  1. Calling 911 to find out why there is no synonym for "thesaurus"
  2. Granted. The name of the Moon is changed to be "Earth", and the name of Earth is changed to be "Moon". Earth orbits Moon. I wish I could survive in the vacuum of space indefinitely without need for life support systems.
  3. Well, that "monthly/once per month/once in a given month" was supposed to be AFTER Mike reworked their internal calendar. Which has now also been blown to smithereens (I'm guessing).
  4. To get back on topic: I'd be curious to hear Nate's thoughts on the developing story since he posted this thread. To be very clear, I am not talking about him divulging whether or not he knew, or if he has any further information on the layoffs/future of the franchise. I am just wondering how the news impacted his telling us things were moving along, and if he now feels that this thread was a bit premature? I know he couldn't look into the future when he wrote it (several days before the news broke), and there isn't anything he can do to change either what he wrote or what is happening. But I'd be curious to hear his thoughts on how the news impacts - again, in his own opinion - what he wrote.
  5. I think that was a given prior to the news this week as we hadn't had one in 7ish weeks anyhow.
  6. Did I miss something? When did we go back to April 1?
  7. Well, the game does have model rockets in it. And from what I gather, people playing the game are trying to send said model rockets into space. So while he can't label it Kerbal anything, there is almost nothing stopping him from going the space simulator route again (although I'm sure TT wouldn't really like the original developer of KSP creating another sim to directly compete, but that's a whole other basket of golf balls).
  8. Nope. I was simply pointing out what TT is quoted as saying, and then stating that it could be corp speak for realignment. Because we have no proof it is one way or the other, I'm still of the mind that the game is dead (and if it isn't dead, then it's on life support and close to flat-lining). As I mentioned in another post, this happened to me when I left Humana and went to United Health Group. I was given 3 weeks of time off between the 2 jobs, and paid for 4 weeks. The only painful part of it was having to deal with transferring 401k funds out of Humana's internal fund thing (at the time; they may very well have moved to another financial system for this since then).
  9. They kind of said this in that corp-speak statement they released talking about "rationalizing the pipeline". I know it's a pretty big stretch from that to realigning projects, and they did a very lousy job of communicating (which we are all used to with this project anyhow). Not saying I disagree with you, just pointing out that they kind of, maybe, in a round-about way, perhaps, slightly said it. Maybe. The more I think about what happened, the more I'm convincing myself that this is true. I think like you do - the company will make an attempt to slap a 1.0 label on the game with the next release (which was supposed to be 0.2.2) and then call it a day. In 12-18 months you'll then see the company potentially go over its books, take a final look at the financials of KSP2, and decide whether or not they wish to work on KSP3.
  10. Because multiple people, including Vanamonde, made comments about how they don't have any information about what is going on any more than the rest of us do. And that was not what I asked. I didn't ask the mods to explain what was going on, but rather to deal with the insults and emotions like they do every other damned day of the year. THAT is what I was asking. People seem to think for some reason today that I'm out of line, or that I'm not comprehending stuff, or that I'm intentionally being difficult. Instead of doing what you did, which was ask me for clarification. And I don't understand why the community seems to want to treat me as the whipping post today. Several minor questions could have gotten far better answers out of me as opposed to the harassment that I had to ask the mods to step in and deal with.
  11. Let's also not forget that closing the office means savings on the building itself. If TT owns the building, they can sell it and recoup some losses from the project.
  12. Just because there is no mention doesn't mean it didn't happen. Companies here in the states aren't required (AFAIK) to disclose whether or not severance was given. The company I work for just laid a bunch of people off, and they didn't announce severance packages. But I worked with several people who got let go, and they all indicated they got one. My wife got one a year ago when she was downsized. So it is possible they got a package but the org didn't mention it.
  13. Well, we all hoped that we wouldn't be where we are either. It just is what it is, and I'm just concerned is all.
  14. Same. But I wonder if the game, assuming it continues to get developed, gets reworked as a new title. That is concerning.
  15. And once again, thats not what I meant. Tempers are flaring, personal insults are being thrown around. I'm wondering why you guys haven't stepped in yet to calm that down.
  16. Ok, to try putting a new spin on this: Say KSP2 goes to another studio for development. Doesn't matter which one, so just play along for a second. What happens to the copies of KSP2 we all already have? Will the new studio continue coding from where IG left off, and then continue to upload to Steam/Epic/wherever so we get updates through the copies we already own? Or will the new studio start from scratch? If the new studio starts from scratch, we aren't going to have to purchase the next version again, are we?
  17. That "full statement" was reported in multiple online news stories yesterday and today. That's not news.
  18. Beyond the tweet saying "We're still hard at work"...source?
  19. I tried growing a playoff beard this year...and got to 9 days before my face said "too itchy!".
  20. I just noticed that the Discord Dev Tracker on the home page isn't working/active. I sincerely hope that it's just me not seeing things there (which it very well could be).
  21. Re-read what I wrote. I stated "I don't mean them not giving official statements, but helping to put out some of the emotional fires". As in, coming into threads and reminding people to be civil.
  22. I've got a career game going in KSP1 that I was absolutely loving. I've got 90% of the tech tree unlocked, more than 10 million in funds (I watched the counter flip over to 0 yesterday morning), and I was about to start working on SSTO design as I keep getting contracts to put tourists up on my space station. Then this news all broke and I was like "Aw, shucks" and now I just don't want to play for a while. As far as coding/modding goes...yeah, I'm with you. I have one mod for KSP2 that's really simple, and I've started going through the Unity book on how to write games in Unity. But while I'm an automation jockey IRL, I'm no game dev. They will have probably colonized Mars before I do anything appreciable.
