  1. Yep. Kerbalese is backwards Spanish, so I decided to spell that backwards. And we are now on a second page! Took a while
  2. I have updated to 1.5! It's awesome! I have already had a play around with it, but this report is in 1.4.5 still because I hadn't actually realised that the update was out. Anyway, now I must write the last part of the Saga of the Space Station Eillorf Kerman! The Saga of Emiko Station by @Just Jim? Who's that? I don't know what you're talking about. I've also decided to add some humorous dialogue between my Kerbals, just to spice things up a bit. Anyway, for your viewing (reading?) pleasure, this report contains 2 wholesome rocket launches for you to enjoy. Part of your daily KSP intake.
  3. You could probably find a Kerbal texture pack with suits/dresses easily enough, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to get rid of the helmet collar.
  4. I had a lot of fun playing around in 1.5. I only had the time to check out the parts in the VAB and take a look at the new spacesuits -- they're awesome! I'll have to have a look at the manoeuvre nodes tomorrow. By the way, I love the new animations on the 'Mun or Bust' menu screen. The little kerbal runs his hands over his sleeve like he's saying 'noice suit'
  5. Yep. One less mod for @linuxgurugamer to maintain I'm launching 1.5 now, apparently AVC really doesn't like me updating. Pretty much every mod I have said something like 'Please use 1.4.1'. I'm sure they'll be fine though.
  6. Interesting. Well, we needn't worry. The update is here and I can't wait to play with the shiny new textures!
  7. In both RL and KSP, the planet rotates. The Earth rotates at over 1000 mph, and this gives spacecraft heading to equatorial orbit a boost, hence heading east. If you try getting into orbit by going west, you're fighting the Earth's rotation and this means you need slightly more delta-V to achieve orbit.
  8. Ahh, timezones And of course, Imgur is being a potato and preventing me from uploading images. The report will come tomorrow, I guess.
  9. I plan to post a new report tonight -- I've already pretty much finished the station. The solar panels are mounted around a KIS storage module -- it looks a bit like the Apollo Telescope Mount on Skylab.
  10. Another issue is controlling the game. There are a ton of keys on a keyboard, which is good for a game like KSP which has a lot of keybindings. You couldn't fit every control on a touchscreen, so players would probably need a controller. However, as shown on the KSP console edition, controllers don't really have enough buttons anyway. The only possible platform KSP could be ported to is probably tablets, and even then it'd have to be dumbed down to a mobile VAB or manoeuvre node editor.
  11. Two new chapters! Jet engines on Kerbmun! Planetary probes! Asteroids! Noice.
  12. @kapteenipirk This is amazing. KSP’s a game about building rockets, but people build chessboards, cars, submarines, statues and even trains. Well done.
  13. @IgorZ is making a new version of KAS (KAS 1.0) You could use that, but it has completely different (and more realistic) physics. Also, all the parts from old KAS are being deprecated, so you’d have to retire all of your ships using the old KAS parts before you upgraded to the new version.
  14. Depends what you want. If you want realism, try RSS (if you want to go super-realistic then you could even try RO). If you want to add to the stock system, the Outer Planets mod is awesome. If you want a whole new system, maybe try Galileo's Planet Pack. Alternatively, the unique Before Kerbin and After Kerbin depict the Kerbol System 2 billion years in the past and 2 billion years in the future, respectively. They're all brilliant, so it's really up to you which one you like the most. Though if you're going to go for one that replaces the stock system, make a new KSP install first! Otherwise the planet pack will most likely corrupt your saves and delete all of your progress. Kopernicus is a dependency for planet packs too, so make sure you have that installed. Happy planet-ing!
  15. Hey, more Whirligig! And KIS/KAS appears to be quite buggy. Maybe you should query those problems on their threads.
  16. I don't think SciFiVE is on CKAN anyway. But to install it manually, install EVE first, then replace the EVE configs with the SciFi ones. The last time I installed that mod was several months ago, so I don't really remember properly.
  17. I have not tested it with payload yet.... you’re right, I may have to make some changes in order to carry heavy payloads. Another problem is that the TWR is pretty low early on, so MOAR boosters may be in order.
  18. @michal.don I finally decided to enter this challenge, but made the decision not to use a Cormorant shuttle, instead making a fully stock one, the 'Shuttel' (the name came from me trying to type Shuttle too fast ). The craft is fully recoverable, but I screwed up the ET landing, so I lost the heat shield and probe core. Lucky that parachutes work even when you have no control! BTW, the LV-909 engines look different because I have Missing History installed, but they are the same apart from the texture. I added the screenshots I took to an imgur album to avoid clogging up the thread. The de-orbit, re-entry and landing were pretty difficult, as this is only the second time I've flown this shuttle. I had a hard time timing my de-orbit -- thank the Kraken for quicksave/load -- and the damn thing kept getting into uncontrollable spins. In the end we were going too slow to reach the runway, even with a short burst of dismal Terrier sea-level thrust (I actually had a hard time reaching the land at all -- the Shuttel kept splashing down a scant 10m from the shore), so I made a landing on the grass just in front of it. I'm going to have to optimise the design for later missions. I'll probably upload a craft file when I do that.
  19. @Caelib It was mentioned, in last week’s KSP Weekly. That was the last weekly, and from now on there will be a more intermittent, but more in-depth devblog called KSP Loading.
