This isn't adding anything worthwhile to the conversation. @Great Liao is right. "This isn't adding anything worthwhile to the conversation" Then perhaps explain how I'm wrong, instead of siding with (in a manner that does not add to the convo and merely serves as a verbal like) someone who has trouble speaking without sprinkling insults in Fiddledidee, guess Squad isn't perfect after all

That sounds good to me. Key word, to me. An obvious flaw of the "best of both worlds" compromise (barring optional difficulties) is that you'll get extreme pro players complaining that the feature is too light, and if you then nudge the compromise in their favour, you'll get newer players who don't feel as invited to improve their ability to play. This is a convo that has happened a million times before, so I'll just advise you that this is a road that's been walked down before and that the devs themselves have likely had hundreds of conversations about this very balance.

Take Two's not dying though? Its fate certainly doesn't rest on KSP 1/2 if anything. But it's not clickbait. period. Yes it is. exclamation mark. The community is crap though and that's not hyperbole, if that's any good at catching attention.

...which is a corporation and not your mate from down the street who'll politely oblige to any polite request. This is how clickbait started. Please don't.

I'd say the corrosive and pessimistic community nowadays is more incentive than anything to leave, but whatever floats your boat

"Well, if you consider the heating effects from the indev screenshots to be part of the game, which they are, then of course they started." FTFY.
-
You're literally wrong. It's one thing to complain all the time, it's another to literally dismiss what the devs are posted for the sake of framing KSP 2's state as worse than it actually is.
-
Or people just want to share their gameplay without KSP 2 Doomers arriving to spoil the vibes

You promised us communication, where is it?
Bej Kerman replied to RayneCloud's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Indeed. I say cognitive bias. People are living through KSP 2's history and are forced to live through the waits, but they can only remember KSP 1's history and thus selectively remember the exciting times (which were not common IMO - KSP 1's history past 0.90 lacks substance). -
Wrong. I'm not a born-again KSP2 enthusiast. I'm just trying to be more civil about how I feel about the game. Trying to get my point across while not being a complete PITA about it. I still don't like the game, I still don't like the cadence, I still think we got jobbed, and I still think that the company needs to do something quickly before the IP dies. I'm just trying to be less d-baggy about it. I can get my point across being civil, which is what I hope I'm doing. You've nailed the problem this game's community has had since KSP 2 dropped. The cynicism wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't shoved in everyone's faces. Pretty much every thread contains some variant of someone liquiding on someone else's bonfire cause they're unhappy with the game, and I see sweet FA being done about it.
-
Nope. Coined it myself, since I don't know how else to call it. The point is...? Why say "we still didn't get partially procedural parts" as if the devs promised such, if you don't think the devs ever promised such?
-
So you just remember someone saying partially procedural.
-
No. In discrete steps. Check structural tube from KSP 1. You have an option to set it's length from 1 to 6. Something like that. Would you care to quote whoever said we'd get "partially procedural parts" and explain why it must be how you interpreted it?

Sort of like the wings?
-
Practically untrue.

To a computer, there is no fundamental difference between a vessel collision calculation and a calculation in an otherwise fine situation that's gone awry. A Kraken attack is simply impossible to detect - the game just sees the vessel doing a thing.
-
Altering/repairing existing vessels.
Bej Kerman replied to mattihase's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
Presumably the same thing that happens when the VAB collapses with you still working inside it. To be specific, the building where time pauses while you're inside it. -
Altering/repairing existing vessels.
Bej Kerman replied to mattihase's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
Keeping the vessel simulated during construction was a less-than-ideal move on Squad's part, and it also probably made development a million times more difficult than it needed to be to have physics running during construction, not to mention being inconvenient for the players who aren't entertained by hours of work blowing up for reasons beyond their control. If KSP 2's devs are taking notes from Squad, the vessel will not fully load for as long as it's being edited. -

Yes. -

If said community treats anything less than inviting everyone to live in the development studio as a disservice... -
You promised us communication, where is it?
Bej Kerman replied to RayneCloud's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Accusing me of ignoring it is a bit of a low blow there. I'm not happy with what I've seen. How can you not be happy with them engaging directly with players? -
You promised us communication, where is it?
Bej Kerman replied to RayneCloud's topic in KSP2 Discussion
There's no use in communication if they only say the sugarcoating you want to hear and not how complex development actually is. The type of communication you're comparing KSP 2 to is vapid and doesn't give you a good look at what happens behind the scenes.
