  1. Both Starship and Raptor are in a comparatively early stage of development at the moment. There are going to be issues, and as you said it's a testing program and the purpose of a testing program is to find issues and fix them. I'm sure Merlin had just as many teething issues during its development, and look at it now - one of the most reliable rocket motors in the world. And it's an engine designed for a groundbreaking superheavy lift fully reusable rocket intended to make humans a multiplanetary species. I'm sure during its development they made every effort to reduce complexity, but it's always going to be complicated.
  2. Good thing about the stainless steel construction is that they'll be able to cannibalise literally everything. Old ships could be cut up and the material used to construct and repair buildings and vehicles. Raptors could be removed and used as spares, as I already said. There would be plenty of intact heat tiles, and they might even be able to use the tank sections as propellant storage.
  3. It's always 'aspirational', but regardless of whether that goal is technically achievable or not, the ambition of it is a big part of what keeps SpaceX moving so fast. I doubt they'll bring entire spare engines along, many of the first Starships to land on Mars will probably stay there so they can just cannibalise components from them.
  4. I found this on the LabPadre discord server. Looks like SN10 has some thermal tiles on one of its flaps!
  5. Your images aren't working for me, maybe you should upload them to imgur or something? It seems like you're trying to just upload them directly from your computer, which doesn't work.
  6. Yeah, it was just a pair of blurry dots most of the flight. Why don't they have any onboard cameras?
  7. I would say KSP represents 1960s-21st century tech as well, as we have analogues in stock parts for vehicles such as the Space Shuttle, SLS, and Ariane 5/6. But yes, early career does seem to emulate the late 1950s/early 1960s.
  8. @Ujjiban Bhattacharjee Go into your savegame's difficulty settings and turn on 'Show Other Launch Sites' (or something like that). It might be in the advanced tab.
  9. Right click on the command pod and change the control point to 'docking' during the bellyflop, it should allow you full flap control.
  10. @ShuttlePilot Maybe try turning the terrain detail/terrain shader settings down? It may just be that your graphics card is not up to the task.
  11. It's up to you, but it'd probably make more sense to keep them in this thread and update the title every time you post a new one. (You can edit the thread title by either editing the original post or just clicking on the title).
  12. 2 static fires in one day! And that's a wrap, detank venting.
  13. We can't reproduce your issue unless we have your mod list. Maybe try it without mods and see if the issue persists, then you'll know whether it's a stock or mod bug.
  14. Interesting! They're going for a second firing it seems!
  15. It just fired out of nowhere. No siren or anything. Cool GIF someone made:
