Q: Is that possible? A: Sure, just let me pull on this glove and snap my fingers.

I have read 3 of the 4 pages, so probably this has already been said on the one I missed but here goes. You are applying human baggage on genderless creatures. Your gender as a human is based on many factors, not just externally physical, but internally and your mental state/feelings. That is why letters keep being added to the current description of anyone who does not identify as heterosexual. You can't come up with enough boxes to throw humans into to try to pin down what they are, every human on the planet is an individual with their own unique way of being. Kerbals do not have defined gender roles, they have nothing below the neck that is different. If you think Jeb is male or Val female then that is you projecting your way of thinking on them. Kerbals are literally whatever you want them to be, if you want to imagine them being your unique mix of human then feel free to. There is nothing to say otherwise. Names are meaningless, any personal name can be used by anyone of any gender, there is nothing to say that only a man or a woman can use a certain name. If you want more customizable Kerbals that is one thing, but don't confuse it with being a representation of humans in the world, otherwise you are making the mistake of all the bigots in the world, who think that a persons worth can be determined by skin colour, gender, ethnicity. You already know that that way of thinking is small minded. You are already represented in the KSP world because the Kerbal you choose to go to space is already whatever you want it to be.

PartTools Problem
ColdJ replied to DerinA21's topic in KSP1 General Mod Development Help and Support
Hi. I can't help you with Part Tools but if you can't get an answer to this from someone then there is the option of using the .mu plugin in the Blender environment. @JonnyOThan might be able to help, he is very knowledgeable about IVA creation. -

Come up with new sayings to describe the chances of something happening etc, based on modern experiences. To start, here is mine. That is as likely as a Creeper playing basketball.

Hi @taniwha. When you have a chance, is there any info you could tell me about the extra fields available in the mu properties for wheel colliders? As seen in the pic below when comparing a stock wheel to its configuration file, the only thing that matches exactly is the radius, so does changing anything else in this section actually have any affect on how the wheel reacts in world? Thank you.

Kerbal Space Program 2 Release into Early Access Feb 24th
ColdJ replied to Intercept Games's topic in 2022
That is on Steam. Many more bought the game directly or from GOG. Many people are more comfortable managing installations themselves rather than through a service that thinks for us. -

Geonovast became afraid. He expected the safety inspector to appear before dark. The team thought that massive boosters might counter the lack of struts on Kerbin. The mission would gradually devolve into reaction wheels, something literally revolutionary to Kerbalkind. How extraordinary that is, considering the effort required to make big ol' pitch forks and feather dusters with large torches, and wiggly tentacles playing the piano for fun. Exactly one week later, the inspector woke to find a great disturbance in the force - a PowerPoint presentation. The horror of it overcame him with great quantum superlinearecitation. A Massive vortex opened to reveal a terrifying cake-producing monster. The inspector immediately panicked and reached for his pogo-stick, deftly bouncing off the bed that he was floating on down the Nile and into the grasp of Curveball-Anders who spontaneously barfed. Rutabaga, meanwhile, emerged in the river of dreams. Snark saw Kerbiloid and thought, is that Adsii? What strange and bizarre manifestations appear when Aerodynamic Kerbal suffers from a ColdJ virus. Deddly, Vanamonde and TakeTwo ninja'd the cake as Admiral-Fluffy forlornly tried to soak a stolen dry bagel in lox. The cake-producing monster began slithering towards the first person to run a bakery in the best area of Dakota. Competition wasn't anything the monster felt like wasting time on. However, the mountain of cake was devoured by the kraken, leaving a steaming pile of useless debris. Boris (the monster) started a clearance war while Adsii cleaned his plate with an explosion of flavour that could've potentially rivaled the famed Tibetan chocolate croissant. Meanwhile 18watt, Nazalassa and Starhawk were hatching a plan to take over Minmus with an icecream van. Scoops of Minmuscream were flung in every possible direction, while Vanamonde insisted on waffle-cone diplomacy complete with toppings and spoons. The outcome of the event was uncertain; the icecream was completely consumed by Gargamel and the cones became crushed from lack of enthusiasm by the moderators. The inspector later wrote a scathing report; despite having no memory of previous events, it was imaginative and entertaining in its depiction of strange hallucinations and bizarre potatoes. He was deliberately throwing doubt across the entire Kerbol system as to what had happened, so more inspectors arrived to grab a bunch of managers to remove the sting of the report. However, before they were ready for publishing, the Kraken released a piece of artwork based on macaroni cheese to surpass the wiggly tentacles playing the piano for fun. This caused a hyperbolic frenzy in publishing the report, resulting in an outrage towards its writers, who then asked, "Where are the snacks?" Boris suddenly saw an opportunity to sell copious amounts of Snacks. Hot cupcakes sold like hotcakes and cold cake sold like cold cream cups (which are good for puffy eyes). But something unexpected did occur: the inspector tasted his lunch and threw a party for everyone, Geonovast excluded Gargamel. Curveball-Anders took

