it appears the switch has severely weaker hardware than the other two. KSP likes clock cycles, and according to this, the switch doesn't even have a full ghz. Your best bet would probably be to pick up a halfway decent refurbished PC from NewEgg or similar and forget the console version altogether. Welcome though!

Man, I loved me some Windows 3.11. Nothing like burning through 14 floppy discs for an install. A 16 bit 2D version of KSP for Win 3.11 would be awesome.

help getting orbit, a second time.

That's the crew cabin doing that to you. It's pushing the CoM too far back. I was able to re-enter with it staying pointing retrograde. This is probably because I kept the last stage attached until about 20km or so, burning at low throttle to slow my descent. -
But ditto on processor specifics. I *only* have an i5 (for now), but after a discussion I had with my brother earlier today about his Macbook from 2010, it would destroy every single spec of his i7 in that thing. You've got ranges on the RAM. Maybe re-do this thread? Generate a poll that has more processor options (remember, some people are still play KSP on a Core2Duo), an OS option, and maybe even specify between desktop and laptop. I think your RAM options are fine. Processor: i3 ( < 2ghz) i3 ( 2 - 3 ghz) i3 ( 3 + ghz) Repeat for i5 and i7. I guess you could throw the i9 in there, but honestly I'd be surprised if anyone here had one. They're rather new and very expensive. I dunno squat about AMD processors, other than that I've not had good luck with them, but it seems like you need more options there as well. More options for the GPU, similar to the CPU. Nivida (1-3GB) Nvidia (3-6GB) Nvidia (6+ GB) Rinse and repeat again for a few other options. Throw in a few Windows versions, a few Linux flavors, and Mac, and I think you'll be good. Then you can lock this one and spin up your new thread, if allowed.

I have a suggestion for this. Play sandbox for a little bit, where you have all the toys and no limits. Once you've built a couple successful rockets and learned how to balance things, go back to your career save and try this guy again. But before that: I just duplicated your rocket the best I could, and managed to get it to a 99km x 93 km orbit fine with almost 800 m/s of dV left. I did notice one thing that threw me off when I was staging - you don't appear to have the center engine (I believe it's a swivel and the boosters are reliants?) burning at launch. If you enable crossfeed on your decouplers (If you can), then the middle engine will burn, but will be using fuel from the boosters. You have a very high TWR on the pad. This means you can start your turn pretty much right away. Get the rocket turned about 10-15 degrees, then follow prograde. As long as you're facing prograde when you dump the boosters, you shouldn't have trouble with it flipping. Also, because you have such a high TWR, you can also ditch the reliants and put swivels on the boosters if you'd like. Would give you better control on your turn. I made this change and got to a similar orbit as before, no problem. I'd be happy to do a video of the launch. -
Tips on orbital rendezvous?? (SOLVED)
Geonovast replied to RealKerbal3x's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You do that a few more times, and you'll be into "How was this ever a problem?" territory. Good job! -
I'm not seeing it as an option.
-
SEP is definitely one of my most fvaoritested mods. Arch landing was 98% on accident.

Personally I would move the fins to the center tanks so you retain them after ditching the boosters. Should help with your stability in a gravity turn. Also chuck the struts between the command pod and the crew cabin. I know it looks like a weak connection, but you'll be fine. -
Help with Buran Style shuttle

Help with Buran Style shuttle
Geonovast replied to Jack5.exe's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
So I've been trying to re-create this little guy, and I got a few things: What's with all the part clipping? The control surfaces going through the fuselage is making me physically ill (maybe). Clipping the wings that far into the body isn't helping at all. It would affect your aerodynamics in read life, but as far as the game is concerned, those wings are outside. Pushing the wings inside is only limiting your cargo capacity. You need more weight in the front. The front of the shuttle is basically just a giant air bubble. You don't want your rear wheels that far back, otherwise the front is just going to slam down into the ground on touchdown. I'm not seeing any batteries or solar generation. The small battery in your probe core won't last long, and those MP engines don't have alternators. I suggest you focus on the shuttle itself first, how it'll get around in orbit and back down before you build the lifter. If you do the lifter first for what you have, then have to adjust the shuttle... you'll end up re-doing the lifter anyway. -
I could never get it to work either. It's one of those things that probably involved math, and that's just not how I roll(literally - shuttle rolls baffle me)
-
Uh... what? Nope. Let's start the next moderator round with @Dman979!

Can you add operating system to the poll?
-
Giving the previous version away for free would translate into zero sales. The game has not been free at all in any shape way or form. This game is already inexpensive as far as video games go. It's also on 40-50% off sale hilariously frequently. If this game interests you, at all, you will get your money's worth, even at full price.
-
It has been in my experience. Both Windows and Linux. I am seeing the massive increase in memory usage as well.
-
@XB-70A your love affair with fairings intrigues me. Is it for aerodynamic?, or aesthetics?
-
So this is a thing that happened. There was still quite a bit of fuel in the main tank (Also has a probe core and small reserve for de-orbit disposal). Could have easily gotten a much higher orbit before disconnecting the shuttles. Each shuttle has a small probe core for Kerballess operation, and enough supplies for 2 for 75 days (TAC). I actually launched with a dummy load in each shuttle, just forgot to grab a SS of it in orbit. Re-entry needs some tweaking, as I designed the shuttle around the tanks being about 1/3rd full. First landing attempt went poorly, so I just de-orbited the other two and will let them plummet down on their own.
