It looks interesting, I guess... but it seriously looks like one long cutscene with timed events. I mean, what do you actually do? I don't seen anything more involved than "This is broken, click on it to fix." Am I missing something?

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
Geonovast replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
An incident occurred last night with my sister-in-law dumping a... good amount of water right onto my laptop, which was on. It stayed on, which was good news, however it did completely lock up, which was not good. I guess my debacle with my keyboard paid off, since I knew exactly how to get it disassembled quickly. Completely disassembled all night and had the majority of it in front of a fan, I got it reassembled this morning. It didn't work at first, but I think that may be mostly because I freaked the BIOS out with disconnecting the battery. Seems all good now, although this morning I was having this weird problem where the CPU was boosting to max at idle and keeping the idle temps about 15 C hotter than normal. But now it's ok? I'm still a little worried. -
Poll: Will you keep playing KSP1 after KSP2 is released?
Geonovast replied to EchoLima's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Since we don't know what KSP2 will really be like, none of us can answer for sure. But, probably. I still play all three Borderlands games. There are certainly aspects to the first one that 2 and TPS don't have. Ditching a game just because there's a sequel is, well, dumb in my opinion. -
Complete PC freeze

Fixed that for you. -
Complete PC freeze

Awhile back, when my computer updated the Nvidia driver to 390.whatever, I suddenly had an issue where the computer would just up and shut off. Sometimes it would happen during boot, sometimes I could use it for an hour before it did it. I started to worry about a hardware problem (I was on all pretty new hardware), but rolling back to 387.whatever made the problem go away, and I never had a loss of power problem on that hardware again. -
Does the "3-bit" part in the description imply TLC? I mean, Triple is technically Multi..

Thanks guys. I've apprised him and he's opting for the Samsung since the price isn't terribly different, we just wanted to see if the Crucial was complete crap or if there was actually some benefit to it over the Samsung. The specs list MLC. Is Microcenter mistaken?

I'm going to be at Microcenter this weekend picking up an SSD for a co-worker's laptop. His machine is about 6 years old, and all its slowness points to the aging HDD in it. I'm still somewhat new to the SSD game, so I thought I'd get some advice. The primary goal here is a focus on longevity. This is a basic-use laptop and shouldn't see a lot of heavy writing to the drive, but the drive also needs to last as long as possible since he's not really a computer guy. Which of these drives would be better with that in mind? Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD 3-bit MLC V-NAND SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive Crucial MX500 500GB SSD 3D TLC NAND SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive I'd prefer to get him a 1TB drive for increased wear leveling, but this is the upper limit of his budget for this.

Design help needed.
Geonovast replied to catloverjerrygarcia's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
That is way, way too low. Leave them at 100 and see what happens. Even if you wanted a TWR that low, nerfing the swivels isn't the best option. What you would want to do is get rid of one of them, and stack the stages instead of sticking boosters on the side. This is with everything at 100. No crossfeed on the decouplers, and not firing the terrier until decoupling the boosters. By far not the most efficient launch, it could be much better, but it gets up there and to orbit with a ton of fuel to spare without and stability problems and no explody problems from going too fast. -

Well, something's doing something, because I just slapped another similar rocket together, and the pad TWR, with just the Swivels (No Terrier) is 2.34. Lowering TWR from 1.4 to 1.3 is not a good plan anyway. Your TWR can be too high, but that's gonna be way too slow for this thing. Because your TWR is so low, MechJeb is pitching over way too much too soon. What's your limiter set to on the Swivels? -

Is Mechjeb messing with your throttle limits? That thing should be launching like a bat out of hell. Don't fire the terrier at launch. Its atmospheric ISP and thrust are horrendous, and you're doing nothing but wasting fuel using it. I'll get you my own video in a few. -

Not a hard wish to make come true. Not that I recommend it, though. I've been hit by 120 a few times. Not fun. -

At this point I think a video would help. I flew the first design I posted just beautifully to orbit, no problems at all. -

Trying to merge one craft onto another. Merge.
Geonovast replied to THX1138's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The attachment point will only appear on the root part of the merged craft. There's no attachment point on the capsule because it's not the root part. Two ways to fix this. 1. Open up the ship you're trying to merge in by itself, and re-root it so the capsule is root. 2. Use the re-root tool on the faded out part in the screenshot to set the capsule as root. This is quicker, but won't edit the original craft, so if you do this multiple times, you'll need to keep doing it. The re-root tool is the one to the right of the rotate tool in the upper left. -

Ideally you want the fairing as slim as possible. Looks like you've got a good amount of extra width there. If that still doesn't work, try slimming the fairing down (should make it lighter too) Now, I have no experience with MJ, but would it still need SAS? The Stayputnik has no SAS ability. You might want to try with one of the other probe cores. The Stayputnik is really only good, at all, until you've unlocked something else.