[1.2-1.7] Blender (2.83+) .mu import/export addon
ColdJ replied to taniwha's topic in KSP1 Tools and Applications
I had to check back to make sure that it wasn't you I had the conversation about .dds files with. So first off, did you build the UV map over a .dds file? If so then you most likely have the sections in the wrong places. .dds files are upside down compared to all other formats and blender doesn't auto flip. That is why I UV map over a .png and only when everything is working do I flip the .png upside down and then save as a .dds then remove the .png so that it is the .dds that gets used. If that is not it. What KSP shader did you use for your material set up? Did you remember to give it a unique name down in the MU Shader section, just above the box that says shader, so that your set up gets saved on export? Did you remember to name the the texture pics in the material set up to look for your named pics? If the program can't find a pic it is set to look for then it will usually come out as the grey colour you see in the solid view when in blender, the default for when a model is not painted. That is why if it is black I think it is either, over the wrong section or if the shader requires more than one pic, then maybe they aren't configured right. Alternatively it could be to do with the fact that the parts use a mod to give that specialised silvery look. I knew enough to work out what you most likely needed to do to make it work the same as the original part but I have never made use of that mod myself so I am not versed in its usage. It may be that there is something else that the mod needs to make a new texture work with it. Maybe you should comment out your addition to the patch while you are doing this to see if it comes out correctly in game. If it shows correctly, but not shiny, then you will know you have that bit right and need to work out for the patch. If it doesn't then you know something needs to be fixed in the materials set up. Man, do I know how that feels. When I joined in April 2021 I had never 3d modeled in my life and it was another 6 months before I even tried, after it was suggested to me that I do. There was very little information on how things worked and I started on BforArtists, which has a different default key map to blender (I now know that I can set it to the Blender key map, but didn't then) so when I tried to watch youtube tutorials the shortcuts didn't match. Trying to get members who had experience to help me learn was near useless, people are very quick to tell you when they don't agree with something you have said but very rarely are willing to help you learn to get it right. That is why I started my thread. I wanted others to have an easier time than me. Let me know how you go. -

Was joking with you, I saw your pics. My Flash rocket mod in my shiny things is very slippery like that, without putting the engines on full going retrograde it tends to just slice through the atmosphere and go straight out the other side. It even seems to accelerate as it enters the atmosphere rather than slow if you don't use the engines. It is weird. P -25

Please put huge amounts of pics in spoilers, some of us don't have unlimited data or fast connections, and some are looking on mobile phones. Just asking as one of those people. Still some tweaking to do but one articulating Elevator Car.

P -25 Sorry but the rules are set and took a while and democratic process to be set out so that we complied with the moderation teams wishes and didn't get locked. You stated that your chaotic goal was to get to an end fast so you are right with C. Though @Caerfinon has given @Catto the basics I see that he hasn't been back on to see them so I will pop the rules here for their benefit. New Game Rules. These are new game rules. As it is impossible to edit the original post it is asked that any time a core player sees a new player that they link them to this or the copy of this that is to be placed at the beginning of a new battle, that will have an updated tally of victories. As per instructions from the moderators. There is to be no role play elements to the battle. Simple exclamations that we are getting ahead or falling behind, or saying you need help are fine, but no suggestion that you are part of an army or fantasy faction in some epic confrontation. It is more or less attempting to reach a goal line and passing to another with the same goal or getting intercepted by someone going the other way. There is a term used in the forums called "Being Ninja'd". Basically if while you are typing your post someone else posts a move and you don't see it till you have refreshed your page. This then causes you to have to edit your post to correct for the new number. It is then not unheard of for someone to post before you have had a chance to edit your post and so a cascade effect happens. To make clear your original intent in the hopes of lessening this, There is a new rule for posting as follows. When posting please preface your number by one of 4 letters. P if you are trying to get the score to +75 N if you are trying to get the score to -75 Z if your goal is to get the score to zero C if you are chaotic and just post as you feel, but your number must only be 1 different from the last post put. The addition of the number 1 or the subtraction of the number 1. By doing this a player can see what you intended to put and post knowing what it would be if you had not been ninja'd. There is a 5 minute rule for individual number posts done by you, this is to minimise spam and ninja posting. To post a new number post, there are 4 rules that must be followed for it to be considered valid. To make a valid number post, 1: Your previous post must say it was made 5 minutes or greater before your current. 2: Any other player must have posted a number post between your last post and your new post. 3: Your post must be only 1 number different from the last post. Clarification: The number must be the whole number known as 1, spelt One. Either the addition of 1 or the subtraction of 1. 4: Your number must have a preface letter. All new games must start with a "0" . If you posted the winning post, be it +75 or -75 , then it is asked that you copy this post into a new post and update the tally so that this is at the beginning of a new game. Tally of Victories. Positive wins: 4 Negative wins: 2

P -14 You must be young and still in school. I remember when a school day would seem to go on forever, now it is like the kids are back 5 minutes after they went to school. Little secret. Years actually pass faster the older you get. You will see when you get older.

Custom livery help please.
ColdJ replied to quicksilver384's topic in KSP1 Modelling and Texturing Discussion
Most likely when you originally changed the texture using a .dds that was upside down you have ended off with part of the UV map going off the top edge of the texture pic, instead of just showing nothing the program treats the pic as if it is wrapped around a cylinder, so the UV map going off the top would act as if was over the bottom of the pic and so you get mirroring. The easiest way to check this if you are set up for it is to load the model into blender/Bforartists using the .mu plugin and look to see where the UV map is overlayed on the pic. If you can't do this and so don't know where the original author put things, then your best bet is to study the original texture pic very carefully and try to figure out what parts turn up where on the model and then adjust your pic to be in the right places. You could also set a colour grid texture with different colour boxes, using as many different shades as possible, name it to texture name and load, then you can compare where on the model matches what shade and so get an idea of the UV map layout. My thread can get you started on using the .mu plugin if you aren't already, all software is free apart from whatever your service provider charges for data. Good Luck -
