Guys, don't insist, "IG" still has the property rights of Kerbal, if you want and if it suits you, they mobilize the lawyers and start actions to prevent their trademark from being used and make all forums, streaming channels and whatever wants to use their brand close by applying severe economic fines. Everything else is an illusion.
-
He is warning that after having participated in the destruction of the Kerbal franchise, at the same time as having sunk his profession, he is now going to dedicate himself to being an Uber driver, trucks in the Canadian oil industry, or failing that, going out to fish for Spider crab in Alaska. Of course, he does not take responsibility (as if he had ever gone to the office) and says that Nate Simpson is a cool guy (at least he seemed that way in video conferences, no idea if he bathed or wore perfume)
-
Question: When you give thanks for all the fish, are you referring to the song that dolphins gave for years and no one heard or understood or did not want to relate it to the end of the world?

Please do not intervene the T2 Legal Department and prohibit the use of your seal. -

I think everyone is wrong. When T2 needs a forum, it will reuse the IP and physical space of the Kerbal. And be thankful that it has not yet acted as it should by law, since they are the owners of the KERBAL seal and can ask for royalties for the accounts opened on PATREON or Youtube for brand use. Faced with this reality, they should give thanks to IG's effort to squander the franchise and allow it to soon become a real headache for many in the face of the demands of lawyers. -

Things that happen when they give you $10 million and two years and you end up "burning" $60 million in seven years without delivering something viable and they went around applauding instead of crucifying the IG people. T2 had too much patience with all the failures. -
2021 : It was said that this smelled like a scam. And the moderators came out to defend the business tooth and nail, suspending and silencing those of us who realized what was happening. Now, three years later, are they all looking at how to recover the $50 they gave up after refusing to see where it ended? In 2023 they knew that everything was over and sold something to recover part of the investment, knowing that the "believers" and moderators would defend them by allowing them to recover part of the investment. I don't want to imagine if they had surpassed the line of 100000 buyers they had in mind on the first day, what they would still be selling! A DLC without having corrected the previous problems and with Colonies? Why solve the issue of multiple cores that a current computer has if fans continue to buy the product as is? Worst of all, the people who participated in the disaster since 2019 will find a way to make money again at the expense of the fans of some new and mediocre product.

Bah, check out the record of the Boeing guy who made disasters with the 737 MAX and still keeps billing no matter what he did. Or the people of the Titan Submarine who continue to do their thing... Not to mention those who have lined their pockets supporting the SLS and Starliner. Here, as far as is known, it did not cost anyone their life, simply, from a corporate point of view, it was a bad investment, no one can assure that it was an operation worthy of Bernard Maddof. As long as there are people who buy "Early Access", they will continue to exist...

Does Update v0.2.2.0 Indicate Anything about KSP 2's Future?

The real world is so hard... CIRCUS! So that no one tells me that everything is over and asks me for refunds. -

Are you from LATAM? You would have to have the contracts with the suppliers and read the fine print. As long as it appears that you are still working, you will not have to respond if you are required to return for cancellation. I would not be surprised to see quarterly "updates" so as not to be forced to return money and maintain expectations to see if someone deranged appears who wants to put millions of dollars in order to make it disappear in the accounting books. In LATAM it is used to these procedures. It is called a "financial bicycle". -

Simply denial. So they say that "we are still working" and "WE ARE NOT GOING TO REFUND THE MONEY!" -
2017: -"Here you have $10M and two years to develop KSP2, which should be an upgrade of KSP1" -"Cool! - I will also add Stellar Intel, Colonies and Multiplayer!" -"Good, in two years and with $10M, you got it, didn't you?" -"No problem!"

Release KSP2 Release Notes - Update v0.2.2.0
dprostock replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
The problem is that whoever acquires it could only go to market with a viable product in two years, and that is as long as it carries out a policy of shock in development with high investment. What will the video game market be like in two years? Would a working KSP2 give $100M to compensate for the initial investment? When you crunch the numbers, it looks like they set the franchise on fire. -

We will have to wait until July to see if anyone talks. I was seeing on Reddit that it was said that developers were hired who were paid for months without having defined tasks. -
Instead of Elon Musk (horrible idea) How about Dean Hall?

Does Update v0.2.2.0 Indicate Anything about KSP 2's Future?
dprostock replied to Aviator01's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Not necessarily. Do you know the Enigma encoder machine from Germany used during WWII? Someone coded it in VB6, creating the machine application where you pressed buttons. At the same time, he released the source code. Various applications could be developed by reusing the code already written on the rotors and pegboard. An interesting application is that you typed the message, pressed a button, it was encoded with the Enigma and it was passed to Morse effortlessly. And vice versa. That is why I do not think we have to start from scratch, but we have to access what has already been written and talk to those who participated. Documentation is very important, whether written or transmitted verbally. -

Ouch............................. That makes it serious when it comes to finding a buyer. The potential investor should pay the bills, allocate resources for two years (at least) to achieve a viable commercial product, and with the con that it has already been acquired by 500,000 users of doubt that they will be willing (or maybe not) to pay again for the same thing with corrections. Another $50M in total? And what would be the return? What will the market be like in two years? -
Money. How much are we talking about? How much would T2 order to cover costs? And to that must be added the cost of further development. What will the market be like in two years? ( at least )

Instead of Elon Musk (horrible idea) How about Dean Hall?
dprostock replied to RayneCloud's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Errr... It seems to me that it is simpler than that, it is a matter of millionaire's mentality. He did so simply to block the daughter who had turned against him and participated in groups operating in Tw. That, and that also served as a platform to act against the FAA. If the public turns against them, congressmen in need of votes withdraw support or pick up the phone. Freedom of expression was totally secondary, I would almost say collateral. -

Would the money from "Early Access" be enough to cover the mountain of debt that the fiasco represented? Has there been anything left over to continue making patches for free without any remuneration? How much longer will T2 financially sustain the franchise without any remuneration? Will the related sites be paid until mid-year or until the end of the 2024 tax period? -
Structurally, everything is solvable. The issue is to get capable and professional people, enough money and a reasonable work deadline that does not jeopardize the expectations of the consumer. Today a solution could be proposed on the structure of the KSP1, with bug solving equipment, integration with updated hardware in reference to a substantial improvement in performance, firstly, and then, work on the premise of graphical improvement with the use of mid-range PCs. Only with the aim of offering "Interstellar" (forget multiplayer) and all in the process of shockforce in less than two years. The question is where the money would come from if there are still unpaid bills from the disaster that was left by KPS2.

Does anyone else feel as if they saw this coming?
dprostock replied to Kernel Kraken's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Errr... It was already in the hands of someone who loved the game, so it went. He continuously squandered resources, stuck his nose in everything he could, managed stupidly and managed to finish off a great project. He should have been kicked in the teeth in 2020. -
Everything is money, time is money, family is money, a hobby represents money. If it is quantifiable, it is money.
-
Has anyone already invested money on the premise of a successful KSP2? Perhaps that is the greatest disappointment of all, taking care of the losses. Didn't get insurance? That would explain the nerves of many of the "fans" I read around here...
