  1. i could care less about the console version. Why, after alllllllllll the trouble porting to console in KSP1, would they even, for a split second, consider KSP2 on console? Money! thats the only reason. It means nothing but trouble down the line. Ive said it before and ill say it again DONT DO IT!!!!!!!! "mission control" If its web-based then anyone can simply goto player 4 web address (permissions) and all can see the same map and tracking and telemetry If its web based you could have the map on a cell phone or tablet. All im saying is for people with one screen the map will look the same but if you have more than one screen give us the abilty to "pop-out" (undock/resize) the map and drag it to another screen.
  2. exactly right. This is why back in 2012/2013/2014 when squad said they would add multiplayer later in KSP1 i called BS as soon as i read it.

If you dont want a undocked map view then dont use the damm thing. :shrug: If you worried about a couple more lines of code to undock a window your computer prolly wont run the game anyways. Oh Hey Mr Dev guys. Yeah ummmm AlamoVampire cant run the game on his 10 year old computer. Would you guys mind dumbing down the game and leaving out some features because some of us, for whatever reason, choose to run your new state-of-the-art game on a dinosaur computer? Thanks bottom line is this. It will have multiplayer. If you dont want it then dont use it. If it has multimonitor support if you dont want it then dont use it. Why would you sit here and type out, in front of god and everybody, reasons to not add features to the game? Features mind you that you dont have to use BTW. Why would you advocate for that? If you cant use it then nobody should be able to use it? If its all about efficiency well then lets just get the devs to make atari's "pong". I have since 2011 never understood your way or others that advocate for same thing, reasons to dumb down the game. They did that with KSP1 multiplayer and here you guys are trying to do it with KSP2. I got news for you guys. Nate Simpson comes off (to me anyways) as a guy that will push the coding envelope. I have a feeling he will cram as much believable, realistic stuff into KSP2 as he can possibly do so i guess you guys will be the first ones crying in the support threads "KSP2 keeps crashing!" Right? Or on steam giving the bad reviews. Get with the times man!
  4. I hope the KSP2 devs allows pc players to undock the map view and have it on a separate monitor or even have a web-based map view in a web browser.

  7. what does COVID have to do with coding and testing? You guys cant code from home? You code, commit changes to repository, download and test. You can do this from home. You can teleconference any meetings. Yeah im not buying this excuse at all. There is absolutely no reason they cant develop this game from anywhere in the world with the devs in separate locations. Please dont treat us like kids like squad did. Just tell us the truth! Come on man whats the REAL reason? I bet I know!
  8. will look at multiplayer, test the positioning system mainly ground and jitter, look at timewarp subspace system then onto the modding aspect and somewhere in there i will be buying 2 extra copies of the game for @godarklight and @dagger. (yes i said that in public and yes i mean it)

  11. This is pretty much a useless thread. We dont even know what the game is going to be like yet.
  12. Improved detailed landscapes servers we can host ourselves explorable interactive IVA (traverse through the ship,airlocks,etc)
  13. How would you like to see Harvester remembered in this game? A Planet named after him? A kerbal? what?
  14. They did say its a complete rewrite of the code (thank god) so the code/api from KSP1 prolly wont work because the variables and methods,functions in the code will all be different. Im guessing most stock assets (not the code just the meshes and textures) will probably be carried over from KSP 1 if you look at the video. Just a guess

Im watching the SpaceX starship being built and its the same thing.....A metal <something> was attached and raised up and attached to <some part> of the rocket Most of the work is going on inside of the ship out of view.   16. Lol i think multiplayer is a great idea been wanting it for years. For those who dont like the idea of multiplayer 2 things: 1: to bad 2: dont play multiplayer play single player. pretty simple huh? (You have absolutely no argument now ) Me and my friends are going to enjoy every single minute of multiplayer. You know its funny when i was asking about multiplayer in KSP1 I got all these reply's like "I should just deal with it" that KSP will NEVER have multiplayer. (Alot of the same people back then are commenting in this very thread!) Well guess what? Shoe is on the other foot now....YOU should prolly "Just deal with it!" because its coming baby! Whooo Hoooo!
  17. Voxel terrain in a limited way. Possibly a drill head/bit part for under ice exploration to go with user constructed water craft. (think ice world with ocean underneath (Europa)) on the PQS. Also enhanced IVA. (Move through interior of ship/station/craft)
  18. no no its cool i like your opinion. I do find it puzzling a little. let me explain. Over the years on this forum i was a BIG advocate for multiplayer (ksp1) I was frankly shocked by how many people were opposed to multiplayer in KSP. For various reasons mind you. Some were performance concerns some were realisim breaking concerns and some were just "leave the game alone" concerns some were "multiplayer isnt possible in KSP". My argument was "Just because it has multiplayer does not mean you have to use it just play single player." All of them were proven wrong with the luna multiplayer mod. But here we are with KSP2 now with multiplayer being developed in parallel with the game and I have not heard one negative feedback about it. I find it puzzling. Now move forward and here i am throwing out an idea about Voxel terrain. You are the second one that is opposed to it. And I understand where you are coming from. But now i find myself going back to those multiplayer discussions back in the day and thinking hummmm What if? But thanks for you honest comments. Good conversation. Thanks

Just seems like a waste for all those underwater craft/parts to not do it. Besides isnt it the PQS system that has to render everything anyways and its already in the game. What difference would it make to render surface "A" or the now changed surface "B"? Up close at terrain level may lead to some load at the time of editing but at a distance should decrease load because PQS is decreasing?
