How many Kerbals does the cockpit hold? -
Just read this whole thing! This is amazing! At the beginning I thought it would just be a standard mission report thread but then it turned into way more! I'm also reading Emiko Station and thought the references were funny!

LOL If you want to stay on the surface you should add a claw to the bottom of the lander. Also is the view as cool as you thought it would be? Can you see the comet trail from the KSC?

What Kind of Mod Install Do You Have?
Kerminator K-100 replied to DunaManiac's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I have 36 mods total, including dependencies: ABCORS - This one is a lifesaver and probably my favorite mod ever next to KER, when you hover your mouse over the orbit it tells you the altitude and velocity Better Time Warp DMagic Orbital Science Easy Vessel Switch EVE Raster Prop Monitor Kerbal Alarm Clock KER KIS MarkIV MechJeb2 Near Future Tech - all 7 of them Planetary Base Inc ScanSat Scatterer Spectra - Probably the coolest visual mod out there, it is less RAM intensive but looks super cool Station Parts Expansion Redux Tarsier Space Tech Texture Replacer Who am I Mod dependencies: I really like part mods and download plugins all the time, but then delete them soon after These are the ones that survive the purges. Once I finish my Science mode play through and start a Career save, this list is going to be about 100 mods long because of contract mods. -
Exploring the Kosmos - NOT LONGER MAINTAINED
Kerminator K-100 replied to Kerminator K-100's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Day 28 - 35 - Artemis Returns With the Jool mission temporarily delayed for repairs to the spacecraft, the Minmus mission went ahead with the landing. The target was a large flat plateau that was marked for future bases. The lander touched down a few kilometres away from the proposed site and exploration commenced. Bill had forgotten the KASA flag and planted the US flag instead. Once everyone was back the kerbals rocketed away for Kerbin. However the Jool mission was being delayed once again, to the anger of Valentina. -

The blue marble as Val, Burbo and Lenke leave to Explore the Kosmos -
I'm really liking these patches! They look super cool and are really well detailed! How do you make them? They almost look hand drawn. Also I like the shuttle design, I am trying to build my own but they usually flip over at launch. EDIT: How do you do the problems that some missions have? Things like this: or Is it just something you add or is it a random problem generator or something?

Exploring the Kosmos - NOT LONGER MAINTAINED
Kerminator K-100 replied to Kerminator K-100's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Day 28 - Artemis 2 The sun rose that morning over the KSC latest mission: The Artemis 2. The mission goals were to replant KASA's (A new agency that had bought out the KSC, the letters stood for Kerbal Aeronautics and Space Agency) flag on Minmus. The rocket shot off into the black sky, with Jeb, Bill and Bob riding on the top. They were told that they were going to miss the historic Jool mission but they were at least getting to land somewhere. The fairing deployed and the ships manuevered around each other. As the ship flew past Kerbin, they saw the KSC and the Island runway. "Hey Megwig, I can see mission control from here!" - Bill A few days later the craft slipped into Minmus orbit, where the crew would wait for the Jool Mission to leave before landing. -
A month ago I made a map of Kerbin. At first it was just a map but as I began deciding to write stories about KSP, I decided I needed more stuff. So I began writing a history and developing the Kerbal society. You can use this history in your own works but I do ask that you credit me if you do. Here is the map - (Also a work in progress) I am open to suggestions and help as it will make this map even better. A massive thank you to @Pds314 for these amazing color maps (all the maps are located here): TABLE OF CONTENTS: (Will add links as pages are created) Maps Pre-History (10,000 BSP -5,000 BSP)* Rise of the Kingdom of Acnalb-Ayalp The Age of Revolutions Rise and Fall of the United Kerbal Republic The Great Anatom war The Rise of the KKF The History of Spaceflight Timeline The countries (Detailed info about each country): Aisur Alusninep Anatom Harvester-Massif Kerbal Island Republic (KIR) Kerbal Kommunist Federation (KKF) Kingdom of Acnalb-Ayalp Kraken's Claw Nis Erbmon Nopaj North Anatom Odalegnoc-Arriet Ogal Retarc United Kerbal Republic West Kolfus Woomera Currently used in: The original map that I used came from: @Pds314's map, located here: Or the map can be downloaded here: *BSP = Before Space Flight

Exploring the Kosmos - NOT LONGER MAINTAINED
Kerminator K-100 replied to Kerminator K-100's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Now that the Noicatse station had been launched a crew was needed. The mission was planned for two months and is planned to see the launch of a fuel arm and a science arm. The brave kerbonauts picked were Kerbrett Kerman - Pilot and captain, Enster Kerman - Scientist, and finally Derbrett Kerman - Engineer. The crew had brand new craft to launch them to the station: The lightweight OLS and the CTC (Crew Transport Capsule). The rocket shot off the pad, to Enster's excitement, however Derbrett was regreting setting foot on this rocket. Staging was slightly worrying, though fortunately all that blew up was an engine plate. The official stance of the KSC is that it was to give the rocket an extra boost. The fairing came off on schedule, revealing to Derbrett that there had not been an abort system. He now is refusing to ever leave the station. "For all I know the idiots in the VAB forgot a heat shield!" - Derbrett Enster was still pretty happy about everything. The CTC in all its glory: While rendezvousing with the station the crew noticed something using the distant object enhancement equipment: The Station and Minmus. Now that they were nearing the station, Derbrett seemed a little happier. Because Kerbrett had picked this time to nap, the Mech Jeb computer unit was switched on for the approach. Unfortunatly for Kerbrett though she had to wake up for the docking, Mech Jeb giving the KSC difficulties. Having docked the crew settled in to their new home. Kerbrett seems to be in awe of the control room. Meanwhile Enster and Derbrett settled in for a nap and snack. -
It can take off horizontally, its just very difficult to do. As for landing, I didn't get a chance to try (it either exploded or went into a solar orbit) but I did add landing gear to the bottom and it has canards and fins and could probably glide. If you want me to make it better at landing I could try adding drogue chutes. EDIT: Here is a picture of it on the ground, the final design was exactly the same except it was raised up for an easier launch (taking off is not my best skill):

This looks awesome! I've just started reading the story thread so I'll have to bookmark this for later so I don't find out any spoilers

Hint from a government leak: -
New Entry: Controllable (The last one wasn't) Has landing gear Much faster On the runway: (The final version ended up being much higher than this but the launch assists wouldn't hold for long enough for me to screenshot) The landing gear: "Houston we have liftoff!" Picking up speed: Then the picture you've all been waiting for (Drum roll please!) ... It did go 3600 m/s but that was above 50km and I didn't think that counted. EDIT: Craft file is now available!

This challenge was waaaaaay harder than I thought. First I started with planes, getting mach 5 on KER but only going 1500 m/s. Then I made a rocket, reread the rules and saw that wasn't allowed, then reread again and saw that it never said you couldn't use solid rocket boosters. Then I built a solid fuel plane but it was so heavy that when it launched every part clipped inward and exploded. I was about to give up when I noticed on of the boosters rocketing away. I switched to it and watched, hoped, and prayed and it finally beat 3000 m/s below 50km. I hope this meets the rest of the requirements. It launched horizontally and theoretically I could land it but it exploded before I could try. This one is uncontrollable but I can make it controllable So several hours after finding this challenge here is my Hermes entry, with a top speed of 3105 m/s: Edit: Ignore this one, look beneath it
