  1. Not the case here. I wasn't trying to unstuck anything, I was simply feeding it through the hole for it that's in the backplate that goes over the keyboard. I was applying a miniscule amount of force, it must have hit something just right and tore off instantly.
  2. @KerbolExplorer I once brought down a server and my client computer because I wrote: instead of Fun times.
  3. @KSPMom with very, very, very few exceptions (I can only think of one), if a mod is listed as working with 1.7.0, it will work with 1.7.1, 1.7.2, 1.7.3 and so on. If you see a mod you want that doesn't have the OP listed as working with the version you want, the first thing to do is check the last page or so of posts and see if anyone's reporting it working and/or not working. But you can also just try it. Worst case, you'll just need to remove the mod. I'm using at least one mod in 1.7.2 that was last reported working with 1.3, a few 1.5.x, and quite a but 1.6.x, but they all work fine. The only mod I know of that is super-version-specific is Kopernicus, and that's because it's version locked on purpose. If you're unsure, I would be happy to try that mod in a fresh 1.7.2 install and make sure it works for you.
  4. That mod appears to have a successor. Would he be interested in that?
  5. RIP Rip Torn. I think this is getting at me more than it usually would since last night I was getting a random, very strong urge to watch Down Periscope right about the time he was passing away. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-news/actor-rip-torn-dead-at-88-857264/
  6. What if I said there was bacon on it? I have a really hard time watching non-spoiled food go into the trash.
  7. You might need to turn on Advanced Tweakables in your game settings.
  8. This ain't gonna work if my boss doesn't stop giving me free pizza.
  9. I think what makes KSP special would be lost if spun off into any other genre. The world certainly doesn't need another space shooter, and there's no shortage of space RTS games or tycoon games. So, none, I guess. There's still plenty of room for KSP to grow, but I think it should stay put in its genre.
  10. You can't buy specific versions. I think the only way to possibly get 1.3 is to buy the game on Steam, then download 1.3 through the betas system in Steam. Just curious, why does he specifically want 1.3?
  11. It was a bad night. It was supposed to be a good night. My wife insisted that we switch to Sprint, since it was going to be a lot cheaper. We got our new phones, which I'm still getting used to, since it seems this stupid thing wants to set up some privacy invading feature automatically without asking every 5 minutes. Switching also took way longer than it should have. I also got the backlit keyboard I ordered for my laptop! Holy balls was this involved. I don't know whose idea it was to secure keyboards and structural plates into laptops with plastic rivets, but we need to have words. I had to remove literally every other part of the laptop to get to the keyboard. Remember when the stupid things were removable with a butter knife and no screws involved? Where it really skyrocketed downhill was installing the new keyboard. I managed to completely shear the ribbon cable for the lighting in half. The good news is that they keyboard still works otherwise, and I didn't kill the laptop. I'm posting from it. But I'm right back where I started, except maybe a little worse, since I appear to have dribbled a small amount of hot glue into the keyboard, and now the 'Y' and 'U' keys are a bit sticky. I ordered another one immediately, but I have my DC trip in a week and a half, dunno if it'll be here and I'll have time to try it again... A 3D printing pen would be really handy for re-doing those rivets instead of hot glue.
  12. This is common issue with Kopernicus, from what I hear. You may want to read through that thread.
  13. I'm on board. Last year I was on a pretty good exercise/diet program, lost 30 lbs in 4 months. Then I fell off. I've tried a few times to get back on it... since I'd gained all that weight back. I even brought my exercise bike to work thinking I would use it more if it was there... that backfired. I honestly think the hardest thing about getting in shape is when you're trying to do it alone.
  14. I believe it's because you have a bunch of ships inside your physics bubble. AFAIK, KSP can only use multiple threads by applying additional ships in your physics bubble to different threads. You have at least 5 ships in the screenshot, and your CPU only has 4 threads available. There's some sharing going on there, and that could contribute to the problem. Does it get any better if you get down to 4 ships in the area?
  15. Do you specifically want to control them, or is it just to recover them for funds?
  16. GTA 5 has a pretty good rating for Proton, so I grabbed it since it was on Steam's summer sale. The only tweaks that appeared to be required were for multiplayer, which I couldn't care less about. Many reports that it "just works out of the box." Well, it doesn't for me. I lost a good three hours last night trying every fix Google and I could find, and nothing. I can't get the game to start. I was in the mood for random murderous mayhem, and I'm a little burned out on SR4 right now.
  17. I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee and an 88 Jeep Comanche. They're not in the best of shape. I'm really hoping next year I'll be able to junk the cherokee, use what parts I can on it to convert the Comanche to four wheel drive, and buy a new-ish Corolla. I've put at least 10,000 miles on rental Corollas, and I absolutely love that car.
  18. That what you want? Otherwise the Making History has one for the Jr docking port that can actually support a kerbal while extended.
  19. Geonovast

    Apollo 11

Watched it yesterday. Better than First Man.
  20. VM might do it. Virtualbox lets you set the number of processors for the VM, with an execution cap as a percentage. I have a 7700K, which is a hyperthreaded quad core. I have a testing VM set up already that only uses one of the logical cores. I could probably dumb that down to like... 20-30% and give it a try. It also keeps tossing in-game fatal errors and forcing itself to close. I'm not blaming the hardware incompatibility, the fact that I'm running Linux or even Wine... I remember quite distinctly having that issue back in the day running it on the Pentium 2/Windows 98 platform it was meant for. Simcopter was not a well made game. But I loved it, it was probably the first sandbox style game I ever played... plus you could use your own cities built in Sim City 2000! (also could be done in Streets Of Sim City... another great one from my childhood.)
  21. I use MakingLessHistory, so I get the MH parts without the extra launchsites. Actual settings: Disable extra ground stations Enable plasma blackout Require signal for control Kerbals level up immediately Kerbals do not respawn Resource transfer obeys crossfeed rules. Contract decline penalty is set to 0. I shouldn't be punished for not wanting to do stupid contracts without letting them expire. Personal restrictions I only revert when a problem is the game's fault ALL crewed launches will have a tested launch escape system. If I'm launching a space station or some kind of fancy lander, it will go up automated, and then a crew capsule will take the crew up and dock with it. I must use a life support mod. Rescue contracts must be accepted immediately and are prioritized. This initially got out of hand, but I was able to make some settings to the contracts.cfg file so I can only have one at a time. That all said, up until recently I didn't really touch career. I think I've finally got the right mods and settings, so that I'm actually enjoying it. I haven't left LKO yet, and I seriously doubt I will push kerbals out past Duna/Eve. I'm not a fan of managing multiple long term missions.
  22. This is basically SmartParts in stock. Which I would be 100% ok with.
